Turkey Falling Apart, "Jinxed" by Israel Agreement?

Just a few weeks ago Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu considered himself very lucky to come to an agreement with Turkey.
Netanyahu said that with both the world and the region going through enormous changes, it is important to create islands of stability*, and this accord does that with Turkey. He said that his strategy is to create these points of stability in ties with some Arab states in the region, with Greece and Cyprus, and with Russia. Jerusalem Post
I'd consider that a major miscalculation on the part of Bibi, since less than a month later Turkey is suffering from major instability.

It's just another lesson, since the beginning of the Jewish People, that we can't shouldn't rely on foreign leaders/countries for help. When we do the right thing, then Gd will help us! That is how this week's Parshat Shavua, Torah Portion of the week ends. Balak, Bamidbar 25

"Safe" Turkish Airport Explodes in Terror Attack!

Different news sites are reporting various numbers of dead and casualties from last night's bombing of the Turkish Airport.

I guess we won't have the exact numbers immediately.

Three suicide bombers opened fire then blew themselves up in Istanbul's main international airport on Tuesday, killing 36 people and wounding close to 150 in what Turkey's prime minister said appeared to have been an attack by Islamic State militants.
One attacker opened fire in the departures hall with an automatic rifle, sending passengers diving for cover and trying to flee, before all three blew themselves up in or around the arrivals hall a floor below, witnesses and officials said.
The attack on Europe's third-busiest airport was one of the deadliest in a series of suicide bombings in Turkey, which is part of the U.S.-led coalition against Islamic State and is struggling to contain the spillover from neighboring Syria's civil war. It is also battling an insurgency by Kurdish militants in its largely Kurdish southeast.
Police fired shots to try to stop two of the attackers just before they reached a security checkpoint at the arrivals hall, but they detonated their explosives, a Turkish official said. (Reuters)

On the Israeli TV news last night, the commentators kept repeating that the Turkish airport is considered one of the safest in the world. It begins its luggage inspections at the entrance to the airport (if I followed what he said) and not in the departure lounge. But I think we all know that when terrorists are determined, we must have Gd on our side, willing to lend a Hand, aka siyate d'Shmaya, in order to escape or minimize the damage.

Also, we know perfectly well that Turkey supports Arab terrorism against Israel. That is what the Mavi Marmara Flotilla was all about. Those who harbor and legitimize terrorism against others shouldn't be surprised when terrorists terrorize them, turning them into targets. That is what has been happening in Turkey. All countries that think that they can pacify terrorists by offering them Israel as an accepted target are completely wrong. Look at Europe, France, Belgium etc.

Israeli Debacle in Turkish Agreement!

Simply put:
I am embarrassed to be an Israeli!
Elder of Ziyon

Turkey supported an armed terror ship towards Israel, the Marmara, and now Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu has agreed to pay them as if we're guilty!!!
Netanyahu traveled to Rome on Sunday to meet U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Israeli and Turkish officials were also in the Italian capital to finalize the deal.
Israel, which had already offered its apologies - one of Ankara's three conditions for a deal - for its lethal raid on the Mavi Marmara activist ship, agreed to pay out $20 million to the bereaved and injured, the Israeli official said in a briefing to Israeli reporters traveling with Netanyahu. (Reuters)

I am so disgusted that Bibi is paying off these terrorists and terror supporters. It will just encourage them to kill more Jews.

Sweden, Pro-Gaza = Enemy of Israel

Sweden is now a full member in the infamous list of enemies of Israel having launched a pro-Gaza terror flotilla, like Turkey's, to defy Israel's security blockade.
A Swedish flotilla of anti-Israel activists has left its home country and is en route to Gaza with the goal of breaking the Israeli naval blockade around the coastal territory, Israel’s Channel 2 reported on Monday.
The Swedish flotilla is expected to disembark in a number of additional countries before it reaches the Gaza Strip in an effort to assemble other activists from across Europe.
According to the report, several activist organizations are supporting the flotilla, including FreeGaza, which works to delegitimize Israel in the international community.  (Algemeiner)
No doubt we all remember that the so-called humanitarian sic aid on that Turkish flotilla.

Published on Jun 4, 2010From the IDFDesk.
The opening footage of the video shows knives, rods, wrenches, gas masks, bulletproof vests, and binoculars found on the ship and gathered at the Port of Ashdod. IDF soldiers then reenact how rioters prepared weaponry by using electric saws to remove metal poles from the stairs and other parts of the ship in order to attack the soldiers. The closing seconds of the film come from actual footage found on the Marmara showing the demonstrators preparing the weaponry.
It should also be mentioned that the "aid" which is sitting in 20 trucks, has still not been accepted for entry to Gaza, by Hamas.
Maybe the only aid that Hamas wanted is the weaponry, including the yellow wrist slingshots, which are illegal in all of Australia and many states, since they can kill. These slingshots can penitrate a human skull.
Metal bars, as shown here are the basic part of almost every weapon that shoots,ie., guns, rifles, pipe bombs, etc.
They had it filled with weapons to attack and murder Jews.

Remember that any friend and ally of our enemy is our enemy, too!

Can France Be Trusted to Prevent Arab Muslim Terrorism?

Here's the statement of the French Ambassador (Breitbart News):
FRENCH AMBASSADOR: FRANCE IS AT WAR WITH RADICAL ISLAM

Maybe I'm just a bit too jaded, but the fact that the head of Fatah, Hamas's great ally Mahmoud Abbas was invited by France to the "anti-terror rally" makes me very doubtful that France takes Arab Muslim terrorism seriously enough.

The Guardian

The countries represented at the rally, besides the P.A. have very few, if any, that have a zero tolerance policy towards terrorism. Not only did Abbas attend, but so did the Turkish Prime Minister. And please don't forget that Turkey is one of the greatest supporters of Hamas and Gaza terrorism against Israel.

As usual, nothing new, we can't trust any of the promises from world leaders when it comes to Arab Muslim terror.

The Politics of Noodles aka Boycotting Turkey

Since I work in Yafiz, Sha'ar Binyamin I've found myself doing a lot of shopping in the Rami Levy discount supermarket. We're all part of the same "complex" and business. Especially when you consider that our "public toilets" are in Rami Levy, in the back near the bread, I do go in quite frequently. And I do enjoy the good prices which Rami Levy can offer, since he has an enormous business.

One of the things I began buying there was pasta. There's always a special which cost much less than at our neighborhood store. And of course they are all kosher so I just look at the price and shape. Then a few months ago, I noticed in a comment on facebook about Turkey being Israel's enemy and the hypocrites who buy cheap Turkish noodles... Hmmm... Eeks! Gevalt, could that be me?

I don't like being a hypocrate, so the next time I went noodle shopping, I turned around the packages and looked carefully on its back through the bottom of my multifocal glasses:

Yes, those cheap noodles are from Turkey!

Finally I found these.

I guess that most of  the  pasta on Israeli supermarket shelves, along with Rami Levy's house-brand, Hamutag, is now imported.

So the past couple of times I had to stock up on pasta, instead of looking at "price only," I peered very closely at the fine print on the back of packages. We have never been in the market for a cheap Turkish vacation, so the only economic boycott we can join is the "Pasta Boycott."  So, please join us and if necessary take along a magnifying glass when shopping.

Our Enemy's Ally is Our Enemy

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is again barking up the wrong tree in his quest for reconciliation with Turkey.  Money can't buy us love.

Paying off Turkey will still make Turkey an ally of Gaza, the Arab terrorist "entity" that keeps shooting dangerous missiles at Israel.
In January, government figures show, Gaza-based terror groups fired three times as many rockets at Israel as during an average month in 2013. These included 20 mortar and rocket attacks on Israel’s southern communities, two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) set off on the Gaza-Israel border and two incidents where the IDF stopped militants attempting to launch rockets.

The fact that G-d controls the point of landing and has been protecting us does not reduce or eliminate their potential danger, nor the unbridled aggression against Israel.
Last week Haaretz reported that Israel has offered to pay $20 million in compensation to the families of the nine people killed during an Israeli commando raid on the Turkish ship Mavi Marmara in May 2010, as well as to those in the incident.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had authorized his envoys to go as high as $23 million in order to secure an agreement...
...Speaking at a press conference in Ankara alongside Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, Erdogan said that negotiations with Israel have progressed, but have not ended. He added that Turkey has received an apology from Israel, and that talks over compensation for the families of those killed and wounded on the Mavi Marmara ship in 2010 are ongoing. However, Erdogan said the lifting of the siege over the Gaza Strip – which was one of the conditions set by Turkey for normalizing relations – has not yet transpired. "Nothing will happen without lifting the siege on Gaza," he said.

Pictures of Weapons Found on the Mavi Marmara Flotilla Ship, 31 May 2010

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is saying all this in total public. There's nothing secret about his policy. Only Israel is ignoring the truth and wasting time, effort money and whatever is left of our good name.

Let's Demand a Moratorium to Peace Talks!

I suggest, in all seriousness that Israel declare a moratorium  to peace talks.  Simply, we aren't interested  until the Arabs come begging.  The State of Israel shouldn't beg anyone for peace.

We aren't the aggressors.  We live peacefully with our Arab neighbors.  The aggression, terror, threats and war come from them not us.  So they have nothing to fear from us, from Israel.

It probably will take at least a couple of generations if not longer.  That's no problem.  In the meantime we'll do what is really important.  We will develop and strengthen the State of Israel and make it more Jewish and more secure.  Our economic growth is far better than the United States and Europe.  No doubt more and more Jews will come to live here.  And many Jewish immigrants will want to live all over, including Judea and Samaria.

We must also stop taking advice and orders from foreign countries.  If they're so smart why is our economy better?

If a foreign dignitary, official visiting or a foreign ambassador calls us aggressors, insults or threatens us, like the Turkish and even American ones, we must expel them and declare them persona non grata.  Within no time, we will gain international respect.  If any Israeli media, politician, academic or whatever join in criticizing the IDF or Israeli Government for defending Israel and its citizens, they must be arrested.  That Turkish flotilla aggression would have blown over a long time ago if only we had behaved this way.  They should have had apologized.  Israel did absolutely nothing wrong!

What a Week! Obama's Choices and Turkey and Iranian Elections A La Latma

Let's start with Latma's news report from Turkey, Iranian elections and other tidbits.

Caroline Glick and her Tribal Update writers get it Right for sure.

Ruthie Blum thinks that things can't get much worse when it comes to United States President Obama,   Rice and Power can't make things worse, but in a rare move, I disagree.  I do agree with what Blum writes about Obama, Rice and Power, but I think it's dangerous to ever think that things can't get worse.
"Indeed, Rice's appointment exemplifies the low-life political workings of the Obama administration: The better someone is at covering the president's tracks, the more he or she is rewarded for it. In Rice's case, this involved the Benghazi horror. After four Americans, among them Ambassador Christopher Stevens, were killed in a carefully planned terrorist attack in Libya last Sept. 11, Rice wittingly and willingly became liar-in-chief for the White House and State Department. With gusto and disdain she hit the airwaves to perpetuate the bald-faced prevarication that the murders in Benghazi were the unfortunate result of a spontaneous Arab protest that had erupted as a result of an American-made video critical of Islam's Prophet, Muhammad.
Much as been written recently about what went on in Benghazi prior to the attack. One key theory is that the Obama administration had armed revolutionaries in Libya and Syria, and that Stevens was in the process of retrieving American weapons from Libyan jihadists when the policy was understood to be a bad one. It is believed that because Obama did not want any of this to emerge in time for it to harm his chances for re-election, he basically abandoned Stevens and the others to the killers. Whatever other facts come to light in the future, one is certain: A Special Forces rescue operation was not approved....

This is not the only reason for her promotion, however. Two others are equally relevant. One is that a presidential appointee for national security adviser is not required to obtain congressional confirmation. This means that Rice won't have to undergo any grilling that might expose her and her bosses' falsehoods.
The second is that, as national security adviser, Rice will enjoy the umbrella of the president's "executive privilege," granting her immunity from charges of contempt if she declines to testify in hearings on the Benghazi scandal.
Criticism of the Samantha Power nomination is centered on statements she made about Israel more than a decade ago. In 2002, when she was the director of Harvard's Carr Center for Human Rights Policy, Power gave an interview to University of California professor Harry Kreisler on a college campus radio show. When asked by Kreisler what she would advise the president if there were a serious human-rights crisis in "Israel-Palestine," she gave a glib answer indicating that she would support sending the U.S. military to protect the Palestinians from Israel."

When people say that, it's like an eyin haraa causing things to davka get worse.

Looking at The Whole Picture versus The Danger of a Distorted Image

The following picture has been making the rounds on facebook and other internet sites:

I'm not sure of the original source, but from the first time I spotted it, I  just knew that I had to write about it.

Here we are in the twenty-first century.  With computers, internet, smartphones, tablets etc., it's incredibly easy to do research  history, find out simple facts, truth. So how has the "Palestinian sic myth" taken such hold.  Supposedly educated, intelligent people are convinced that there had been an Arab Palestinian state which was invaded by Jews, the Zionists, and replaced by the State of Israel.

Just like the very cropped version of the picture here which only shows an IDF soldier hitting an Arab on the ground, too many people shorten the title this Land was given by the League of Nations in July, 1922, British Mandate for Palestine.
The Mandate system was instituted by the League of Nations in the early 20th century to administer non-self-governing territories*. The mandatory power, appointed by an international body, was to consider the mandated territory a temporary trust and to see to the well-being and advancement of its population.
In July 1922, the League of Nations entrusted Great Britain with the Mandate for Palestine. Recognizing "the historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine," Great Britain was called upon to facilitate the establishment of a Jewish national home in Palestine-Eretz Israel (Land of Israel).  *The italics and bold here are mine.
There never, ever was a country called Palestine. Even on my relatively old and slow computer, it took just seconds to get this information.

It's a good idea to look at this phrase, which I highlighted:

non-self-governing territories

What does that really mean?  It means that there was no independent country, no state.  Actually, prior to the decision to entrust Great Britain with those territories, to prepare the Jewish population to rule it.  The Jewish People had always been present in the Holy Land and were the only people who had self-rule there with thousands of years of history including many kings, judges etc. all recorded in the Bible. That's the same Bible also read and recognized by Christians.

From the destruction of the Second Holy Temple in Jerusalem until the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, the Land was held/governed by invaders.  Prior to the British Mandate, the Ottomans (Turks) ruled for four hundred years.
The Turks ruled Palestine almost uninterruptedly for four hundred years. The only break in their rule was from 1832-1840 when Muhammet Ali, an Egyptian vassal of the Turkish Empire revolted against his patrons and conquered Palestine, Syria and parts of Asia Minor. However, with the assistance of the British and the Russians, the Ottomans regained control of the area. The price of this assistance was various capitulations to foreign governments that increasingly undermined the Turkish domination of the area. By the latter part of the century it was clear that without European assistance, the Ottoman Empire would have collapsed.
The Ottomans never controlled Palestine as a single unit. Instead they divided the immediate and surrounding areas into a number of villayets (districts) whose boundaries altered over the years.

At no point was there ever a "Palestine."

The idea of a "Palestine" was created to sabotage the mandated Jewish State. The lie has taken off and is considered true fact/history by most of the world including the major world leaders such as United States President Barack Hussein Obama, academics, intellectuals and the media, even Jews and in Israel.  The name/term "Palestine" was used to designate some land on a map, but there never was an actual people, culture etc. by that name.

We must reveal, publicize the full, complete picture.  Only the Jewish People have a national history in this part of the world.  It's our Land and nobody else's.

There's Nothing "Right" in Our Unnecessary Groveling Apology to Turkey

In another disgusting display of obedience to the modern Pharaoh, Israel has groveled before Turkish-American pressure to admit to and apologize for faux faults.  The Jerusalem Post has it all wrong; there's nothing "right" in this embarrassing and disgraceful government action.

Regional realities require that Israel now swallow a bitter pill and do what is right, for the future of Israel, the region and our common interests with the United States.

The inexcusable and undiplomatic aggression was by the Turkish Government, not by Israel.  Esser Agaroth got it right, not the editors of the Jerusalem Post.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu expresses an apology over the deaths of a pack of thugs with iron bars and knives, who were killed in self-defense by the Israeli troops who had boarded the boat for inspection.
U. S. President Obama believes this crap about having the restoration of Israeli-Turkish ties in his pocket.
Supposedly symbolic Israeli President Peres thinks this crap about Israel and Turkey having 1,000 reasons to be friends.
And they both seem to be wrong, because in response, Turkish Prime Minister Erdoğan has been talking crap about how Israel should not expect normal ties despite Netanyahu's apology, and then there is this crap about his planning a trip to Gaza. If you cannot connect the dots on your own here, then you are delusional.
Israel's dangerous apology will only encourage more and more terror, simple physics and history have shown this to be true.  Life was so much safer in Israel before this faux "peace" began.  The very early years after the 1967 Six Days War were heaven.  The Arabs feared us and we could ride Arab buses and go all over Judea, Samaria, Gaza, the Jordan Valley and the Golan without fear.  That was peace.

The post 1967 Six Days War peace was destroyed by the Israeli Left, which kept offering the Arabs the Land we had just liberated.  When the Arabs realized that Israel didn't understand the enormity of our victory, then Syria and Egypt conspired to attack Israel from the north and south on the holiest day of the Jewish Year, Yom Kippur, in 1973.

The miracle of our 1973 victory was even greater than the one in 1967, because we were so mentally unprepared.  Most Israelis firmly believed the fantasy that the Arabs would never dare attack us again after the 1967 victory.  And we also believed the myth that our defense structures were impregnable.  We trusted in the "might of men," the IDF and Leftist ideology, rather in G-d Almighty.

Today's belief that we must obey United States President Barack Hussein Obama, rather than standing tall and following G-d is just too déjà vu for me. I truly hope and pray that we don't have to learn the hard way.

Learning From The Turkish Wringer

Turkey has now crowned its growing list of antisemitic, anti-Israel acts by upgrading diplomatic threats in response to a silly faux pax by Danny Ayalon, Israel's Deputy Foreign Minister.

There's something to learn from this.

No, it's not to treat Turkey (and other countries) more diplomatically.  It's how we should be responding to diplomatic insults, antisemitic and anti-Israel acts and statements by other nations.

First of all, Israel must recognize that most, if not all, of our "close friendships" with other nations are very one-sided.  We consider them great friends and they just like our tourist and import money.  If our business is good for their economy their palms are open, but their hearts are closed.  The Israeli mentality just doesn't get it.  This is a very dangerous syndrome.  It just causes more abuse, diplomatic slights and worse.

Ayalon's juvenile staging of his meeting with the Turkish Ambassador by sitting himself "higher" is just another example of why he isn't suited for a high ranking position in Israel.

We must stop accommodating and accepting diplomatic and cultural slights and actions.  Each one must be reacted to in a serious way.  Let's start with the disgraceful fact that foreign countries don't recognize Jerusalem as Israel's Capital City.  The foreign embassies are in the Tel Aviv area.  In response, we must relocate our embassies to other cities in those countries.  If our Capital City is slighted, then it must be clear and obvious that we'll do the exact same thing to every other country.

When foreign cultural icons exhibit antisemitic and anti-Israel acts, we must react with threats of withdrawing our ambassador and do it if the offending object isn't stopped and withdrawn. Only when we begin to respect ourselves will others do so.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu should have protested the antisemitic Turkish TV program and not delegated it to Ayalon.

It's all up to us, but it's not about being "nicer."  It's about self-respect.

Sportsmanship?

Israeli basketball players learned the hard way that, sport isn't an escape from reality. Bnai Hasharon basketball team was violently "booed" off the court in Ankara.

"We arrived at the arena under heavy security. There were 1,500 policemen in the arena, 500 of them in plain clothes. The fans waved Palestinian flags and shouted abuse towards Israel," Akunis said.

"As the game was set to begin they stormed the court and we raced towards the dressing rooms. Our players are in shock and all we want at the moment is to return back home."
Team captain Meir Tapiro said only the police's intervention prevented the players from being attacked.
"The fans raced on to the court and ran towards us like madmen, but the police stopped them. It was really scary," he said.
And Israel got another lesson that Turkey isn't our friend. Many Israelis like to vacation in nearby Turkey, considering it a benign Moslem country, where you can stay at a luxury hotel for less than a comparable resort in Eilat. The problem is that you may get an unwanted bonus, and you can never be sure who will benefit from the money you've paid.
