Here in Israel, there's a very constant "elephant in the room," aka Holocaust awareness. While the rest of the world has wiped that nasty bit of history out of the curriculum, or whitewashed it into something minor or "universal," Israeli school children are still being taught the nastier facts of life. And I hope that this continues here forever here in Israel.
Yesterday, as I attended the large Holocaust Memorial Ceremony in the Ofra Girls High School, a number of rows behind me sat my granddaughter.
The schools and preschools here in Israel make every effort to teach even the most difficult and incomprehensible eras of history in ways suitable for all ages.
Jewish History and Holidays are a series of Holocausts and attempted Holocausts. Think of Chanukah, Purim, the Crusades and the Inquisition. The Nazis of Europe, not just Germany, weren't the first and they certainly won't be the last. We are fighting a war of blood, theology and words right now with those who support and promote the so-called Palestinians, sic. The slogan "from the river to the sea Palestine will be free" is a very unsubtle war cry to destroy the State of Israel, Gd forbid. Their aim is to take over our Land and murder us.
Christian missionaries are after our souls, since there is no legitimacy to Christian dogma when Judaism is thriving. The actual basis of Christian theology is that god left the Jewish People and proclaimed a new one led by Jesus and his disciples. The Establishment of the State of Israel, even after six million Jews were murdered during the Holocaust, and our inexplicable, other than Gd's Hand, military victories in 1948, 1967 and 1973 challenge the very basis of Christianity.
So, if you've been having trouble figuring out why the United Nations, European Union, the international media, innumerable foreign countries and NGOs constantly target Israel as immoral or danger to "world peace," the answer is clear. They've never "liked" us. Our survival goes against their own interests.
The Jewish People and Jewish State have never had any real, reliable allies, so it's time to stop looking for or expecting any support. We have Gd, and that's all we need.

Real History: USA Wasn't Founded/Established by "Immigrants"
I hate to break to to you, but the truth is that the United States of America was founded/established by invaders and colonialists. They vanquished the native locals in every way possible. The surviving natives were then brainwashed by Christian missionaries. And to this day their descendants are second or third class citizens.
The immigrants came later, after the colonialists and adventurers. And don't forget the unfortunate black African slaves sold to the Europeans by the Arab muslims. The Europeans needed workers for the agriculture in the "new" land they had taken over.
Manifest Destiny was the rationale/green light for the new country to take over/populate all the land from sea to sea.
Sorry, but what I wrote is the truth, and it doesn't sound all that pretty. And reading recent news, it's clear that Europeans still think themselves as "rulers" of the world. The Arab terrorist Abbas, whom they set up to run the PA, has gone davka to the European Union to ask their help in forcing Israel to kowtow to his terrorist demands.
The Jewish People have a much longer history here in the Holy Land, and we never completely left it. Now we are back where we belong. We've outsurvived our ancient enemies, and we'll be around long after the EU and the USA, Gd willing.

Manifest Destiny, a phrase coined in 1845, expressed the philosophy that drove 19th-century U.S. territorial expansion. Manifest Destiny held that the United States was destined—by God, its advocates believed—to expand its dominion and spread democracy and capitalism across the entire North American continent. And that's when immigrants became necessary.

Absurdity of Jewish Prayer Said by Christians
Yesterday I had a very enjoyable time at Shiloh Hakeduma, the archeological site at Tel Shiloh. As every Hol Hamoed, the "Intermediate Days of Succot and Passover," there were activities for all ages.
I made my way to the site which is believed to have been where the Mishkan, Tabernacle had been for almost four hundred years. There were a couple of musicians and a group of people. I quickly noticed that the people weren't Jewish. They were Christian, and some were even wearing large crosses. I sat on the side quietly observing the interaction between them and the young men playing the saxophone and electric organ.
Rather surprisingly, the group requested Jewish religious songs. They sang along with great enthusiasm. They kept asking for "Sh'ma Yisrael," a very iconic Jewish Prayer which states an important principle in Jewish theology, but the musicians insisted that they didn't know it as a "song." After singing a few other songs to the music played, the Christian group offered to sing "Sh'ma Yisrael" acapella, sans music.
The musicians and I were shocked to hear them singing the prayer exactly the way it's said in synagogue including the name of Gd and the second line, which is normally whispered. The translation is:
Listen/Hear Israel, The Lord is Our Gd, The Lord is One
Blessed Be The Name of His glorious kingdom for ever and ever
This is a total contradiction to Christian theology. And I couldn't remain quiet. I spoke:
"Do you know the actual meaning of this prayer?" I asked them.Their leader tried to contradict me with the usual "prophet" quotations. I refused to get into a theological discussion. I wanted the group to understand the very basis of Judaism and to stress that we do not accept their premise that the person they worship was a god who brought a new/revised message. By translating from the original Hebrew and ignoring the timeline, Christianity distorts the Bible.
"It means that there is only one Gd, one message, forever and ever."
Judaism stresses the importance of the first five books over Prophets and Writings. And we learn the Bible in Hebrew. Every translation is a distortion, because no two languages are the same. Only simple numbers can be translated without an agenda.
I find this hijacking of this basic Jewish Prayer very disturbing, because Christianity's entire theological agenda is the exact opposite of the message of the Sh'ma. I wonder if anyone really listened to me.

Spark Ignited, A Book Review
How can I begin this book review.....?
Although I have many friends who are converts to Judaism, Spark Ignited tells stories of conversions of the sort I had never heard before. Spark Ignited, by Michaela Lawson and Ashirah Yosefah, features many warnings and stories about proselytizing Christian groups that mimic Jewish customs in dangerously confusing ways.
A few years ago, I had been asked to lead a tour of Shiloh Hakeduma, Tel Shiloh for a group of "Christian Zionists." Looking at them, with their men in kippot with tzitziyot, and the women in modest dresses, hair covered with scarves, I found myself very confused, especially when the group leaders mentioned that they lived in a yishuv (Jewish town) not far from me. They dressed as Jews, but I was told that the group was Christian Zionists. It was only at the end when I spoke to the leaders and heard their names, that I understood that I had taken around a rather notorious "messianic" group known for targeting Jews.
Michaela Lawson and Ashirah Yosefah, the writers of Spark Ignited tell their stories and of others explaining how some members of these Christian Hebrew cults/sects are sincerely looking for the True G-d but have a very difficult time weaning themselves from worshiping Jesus. In some cases it takes decades. Being born a Jew, although not in a Torah observant home, I cannot understand how someone can worship a person, especially a dead one. Considering how enormous and powerful the various Christian religions are, it's pretty obvious that my way of thinking is a very tiny minority in the world.
Everything written in Spark Ignited is important for us to know. I think that the book would have been more powerful if it had begun with the personal stories which are in the end. It could just be because I'm a "people person" and relate to these personal tales of conversion more than the series of essays that begin the book.
The people whose stories are included were apparently "red-flagged" by the Rabbinate for their Christian-Hebrew activities. I'm comforted by the fact that the Rabbinate is aware of the dangers of these cults or Christian sects and make efforts to keep them out of conversion programs here. The Ministry of the Interior also have them flagged and try to limit and cease renewing their tourist visas.
The personal stories I read in the book were amazing. The converts had to work so hard to convince the Ministry of the Interior and the Rabbis in the Conversion program that they were sincere in their wanting to be Jews and that they no longer believed in Jesus. And even more amazing is that these converts actually sympathize with the Israeli authorities, because they know very well how dangerous to Judaism these Christians can be.
Enough of my reactions to the book. I suggest that you read it yourself. It can be ordered through Barnes & Noble or Amazon besides its publisher MenorahBooks.

Europe, Possibly Israel's Most Dangerous Enemy
Caroline Glick hits the bulls-eye with her latest post about Europe leading the BDS and anti-Israel actions of Arabs.
The enemies who look so sophisticated and can act charming are our most dangerous. I consider this like the finely trained Christian missionaries who have been coached by experts on how not to alarm the Jews they are sent to befriend. The Christians are attacking our souls, spirit (read Jewish Israel*) while the Europeans are helping the Arabs get our Land.
They are the two opposites, body and soul, our Land and the Jewish People. That makes them, the Christians and the Europeans complementary and equally dangerous enemies of Israel and the Jewish People. Unfortunately Israelis consistently underestimate the potential disaster each can cause.
A few months ago European led Arabs tried to invade/attack Sha'ar Binyamin, the shopping center where I work. They are not pleased that Jews and Arabs actually work and shop together. They tried to pressure the Arabs to leave, to boycott the Jewish stores and employment. There's nothing humanitarian in that.
We must take steps against both of these enemies.

The Palestinians did not come alone. They were accompanied by European diplomats. The diplomats were there to provide diplomatic cover to the Palestinians as they broke the law and breached the agreements the PLO signed with the Israeli government.
This would have been bad enough, but in the event, one European diplomat, Marion Castaing, the cultural attaché at the French Consulate in Jerusalem, decided that her job didn’t end with providing diplomatic cover for lawbreakers. She joined them. She punched an Israeli border policeman in the face.
Rather than apologize to Israel for using European diplomats to support Palestinians engaged in criminal activity, and for Castaing’s shocking violence against an Israeli soldier lawfully performing his duties, EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton attacked Israel.

Missionary Beckford Found Guilty of Assault

Arad missionary Edwin (Eddie) Beckford has been found guilty of assaulting a counter-missionary activist and of attempting to run-down volunteers from Yad l'Achim with his vehicle.
In a five month period the messianic Christians in Southern Israel have suffered two serious legal setbacks. Israeli Jews may be winning the legal battles, but are they losing the PR war? Jewish Israel asks some serious questions...more

Counter Missionaries Unite and Launch Jewish Isaiah 53.com

In a stunning show of unity, counter-missionary professionals from across the globe, and representing a number of organizations, have joined forces to offer a creative and pro-active response to recent missionary campaigns which have been targeting the Jewish people for conversion.
Jewish Isaiah 53.com went live in the early hours of the morning and offers a direct and comprehensive response to aggressive and virulent campaigns like that launched by the missionary organization Chosen People Ministries, which targeted Jews throughout the New York area this summer.
Isaiah 53 is frequently used by Christian missionaries to try and prove to Jews that the chapter’s “suffering servant” is in reference to jesus. Those Jews identifying with their people and sensitized to Jewish history are, and always have been, impervious to this Christian theological spin. However, at present, a number of our people are spiritually floundering, and have forgotten who they are.
The launching of Jewish Isaiah 53.com is an unprecedented effort to clarify matters for those who are confused, and to educate and strengthen those who are actively trying to bring our people home to the G-d of truth.
Articles, commentaries and recordings by leading Jewish scholars, rabbis, and counselors in the counter-missionary field are featured at Jewish Isaiah 53. The currently featured professionals are (in alphabetical order):
Rabbi Eli Cohen, Rabbi Stuart Federow, Asher Norman, Rabbi Moshe Shulman, Rabbi Tovia Singer, Rabbi Michael Skobac, Penina Taylor, and Uri Yosef
Jewish Isaiah 53.com does not represent or stand for any particular organization. The site is a work in progress and many other counter-missionary professionals from a number of organizations worked behind the scenes to actualize this endeavor. Visitors to the site should look forward to future commentary and content from additional scholars.
Jewish Israel is honored to have been a part of this project from its inception and to have contributed the site’s banner.
The webmaster of the site is Moshe Verschleisser and inquiries may be sent to info@jewishisaiah53.com
We hope and pray that Jewish Isaiah 53.com will prove to be a guiding light for the lost among our people, and will serve as a beacon of truth to inquiring souls among the nations...more

online predators and intelligent madmen

Online predators, pornography, identity theft…and Jesus?
It’s 10pm. Do you know where your children are?
That was a popular public service announcement for parents seen on American television throughout the 1970s and 80s. Today, even if the kids are at home, they are most likely sitting behind closed doors whilst surfing and networking in cyberspace.
We know they run the risk of exposure to cyberporn, cyberbullying, spyware and viruses; but online Christian evangelists have – via social networking - given new meaning to the terms “online predators” and “identity theft".
Jews for Judaism's Ruth Guggenheim says, “There is no difference between a sexual predator on the Internet and a spiritual predator."

of intelligent madmen…
Some members of the Christian messianic community and press are frustrated by the delay in the trial of Yaacov Teitel. Teitel is reportedly in a psychotic state and may not be fit to stand trial.
Pastor David Ortiz believes Teitel is lying about his mental condition. He says, "Teitel is a very intelligent guy who carried out his crimes intelligently" and asks, "Does an intelligent man suddenly become insane for the trial?"
Jewish Israel understands the distress of the families of both victims and survivors, and their demand that justice be served. BUT the messianic and evangelical community in Israel is surely no stranger to criminal cases involving "intelligent" Christians which required thorough psychiatric assessments. The good, the bad and the ugly update

Review: The good, the bad and the ugly:
The Jewish people know that when it comes to fighting the Christian missionary onslaught in Israel, education and public awareness are two very important keys to winning the battle. Unfortunately, evangelical messianic Christians are using the same powerful public relations tools available in Israel - in Hebrew - to confuse and catch Jewish souls. Here's a recent rundown of the good, the bad, and the ugly taking place in lecture halls, in print publications, and on television...more
The Nation of Israel
An intriguing and thoughtful post by Jewish Israel member Jim Long:
"As a Noahide who loves G-d, Torah and the people of Israel, I'm wondering if it isn't time to stop referring to Judaism as a religion...Calling Judaism a religion fails to recognize that the Jews constitute a genuine nation, in every sense of the word... I cannot find any place in the Torah where G-d told Avraham Avinu that He would make him the father of a great religion....more

THERE WAS A TECHNICAL GLITCH EARLIER WITH THE ROSES POST AND IT IS NOW ACCESSIBLE IN FULL AT JEWISH ISRAEL. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE
Flowers for Jesus: Return to Sender:
Last week it was reported that officials in the Prime Minister’s office would not accept a donation of more than 1,000 dozen yellow roses from American Christians who were upset by reports of Obama’s treatment of Binyamin Netanyahu. This week's headlines report that the Prime Minister's office “was happy to get Christians’ roses”.
Jewish Israel thinks the agent and the agenda, rather than the gesture, caused the problem.
Taking a moral stand with Israel is a nice thing to do and some Gentiles like to say it with flowers. But next time use FTD as the conduit (or stick with lobbying Congress), as an evangelizing Janet Folger Porter, President and Founder of Faith2Action, packs a very thorny and loaded bouquet...more
Vatican continues to trip on crossed interfaith wires:
The state of Jewish-Catholic relations continues to deteriorate under Pope Benedict XVI. Two incidents on “Good Friday” caused outrage in the international Jewish community and elicited apologies from Rome.
Jewish Israel would like to note that any “shock” on the part of Jewish leaders seems a bit contrived at this point. Both scandals are part of a well-established pattern - woven with a flawed and deceptive thread – which appears to be an integral part of any tapestry spun by those engaged in attempts at Jewish-Christian conciliation...more

MKs attend missionary-sponsored conference in Rome
Posted by Jewish Israel
MKs representing the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus recently attended a conference in Rome for “Advancing United Judeo-Christian Strategy”.
The Summit was co-sponsored by missionaries Christine and Peter Darg of Exploits Ministries and CBN’s Italian 700 Club.
Jewish Israel has spent a lot of time and effort exposing the activities and agendas of a number of missionaries, but surely Christine and Peter Darg take the Pulitzer for proselytizing and pulling strings in Israel. We have posted multiple examples of the Darg’s evangelizing activities and deceptive agenda via blog postings, video excerpts, and reference materials.
As a written policy, the Caucus “condemns and refuses alliances with any groups that pursue the conversion of Jews to Christianity.” And the Caucus is purportedly “ legally bound to refrain from all connections with missionary groups in order to have NGO status”.
Those MKs and activists affiliated with the Knesset Christian Caucus have not only crossed red lines, but ironically and regrettably they have breached the very fences they established for themselves. ...more

Missionaries Exploit Chabad
Posted by Jewish Israel
Zev Isaacs of the Messianic Prophecy Bible Project recently sent out a newsletter featuring his infiltration of a Chabad Yeshiva. This mailing entitled,“Lubavitcher Jews in Israel SECRETLY BELIEVE in Yeshua as their Messiah!”is purportedly used to raise funds for the production of missionary literature.
Zev Isaac’s tactics are absolutely despicable as he has sent his evangelizing team to disrupt those praying at the Kotel; upset those preparing for Yom Kippur; and he has gone as far as to desecrate the memory of the dead in a Jewish cemetery for PR and marketing purposes.
Evangelizing Christians frequently use their spin on the beliefs of Chabad’s so-called “meshichist” faction to bolster arguments for the legitimacy of “messianic Judaism” in Eretz Yisrael.
At present, numerous Christian sects - who have purportedly abandoned their belief in the trinity, while retaining a belief in jesus as the Jewish messiah - are vying for legitimacy as branches of normative Judaism in Israel. They justify their beliefs by comparing them to the positions of certain factions of Chabad. And Israel’s courts and media are hearing the following from evangelical lawyers representing “messianic jews” in Israel:
"It is about time that they [Orthodox Jews] stop having a monopoly over determining who is a Jew. The beauty of the Jewish world is the diversity. If you can still be considered a Jew even if you believe that the Lubavitch Rebbe [Menachem Mendel Schneerson] is the messiah, the same thing should hold true if you believe Jesus is."
Jewish Israel feels it would be the ultimate desecration of the Rebbe’s name and all of his good work if the meshichist distortion is used by Christian sources to legitimize apostasy in Eretz Yisrael (G-d forbid).
At this troubled time, we respectfully call upon mainline Chabad leaders to take responsibility and issue a clear, unequivocal statement which draws the line between Christianity and Judaism and allays all misconceptions about Chabad’s beliefs.
Chabad is no stranger to optimistic and effective PR campaigns. Their messages often have universal appeal and are infused with special warmth, wisdom and Jewish humor. But this is no laughing matter. Jewish Israel hopes that responsible parties within Chabad will answer our challenge.
This is a report that should be read in full.
Happy Hanukah from Jewish Israel.

Evangelical Missionary Building Boon in Jerusalem:
Posted by Jewish Israel

Jewish settlements in Judea and Shomron may be frozen, but Christian missionaries are enjoying a real building boon in and around Jerusalem.
It should be understood that these buildings are not standard churches used strictly for private worship services. These are evangelistic institutions which place an emphasis on “outreach activities” and agendas which focus on the training of missionaries; missionary projects directed at Jews; and the strengthening of the apostate community in Israel.

Knesset Member Molla in Messianic Money Jam
In what could be a tale of double deception, it’s been reported that Kadima MK Shlomo Molla may have pocketed thousands of shekels in funds which were designated for the Ethiopian Jewish community by a very deceptive Christian missionary “rabbi” Jonathan Bernis of "the Jewish Voice". Jewish Israel provided vital information to members of the Israeli parliament on the web of missionary connections involved in this case...more
Daystar creeps back into Israel
Two years after being barred due to a public outcry, Israel cable TV provider HOT is once again broadcasting Daystar Television programming in Israel. When the TBN Russian affiliate launched back in August, Jewish Israel was concerned about the precedent this would set for other missionary networks to claim “the right” to spread Christian gospel in Israel, and whether this would mean that Daystar would be making a comeback. Well it seems we were late in the game, as Daystar was already up and broadcasting here. Will public pressure work this time?..more

Missionaries Rejoice over High Holiday Opportunities in Israel

Time for a High Holiday harvesting wrap-up...
Evangelical missionaries from the overt to the covert were especially active in Israel over the past few weeks. Jewish Israel offers comprehensive coverage of the “pilgrim’s progress" and reports of incidents ranging from missionaries in Bnai Brak to a massive Jews for Jesus campaign in the Jezreel Valley.
We also report on missionary mishaps on the part of the Israeli media, and top evangelical leaders unmask the true meaning behind the Christian Feast of the Tabernacles and Global prayer events in Jerusalem ( we have several new video clips)
Penina Taylor tries to help Rabbi Riskin with his root and branch issues.
We also cover the very strange and halachically challenging events which took place in Hevron last week…read the full report at Jewish Israel

The Waller Family: “Harvesting” in Israel
Posted by Jewish Israel
It’s Erev Succot and “harvest” time in Israel...
Tommy Waller and his family of 13, plus a company of many more, are here to help with the grape harvest and do other agricultural work in or near the communities of Har Bracha, Ariel, Itamar and Shiloh.
As devout evangelicals, the Wallers have a hankerin’ for “breaking barriers” and “planting the grapes in Samaria, with the people of Israel and at the same time, chipping away at that wall”[that separates Jews and Christians]. They are “dedicated as a family to sharing the Gospel of Yeshua (Jesus) by serving the people of Israel within the agricultural settlements and Kibbutzim."
Meanwhile, the Jews are obligated to keep those fences intact and avoid avoda zarah at all costs.
It’s not that the Wallers aren’t good, moral, upstanding Christians – because they are. It’s just that the old “one new man” and "grafted" thing keeps getting in the way.
If it helps clear the air, Jewish Israel would like evangelicals (and Jews for that matter) to understand that our avoidance of a theologically-based Jewish-Christian reconciliation is not due to generations of anti-Semitic baggage. Rather, it is an halachic issue of the highest order.
Jewish Israel explores the costs involved when we partner with those who help harvest our fields with the ultimate intentions of "harvesting our souls" and laying claim to our inheritance in Eretz Yisrael...more at Jewish Israel

Evangelical lawyer accuses Jewish rights groups of Gestapo tactics:
In this recent enewsletter outrage, Chief Counsel Calev Myers of the Jerusalem Institute of Justice accuses Jewish religious rights activists and rabbis of promoting “an agenda of religious-ethnic cleansing” and employing tactics “eerily similar to methods employed by the KGB and the Gestapo".
In a stunning and disturbing rant, Myers uses democratic doublespeak as a cover for his passion for christ. According to Myers, it is “a clear aberration of individual rights typically granted within a democratic system,”if a rabbi tries to question and determine whether or not potential converts to Judaism retain a belief in Jesus, or whether those with missionary intent fraudulently went through the conversion process.
Professor Richard Landes, a master at uncovering “the deceits of history” and modern journalism, describes the article entitled "Conversion and the Religious Gestapo" as “an appalling piece of hate speech which invokes democratic values, but really reflects a megalomanic paranoia that assumes that one's own motives and efforts are immaculate..."
Meanwhile, Pat Robertson’s pride and joy, Jay Sekulow of “Jews for Jesus” and ACLJ fame, has opened up a branch office in Jerusalem to fight “religious persecution”. Calev Myers sees Sekulow as his mentor, and we can now anticipate this very zealous dynamic duo’s upcoming efforts to persecute , oppress, and suppress the Torah observant community in the name of “religious freedom” and Jesus…more at Jewish Israel

Heichal Shlomo Deceived by Missionary Group : UPDATE #1
Posted by Jewish Israel

Jewish Israel has revised this posting due to new information received on August 30th. The management at Heichal Shlomo was aghast at reports that their facilities – including their Renanim Synagogue – were to be used by missionary Christine Darg and Women of the Walls for a worship convocation and banquet. The management at Heichal Shlomo at no time agreed to such usage of their facilities, nor had they seen the publicity and invitation advertising the events.
An advertisement and invitation has been disseminated by parties associated with Christine Darg, indicating that Heichal Shlomo is to be hosting a Christian “worship convocation” and banquet sponsored by evangelical missionary Christine Darg of Exploits Ministries. The event is scheduled for October 1, 2009 (a day before Erev Sukkot), and is being promoted as a prelude to ICEJ’s Feast of Tabernacles. The advertisement for the event calls for an afternoon “Daughter of Jerusalem” Worship Convocation in the 18th Century Renanim Synagogue of the Heichal Shlomo, followed by a banquet at the Heichel Shlomo.
Jewish Israel alerted our Rabbinic Advisor, Rabbi Dr. Sholom Gold. He immediately notified the relevant parties of this urgent and distressing matter. More details and a full report (with a likely positive outcome) is forthcoming.
Heichal Shlomo is a complex which for years served as the seat of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, and currently houses the Great Synagogue, the Jewish Heritage Museum, the Renanim Synagogue and a number of rabbinic offices.
A poster advertising “The Daughter of Jerusalem” Worship Convocation and Banquet can be seen here. The Daughter of Jerusalem facebook page created by Christine Darg was also carrying a graphic of the inivitation to Heichal Shlomo ( see advertisement page).
According to the ad, other known “messianic”(Christian) and evangelical personalities will be featured at the event. Also participating is at least one Knesset member and Jewish community leaders - including Josh Reinstein the Director of the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus. Christine Darg and her husband Peter regularly work with the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus and organize events for them.
In the past Reinstein has consistently denied working with missionary groups and has upheld the position that “The Christian Allies Caucus…refuses to work with the messianic Jewish community on the grounds that it actively seeks to convert Jews. ‘We believe they work against the interests of the State of Israel.” David Rotem, the current Chairman of the Knesset Christian Caucus also reaffirms that “the caucus's guidelines bar any connection with missionary groups.” And the Caucus admits that “it is legally bound to refrain from all connections with missionary groups in order to have NGO status”
However, according to a trustees report for Exploits Ministries, Christine and Peter Darg describe Exploits as “a missionary society.” Their objectives include taking "the Good News of Jesus Christ back to the Bible Lands where the Gospel began, to both Jew and Arab …”. A similar message is prominently featured on the Exploits Ministries web site homepage.
The Dargs have been directly involved in projects which target the Jewish people for conversion. Christine can be heard on radio describing her work and declaring that, “The Russian Jews are the most open Jewish people group to the gospel on the face of the earth at this moment. The Russians today were begging us for New Testaments … ". Peter Darg can be seen on video promoting a missionary publication on the New Testament in Hebrew, “It’s heartbreaking…that Jewish souls will be lost to eternity unless they come to know him [Jesus] as their Jewish Messiah…I encourage you to sponsor a chapter of the much needed bible so that you can show the love of Yeshua to the Jewish people here in Israel…”
Rabbi Glick of the Temple Institute can be seen in a video clip participating in a highly unorthodox ceremony with Christine Darg. The video was entitled, “Exploits Watching for the Return of Jesus to Jerusalem”
Other featured participants in the advertised Worship and Banquet event include the Christian Embassy’s Charmaine Hedding, Christian worship leader Rosalind Hershkovitz, Female Christian vocalist Vesna Bühler, and “messianic Musicians” Merv and Merla Watson.
Jewish Israel feels that the management of Heichal Shlomo was deceived and that it is more than disturbing that an Orthodox landmark and synagogue in Jerusalem was almost used for a Christian or interfaith worship gathering . This should serve as a wake-up call to the Jewish community to become aware of the prevalence of evangelical missionary deceptions and it should alert the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus and Knesset members to be fully aware of the evangelizing intentions and agenda of a number of the individuals and organizations that they work with.
The management of Heichal Shlomo reported that they had received numerous calls and emails from concerned parties (we have removed Heichal Shlomo's email and phone number in anticipation of a positive outcome to this matter.)

TBN Christian missionary television to target Russian immigrants:
Posted by Jewish Israel
Arutz 7 and Yad L'achim are reporting that the Trinity Broadcasting Network’s (TBN)- Russian affiliate “Rodnoy” is planning to launch Russian-language Christian programming in Israel.
Knesset members, the Jerusalem municipality, and private sector leaders in Israel have a grand celebration planned for this tragedy.
Jewish Israel has posted a letter from the President of TBN- Russia. He writes how, “The time has come…for Jews and gentiles alike, to grow together into one creation through Christ” and that “Its pleasing to consider the fact that the Israelis are waiting for us impatiently.”
Read it and weep. And after you wipe your tears, read Jewish Israel’s full report. and watch TBN missionaries in action in JI video clips here and here.

Bad messianic apples or rotten evangelical roots?
Posted by Jewish Israel

Anti-Semitic "Messianic" Apple doesn’t Fall Far from the Tree
Christian Missionaries Ari and Shira (Carole Lindsay) Sorko Ram of MaozIsrael Ministries target Jews for conversion and propagate “messianic judaism” in Israel. They enjoy support and endorsements from the biggest names in the "Christian Zionist” world - because they have yichus.
Writing and vlogging anti-Semitic ravings and accusations against the Orthodox Community and Torah Judaism has become a family affair as Shani(Sorko Ram)Ferguson joins in the family plan “to help further the evangelistic thrust into Israel”. Does the Lindsay-Sorko Ram-Ferguson clan represent a few bad apples, or are they at the core of a tree that is rotten – all the way down to its very evangelical roots?...Jewish Israel investigates.
Batting for Jesus: Baptist Village update
Last week Jewish Israel reported on an overt and growing missionary presence at the Baptist Village, in Petach Tikva, in anticipation of the Maccabiah 2009 baseball and softball games. We have an important and disturbing update to that report.
[note: Jewish Israel in no way wants to put a damper on the Maccabiah games nor discourage participation in a great event and sporting opportunity for Jewish athletes, and for Israel. However, we do feel that ground rules and guidelines must be established in order to ensure that those with an evangelizing agenda do not have access to our youth and other vulnerable sectors of Jewish and Israeli society. Those affiliated with the Baptist Village and the Southern Baptist Convention make no bones about their missionary intentions and aspirations. To promote the Maccabiah games as a missionary opportunity for targeting Jews is inappropriate, shameless and makes a mockery of the Jewish state. Submit your protest to the proper authorities listed in the report]
