Israel's South Suffers Barrage of Arab Terror, International Media Sympathizes With Terrorists

If you're dependent on the international media for information about news here in Israel, you'd think that Israel has been attacking innocent "Gandhi style" demonstrators of all ages from Gaza. You'd never know that Gaza has been launching dangerous missiles and fire-causing weapons at Israel.

The Arab terrorist Gazans and their backers choreographed a dangerous situation. Their balloons weren't party balloons. They were incendiary devices developed to burn Israeli fields when hitting the ground. This is causes enormous damage to agriculture and the environment. Simultaneously, they have been trying to destroy the security fence between Gaza and Israel in order to invade and terrorise Israel.  None of their aims are for human rights. And to make a bigger anti-Israel effect, they use human shields, holding children hoping the youngsters would be wounded or killed in order to accuse Israel of cruelty.

At night, security alarms in Southern Israel have been going off to alert Israelis to get into shelters within seconds because of the missiles shot at them. These attacks are ignored by the International media who sides with the Arab terrorists.

What I've just written is the truth, which you're not reading in Reuters or seeing on CNN, BBC etc.

Objective Journalism, Does it Exist?

I used to be a real newshound, addicted to listening to the news, reading whatever newspapers I could find, watching news shows. Yes, the whole works. And I loved the dynamics of politics ever since I was a teen. Now, as you may have noticed from the blog posts here, I'm disgusted and horrified.

There is nothing that even vaguely resembles objective news reporting. Not only do they all have their agendas, but there's no such thing as fact checking. It's beyond ignorance. There's an innocence in ignorance, but nowadays a don't see that at all. There are vicious attacks, like a modern version of the auto-da-fé.

An auto-da-fé or auto-de-fé (from Portuguese auto da fé [ˈaw.tu dɐ ˈfɛ], meaning "act of faith") was the ritual of public penance of condemned heretics and apostates that took place when the Spanish Inquisition, Portuguese Inquisition or the Mexican Inquisition had decided their punishment, followed by the execution by the civil authorities of the sentences imposed.
The most extreme punishment imposed on those convicted was execution by burning. In popular usage, the term auto-da-fé, the act of public penance, came to mean the burning at the stake. Wikipedia

Media interviews are more like either vicious interrogations or the fawning style seen in simplistic fan magazines of old.

At first I was very excited to discover that we could watch BBC News on our television, since I had happily listened to the radio version for decades. Then I had considered it, except for news on Israel*, pretty objective. But as the last American Presidential Campaign began to heat up, their support for Hillary and the Democrats so distorted their reports I could no longer trust their objectivity about anything. And not only hasn't it gotten better, it has gotten much worse. We don't have cable, just a simple "dish," and recently we don't even get the Israeli stations. CNN was never known for its objectivity.

Then  I discovered the English French TV News Channel, and I had great hopes for it, since it's not that interested in American news. I began watching it, but then they began a feature about the Israel-Arab "conflict." It begins with:

"In 1967  Israel invaded..." 

Grrr... That's what people all over the world think, and what is taught in universities even in the USA. And I have this nasty, frightening feeling that even some Israelis are oblivious to the facts, the Arab aggression that led up to the 1967 Six Days War. In order to survive, Israel had no choice other than shoot first.

About thirty 30 years ago, in the days when we hosted many journalists of an amazing selection of international media, I had a talk with a top editor of an American newspaper. I asked him what training, education he looked for when hiring someone starting in the profession. He said that he does not like to hire those with degrees in journalism, since they don't know anything other than how to write. He looks for those who majored in History, Economics, Science etc.

"Any knowledgeable university graduate can be taught how to write a good article, but I can't teach a Journalism graduate facts."

Things have changed drastically in the international media. I no longer have objective sources to learn current events and get an accurate idea of what's really happening in politics. I just know what's happening on the ground here in Israel, but not from the media. Today fake news is all over, and when trying to check accuracy, you really need to be an expert. This is both dangerous and sad. People are making decisions based on lies, fantasies, fake news and worse.

I can't see how it will get better. I am pessimistic for the future.

*During the Intifada Part 1, I was horrified to hear an excited BBC radio reporter telling that he was with Arabs throwing rocks on Jews and how they tried to protect their eyes from the teargas the Israeli soldiers aimed at them to stop them. And in those days BBC even came to our house to film us and ask us questions.

CNN: "West Jerusalem." Where's That?

We ended up watching the quadruple funeral of the four Jewish victims of the Arab terror attack in the Parisian Kosher Supermarket on CNN. The broadcast was seriously marred by the fact that the announcer kept saying that they were in "West Jerusalem." I didn't hear or find it on the site, but I can't get it out of my ears.

There is no such place. What a disgrace to the memories of the victims, innocent French Jews who were shopping in a kosher store before the holy Sabbath.

It's a credit to the families of the dead victims of Arab Muslim terror that they came to Jerusalem to bury their loved ones in our Holy Land. They wouldn't defile them in French soil.

Mobs of Israelis came to accompany the dead to their final resting place in Jerusalem and to try to give some comfort to the mourners. The rest of us watched on television if possible.

Hyper-Casher Funeral

We are all one people, and an attack, an Arab Muslim terrorist attack on a kosher store is also an attack on Israel. The fact that it has been widely reported that the French Government tried to keep Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu away from the anti-terror march just shows how complicit the French Government is.

CNN Distorts God's Jewish Warriors by Yakov Dov

This letter to the editor about CNN's "God's Jewish Warriors" was written by one of my correspondents.

Subject: CNN Distorts God's Jewish Warriors

CNN aired their TV documentary God’s Warriors, 8/21, first focusing on Jews. They had a biased selective view, distorting history and the current Mideast conflict.

CNN never mentioned that Arab leaders urged local Arabs to flee Palestine during Israel’s 1948 war of independence so that 5 Arab armies could destroy Israel. This resulted in over 700,000 Palestinian Arab refugees that the Arab League refused to repatriate, and used as pawns and terrorists in their struggle to destroy Israel, which still continues .
CNN never noted that Israel only has about 20% of the lands of Palestine, Jordan occupying about 80%, and that there were former Jewish settlements in the West Bank destroyed by Jordan in 1948-49.
CNN never mentioned that during that time until the mid 50’s, Arab nations expelled about 800,000 Jews who lost their homes and property. Israel resettled these refugees.
CNN never mentioned that the PLO was formed in 1964 who’s charter is to destroy Israel. Fatah and Hamas still have the same goals. Egypt and Jordan controlled Gaza and the West Bank and there was no quest for a Palestinian state then, why? We only heard of Palestinians Arab nationality after the 1967 defensive war, after Israel reclaimed her former homelands.
CNN mainly focused on the Jewish settler “underground” a small group of people who used violence and were arrested and imprisoned, not representative of the majority of these people who are peaceful “revenants”, who returned to their ancient homeland.
CNN never mentioned that surveys reveal that about ¾ of Palestinian Arabs subscribe to terror and Israel’s destruction.
CNN pictured the Jerusalem Mufti as a peaceful person in a suit, claiming exclusive rights to the Temple Mount, and lying about a historic Jewish presence there. They never showed him in his religious garb preaching hate and terror and murder against Jews, and calling them pigs and apes. He was following in the footsteps of the former Mufti, Arafat’s uncle Haj Al-Husseini, who was an ally of Hitler, and a WW2 war criminal.
CNN showed Dov Hikind,a NYS Assemblyman and others, also Christians, who donated moneys to settler communities in Israel. They depict these Christians as religious fanatics. They also showed Jimmy Carter who denounced Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands. However they failed to mention the millions of dollars that Carter received from Arabs for his library. They also showed similar criticism by former Secretary of State James Baker, but failed to mention that he was a lobbyist for the Saudis.
Jerusalem was always the capital of Israel, for thousands of years, and was divided by Jordan in 1949, when Jews were excluded from their holy places, many of which were destroyed and desecrated. Israel reunited Jerusalem in 1967.

CNN has a long record of bias to Israel, as documented by others such as CAMERA. They also have significant Arab stockholders and a seemingly biased owner.

Christine Amanpour of CNN promotes the basic lie that it is the settlements that inflame the Arab world, and not the existence of Israel; she repeats the canard about Jewish money and power in America. She also further characterizes religious Jewish settlers in Judea and Samaria as fanatics by focusing on Jewish religious symbols that many don’t understand.

Israel occupies only her own homelands set forth by the Bible and their historic rights to such lands, also recognized in the Balfour declaration. Britain created Jordan on the former lands of Palestine to establish their hegemony in the MidEast. Contrary to the biased CNN, UN, and some other legal opinions, there are sound arguments that Israel’s settlements in Judea and Samaria are legal, and not on occupied Arab lands.

If peace is to be achieved in the MidEast, the Palestinians must end their barbaric reign of terror, adopt democratic ways, and educate their children in science, business ,medicine etc, not in terror and the destruction of Israel.

CNN's G-d's Warriors

More and more of CNN's upcoming series "G-d's Warriors" is beginning to be available on the internet.

We don't get CNN on our TV, so I won't be able to see the entire production. If you can, please report on how it turns out.

I got a kick out of the early promotional material which showed one Jew, verses the masses of Arabs. Do they see us as David vs Goliath, or some monster with super powers?

Of course it's a "given" that it won't be pro-Jewish rights to Eretz Yisrael. One of the promotional pieces has Jimmy Carter saying that the "settlements" are preventing peace. But I was pleasantly surprised by one of the sections, now available online, about Hebron.
