We'll All Be Arrested

The government incitement started even before the air had cleared from the terrorist's shooting of innocent yeshiva students in Merkaz Harav last Thursday night.

On national TV, the police made it clear that they were expecting "revenge killings" and were prepared to prevent it. Since then, while the families were still sitting shiva (observing the week long mourning period,) the media circus has been stressing "calls to violence."

The irony is that this coming Shabbat is Shabbat Zachor. Everyone is commanded to read the Torah portion in which G-d reminds us of what Amalek did to us and to destroy him.

Shabbat Zakhor - Deuteronomy 25:17-19
17 Remember what Amalek did to you on your journey, after you left Egypt — 18 how, undeterred by fear of God, he surprised you on the march, when you were famished and weary, and cut down all the stragglers in your rear. 19 Therefore, when the Lord your God grants you safety from all your enemies around you, in the land that the Lord your God is giving you as a hereditary portion, you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven. Do not forget!

Now, what does G-d mean by commanding:
"...you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven. Do not
forget!"

Will we all be arrested?

Probably. Remember years ago, Yossi Sarid YSh"W said that Purim should be canceled because it's racist, or something like that? Then Rav Ovadiah cursed him, or something like that.

Before that, all Rav Kahane HY"D did was quote Tana"kh and the Ramba"m. He was deemed a racist.

Eruv Rav, that's what these people are.

So should I keep a bag packed, like when I was in my 9th month?

No. They won't let you have anything anyway. From what hear, pay head to the following advice:

1) Don't take no for an answer, and you'll get what you want.

2) Talk to Sefardi and Teimani prison guards alone. They're apparently on our side, and will do they're best to treat you fairly.

3) Pretend you're a man, because Tirtzah prison we'll treat you badly, whereas in Masiyahu you can at least have a bet midrash full of books at your disposal, or a TV. You're not allowed both.

I don't think I can pass for a man. Do you have any better ideas?

It does not say, erase Amalek, it says erase zeher Amalek. Big difference.

Mi tahat ha shamaim. Apparently that is where the memory is stored.

Mashma me al ha shamaim, yesh zeher.

Memory is in us, not in Amalek. It is our memory of Amalek that needs to be erased tahat ha shamaim.

Eliya, you got it. The reason we are in such trouble is that the politicians and philosophers keep forgetting Amalek, the dangers, history etc.
Is that what you mean?
