We Were Not Illegal Migrants in Egypt!

It is a total distortion of history and theology to claim that we must sympathize with and help the illegals, because we "were foreigners in Egypt."
“‘Do not mistreat or oppress a foreigner, for you were foreigners in Egypt,’ Exodus 22:21 — How should we treat our refugees?”
Rabbi Shlomo Riskin’s insights into the Holiday of Passover
Biblical Jacob and family had been invited by the Pharaoh of the time to sit out the famine in Egypt where, due to Joseph's phenomenal administration, there was enough food. When the situation got better, our ancestors didn't rush back to the Holy Land. They felt too comfortable, and then afterwards, there was a new administration in Egypt. That new Pharaoh had forgotten that Jacob and family were privileged as a thank-you to all that Joseph had done. He enslaved them. And then the Jewish People were forbidden to leave. That's where the Passover Story begins.

I don't see how illegal migrants have anything in common with Jacob and family thousands of years ago. It pains me to see respected rabbis, like Rabbi Shlomo Riskin adopting Leftist ideology to Jewish History and Theology.

The illegal migrants come to Israel attracted by our high standard of living, a chance to live in a secure society with excellent healthcare and sympathetic, kind citizens, such as Rabbi Riskin. They know that they will be protected, their children educated and cared for. That's the type of society we have here in Israel. The illegals are also willing to take on jobs that very few Israelis want to do. But we didn't invite them and we don't owe them anything. The illegals are in no rush to leave Israel, because they know that they won't be enslaved.

We are not like the Egyptian Pharaoh. And the illegals are not like the Jews who were enslaved in Egypt. The neighborhoods in Israel in which the illegals live have become high crime areas. Veteran Israelis are in danger, and they are the ones we should be worrying about and caring for. Why don't I hear the rabbis, like Riskin, and politicians preaching that we must care for and protect Israelis from the dangers caused by the illegals?

Biblical/Ancient Jews Fleeing Egypt WERE NOT Refugees

What's a refugee?
a person who has been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster (google)
The Jews who left Egypt weren't refugees, because they weren't Egyptians. They were descendants of a foreign tribe, different religion and culture who had been invited to stay in Egypt during a time of extreme famine in their own land. One can say that when they arrived in Egypt they had been refugees at that time. But then, once there was a new ruler/Pharaoh policy towards them changed and they became enslaved, and they were denied all civil rights, including the right to go back to their homeland.

That is the Passover Story. It's about a People trying to return home to their Homeland. It's not about people aka refugees looking for better economic conditions, educational opportunities or security in a foreign land.

The Passover story is more like that of North African Jews being forced to hike thousands of miles to the Land of Israel or the European Jews on clandestine aliyah ships trying to sneak past the British forces that aimed to keep Jews out of the Holy Land.

The Clandestine Immigration and Naval Museum

Aliyah Bet Naval Museum
In the 20th Century version, the British prevented Jews from entering the Land of our Forefathers, even when they knew that staying in Europe meant certain death by the Nazis.

Despite it all, the Jewish People did manage to return Home and establish a modern state, the State of Israel. There is no other people in the world that has done anything similar, especially after a two thousand 2,000 year expulsion.

The State of Israel is miraculous, and that is proof that we are Gd's People.

Shabbat Shalom and Chag Pesach Sameach!
Have a Peaceful Shabbat and a Joyous Passover Holiday!

Canada, Beware! SECURITY RISK!

credit
I keep wondering if this isn't a joke, because if the Canadian Trudeau Government didn't bother counting the children in the Syrian families they accepted as refugees, how thorough was the security check they did?
Canada: We didn’t know that refugees had so many children
Canada is having difficulty dealing with the absorption of Syrian refugees and the Minister of Immigration explains that the government didn’t take into account the size of Syrian families in planning to care for them.
Canada has accepted 32 thousand* refugees this year...
Frightening, isn't it?

All refugees aren't the same, and one should never equate the Jews who fled Nazi Europe or Arab countries with today's Syrian refugees.

Remember that, even at their best, refugees bring to their new countries the cultures of the old country. When masses of immigrants came to Israel from the USSR, which soon after collapsed completely, they knew how to "work the system" getting the best benefits possible and brought their great study habits. They learned Hebrew amazingly quickly and well, even most adults. But they also brought their drinking culture, which didn't exist in Israel before.

Countries accepting Syrian refugees should take into account that they come from a very violent culture and follow a strong Muslim lifestyle. Their aim isn't to integrate and assimilate. Look at all of the problems in France. After a decade, or even less, life will be much more difficult than that in the countries that have welcomed Syrian refugees. Parts of Europe are already suffering.

Good luck to Canada.

Jews, remember that you have a home in Israel!

*apparently the number only refers to the adults, not the true total which would include children

World Getting More Dangerous

For all of those who have repeated the awful mantra about Israel being "too dangerous" to go to, I'd like to remind you that the world is getting more and more dangerous. The terrorism that so many found as "only in Israel"has spread far and wide, in Europe and the United States and further afield. Read Ruthie Blum's article,  Germany ‘Waking Up to New Reality’ Similar to Israel’s, Say Frightened Residents in Wake of Shooting, Machete, Suicide-Bombing Attacks by Mideast Refugees. Besides the muslim terrorists, illegals aka refugees, there are the usual American lone shooter nutcases.

For years I've been saying/writing that by making excuses for and accepting the Arab terrorism in Israel, it would just make the terrorists stronger and braver. That's why Arab/moslem terrorism is spreading all over the world.

Since I'm sitting shiva for my brother, I do not have the time to write in any more detail.

Syrian Refugees: Why aren't They Clamoring to Find Refuge in Arab Countries?

Besides Syria, there are close to two dozen Arab countries, some pretty close to Syria, and some are extremely modern and affluent.

Considering the difficulties all immigrants have learning new languages and adjusting to new cultures, norms and school curriculums, you'd think that the innumerable syrians fleeing their country would make a beeline to nearby Arab countries.

* There is no "State of Palestine" and has never ever been one!

Considering the amount and variety of Arab countries, many of which have extremely low population density, shouldn't they be the main countries welcoming Syrians fleeing their homes?

Israel Resource Review
This is an important question. Jordan has accepted some refugees, but I wonder if they will let them become Jordanians. Since 1948, they have kept their fellow Arabs from Israel in refugee camps enthusiastically supported by the United Nations aka UNRWA. Almost seventy years after the establishment of the State of Israel, these refugee camps are  still being used to indoctrinate and train terrorists to attack and destabilize Israel.

The vast majority of Syrian refugees, seem to have been able to afford to get much further away than Jordan. Considering the price the smugglers and agents demand per head, there must be someone funding this massive exodus to Europe, the Americas etc.

I suggest three simple reasons why the fleeing Syrians are not flocking to other Arab countries:

  1. There are people/organizations encouraging/funding them to attempt to enter other countries and societies. There are two reasons for this, humanitarian and to get sleeper terrorists into those other countries.
  2. The Arab countries are not looking for fellow Arabs to increase their populations.
  3. The refugees want to get as far from Syria and Arab culture as they can.
What do you think?

Please write your opinion in the comments thanks.
