Gaza War Musings #78 Deals Don't Bring Peace!! Israel Must Act as an Independent Sovereign Country!!

 

Unfortunately, our weak, woke hapless Prime Minister Binyamin Bibi Netanyahu has relinquished our sovereignty to American President Donald Trump. We never hear Bibi forcibly and confidently objecting to Trump's plans, deals and demands reminding him that he is President of the USA, and he has no authority over Israel. Actually, I don't think we hear anyone in the Israeli Government say that we're not property of the United States. 

Israelis, whether politicians, officeholders, journalists or just plain citizens should be protesting in every way possible about American interference in our security. The USA is not a loyal ally. Its government and policies change with the wind, depending on the moods and priorities of its politicians, military and bureaucrats. 

Please remember well that when former US President Harry Truman ordered the American UN Ambassador to vote in favor of Partition for a Jewish State and a few months later officially recognized the State of Israel, he was forcibly defying the State Department's directives. 

American Government bureaucracy, like the Israeli, considers itself superior to the elected executive and legislature. That is actually what the attempt for Judicial Reform was about. Bibi didn't fight for it, nor taking down the Defense Department's glass ceiling, because he needs the support of the bureaucrats to stay in office. He's not a fighter. He loves the limelight, but his true power is much smaller than people think.

Back to Trump and his deals...

Donald Trump is a business man, a real estate mogul. He's neither a military man, a theologian nor a historian. Bringing true peace to "the Middle East" is 10,000% different from developing Manhattan's West Side and turning a dangerous deteriorating slum area into a beautiful, popular upper-middleclass neighborhood. Turning a muddy Manhattan shoreline into an attractive park walking distance from new lovely, attractive apartment houses takes totally different skills and mindset compared to turning terrorist Gaza into a peaceful society. 

Poverty isn't the reason for the popularity and dominance of terrorism in Gaza. Gazans could grow their own food, plus for export if they wanted to. But they don't want to and they don't need to. Most of the outside world wants to see them as "starving," so instead of using their energies and manpower for farming and industry, as the Jewish residents of the very successful Gush Katif did, they prefer "charity" so they can use their energy and money to attack Israel in the cruelest of ways.

Think about it.

And back to the fiction that a deal can end a war... 

Would a "deal" have stopped Nazi Germany or Japan?

What's going to happen 12 noon on Shabbat? Jerusalem time or Washington DC? Not clear to me...

Hamas isn't afraid of Bibi. That's for sure. It has been revealed that Gazans were readying for a surrender over a year ago, but then Bibi followed Biden's orders and began feeding the Gazans... so we lost.

Bibi is more American than I am.

I feel no loyalty, nor do I have any trust in the USA. The American State Department, Defense Department etc don't know what's best for Israel and have never cared about our survival. Way back when, during Harry Truman's presidency, he was told by the State Department not to vote "yes" in the infant United Nations for a Jewish State. Truman defied them.

Two decades later, when Egypt was threatening to destroy Israel with the help of their allies, Syria and Jordan. The USA was quiet.

Six years later they knew all about Egypt's plan to attack Israel and refused to warn Israel. Read Deceit of an Ally by Bruce Brill.

Almost a half a century later, deja vu, Biden was flown to Israel by his handlers to force Bibi to treat Hamas Gaza with kid gloves, send in "humanitarian aid" and continue with the farcical fokokt "moral" waste of our weapons to protect "innocent" Gazans civilians. Of course this totally ignores the fact that Gazan civilians are terrorists and invaded, murdered Gazans civilians, raped, decapitated, incinerated truly innocent Israelis on October 7, 2023. And the Americans quickly announced that their plan for "after" was to establish a Palestinian State. Their timing is very suspicious... It takes years for the State Department to plan things... right? So, the chances are... the attack wasn't a surprise for the Americans...

Hamas/Gaza War Musings #16 Israel's Victory Sabotaged by The USA-- OF COURSE WE SHOULD JUST SAY NO!

 

Deja Vu!

American interference in Israel's WAR FOR SURVIVAL against Hamas/Gaza is dangerous and deceitful. The USA doesn't want us to win. It wants us to beg and then crumble as the Americans set up an Arab terror state in Israel's historic heartland. 

I find it totally insanely preposterous that the State of Israel thinks that the USA knows more about winning wars than we do. They haven't actually won a war for close to eighty 80 years, and World War Two would have dragged on for many more years -if not longer- if they hadn't dropped the bomb.

The two greatest and most unexpected victories in the twentieth century were Israel's The IDF's, in the 1967 Six Days War and the 1973 Yom Kippur War. I'm not exaggerating. And to be honest, Israel almost lost in 1973, because the USA leaders kept lying and misleading Israel. Read Deceit of an Ally and listen to Bruce Brill

During the Yom Kippur War I was a young mother of two living in Jerusalem, and as I listened to the news and read the paper I became convinced that something was wrong. Prime Minister Golda Meir seemed addicted to consulting with America, especially Henry Kissinger who seemed to have too much influence on our -meaning the Israeli- government. I had this awful feeling that Kissinger and Nixon, who had been US President at the time, had envisioned Israel becoming too weak to win and then agree on being a "protectorate" of the USA. Then Kissinger would come to "lead/save" us. 

A couple of decades later I discovered from various sources that my suspicions were pretty close to the truth. America knew about the war well before the first bullet was fired, and they continuously told Israel that they shouldn't go on alert, because the Arabs weren't planning any attack.

Here we are fifty 50 years later, and again it seems obvious that the United States is interfering, trying to sabotage Israel's success in this war for our very survival. Unfortunately in the past half century, we've become more dependent on getting shopping coupons aka "gift cards" tied with noose-like strings for American military equipment. Even some of our own military inventions need parts from the states, which we can't even buy without the American "approval." We must totally wean ourselves from the USA. 

The American State Department has always been against Israel and had recommended to Harry Truman not to vote for Israeli statehood. Truman disagreed and had his ambassador vote "yes" at the United Nations.

More recently, the USA has interfered in Israeli elections by supporting the Leftist parties, and more recently it has been shown that all sorts of foreign money has been supporting the anti-Bibi, anti-judicial reform and get the hostages out NOW movements. Once the USA opened up and stated that they were planning on establishing an Arab country, which they'd call Palestine" in the Heartland of Israel, it became clear that the war was part of the plan. The Americans must have had this planned and knew it could only happen if they weakened Israel first. This is my gut feeling. I can't prove it yet, but it makes sense to me.

The bottom line is that we shouldn't trust America. They speak with "forked tongue" like the bad guys in old cowboy movies.

Thankfully Not All Israelis Embarrassed Themselves Over Biden's Visit

Everyone who heard that I would be in Jerusalem today thought I had lost my mind; even I had doubts. But since cousins were in from the states, and this was their only day...

Why was this considered a ridiculous irresponsible day to be in Jerusalem?

Street closings for the Biden visit were expected to wreck havoc in Jerusalem. Well, that may have been true in some neighborhoods, but not the routes I and my cousins would be taking to meet each other. 

Israel always goes overboard when top American officials show up, and I'm not just talking about closing major roads and highways. Prime Minister Lapid and President Herzog were smiling so broadly, you'd think they just won the lottery, Nobel Peace Prize and had been crowned Kings of The World.

The so-called pundits on television stupidly took Biden's speech seriously confusing a "speech" with policy. Every time an American President comes they make the same idiotic mistake, and that includes the visits of Clinton, the Bushes and even Obama. Each president, no matter how little they think of Israel comes armed with an amazing pro-Israel speech. And each time we hear the same dumb commentary by pundits and reporters who think that these "I love Israel" speeches are actual policy. It's all cosmetics, like hair dye and plastic surgery.  

The young and memory challenged in the media either forgot or never knew and didn't research that it was davka Biden who was nasty to then Prime Minister Menachem Begin. Besides that, the United States has never really supported the State of Israel when we were in danger. To be honest, I don't care, since Gd's help from our prayers is what we really need. I'd just prefer that our government officials understand it, besides not making up stories about "friendship." We're not allies. We can't rely on the USA. The State Department makes real policy there. Donald Trump overrode it in favor of Israel, consistently going against State Department demands. That's a major reason why he is so hated in Washington DC. But that's another story.

Davka, today I walked through both the Arab shuq in the Old City and the Machaneh Yehuda Market besides taking the lightrail. 

It was business as usual in the Jerusalem I visited. There was no sign of the Biden visit until I got on the bus going home, and the driver was listening to the radio. But I don't pick fights with the bus drivers... I just took out my book and read it.

Dangers of "Half" or "Partial" Sovereignty

Yesterday our local senior citizen whatsapp group was full of panicky posts trying to make sense out of the rumors, incomplete leaks, incomprehensible maps and news about possible "half-sovereignty," sic.

Deja vu the old United Nations Partition Plan, this partial or half-sovereignty will cause major inconvenience at best and more death by terrorism for sure. A splattering of Jackson-Pollock style splashes in the Land of Israel makes no sense. There's no legal, security or moral reason for such a thing.

"Half" or "Partial" Sovereignty will only fill more cemeteries 

Shades of Barack Hussein Obama and his predecessors, the latest threats by United States officials are no different from FDR's refusal to allow Jews fleeing Hitler to get refuge in America and Truman's State Department which had recommended not recognizing the Jewish State in the UN vote.

Nothing has changed. We're on our own, and we're best off like that. Remember that the State of Israel had no foreign allies during the Six Days War, and that was the best. Let the world butt out, including Trump and Kushner.

Why Should Kerry have Expected Bibi to Kowtow to Him?

Honestly, John Kerry should just get over it. His Democratic Party lost the 2016 Presidential Elections, and the winner, Donald Trump has a very different outlook and policy vis a vis Israel. Add to that the very simple fact that the Israeli public has voted Likud into office for most of the past forty years and totally reject American State Department policies.

Another thing re: John Kerry is that he's not even popular in the United States. What recent elections has he won? Obama chose him as Secretary of State when Hillary Clinton decided to devote her energies into her failed presidential campaign. Kerry's a nobody, Hillary's a loser and Obama is history.

If you check recent Israeli polls you'll see that the Right-Religious bloc consistently beat out the Secular Left, and number two to Binyamin Netanyahu as prefered Prime Minister is "Don't Know" or "none of the above."

None of the Israeli political parties or Leftist politicians supported by Kerry and his backers have the true potential to garner the necessary trust to put together a successful ruling coalition. The Americans have interfered in Israeli politics/elections in the past and most probably the present, too, all unsuccessfully, except for the notoriously very short-lived Ehud Barak government.

Don't forget the outrageous and unprecedented campaign lame-duck Obama and Kerry waged in the United Nations against Israel. Why should any Israeli or diaspora Jew trust the policies and opinions of John Kerry?

Facts in Fiction, Daniel Silva Should be Taken Seriously

Over the years I've blogged a few times about the very true lessons we can learn from the movie The Siege, Fact and Fiction, "The Siege." Recently I've been reading quite a few Daniel Silva books, and even though I have no idea what his politics are, I see some important lessons there, too.

In pretty much all of Silva's spy, adventure novels I've read, there's a foul up caused by American "help," interference and demand for control. Just like in The Siege, there's an inherent American incompetence and built in leaks. Of course I don't know what percentage of these repeated foul ups/disasters are based on fact, but from my vantage point in Shiloh and the fact that I've been a longtime political observer, they ring very true.

It's no secret that the American State Department is anti-Israel and antisemitic; it has always been. Israel isn't treated fairly, fact not fiction.

Right now I'm reading Daniel Silva's The Messenger, and I came across a line that rings so true.

This is a major problem in Israeli policy, the quest to be liked. Unfortunately, there isn't any form of or tactic in hasbara-information campaigns or "rebranding" which can delete or even reduce the inherent anti-Israel and antisemitism that exists in NGOs, other countries, diplomats, accademia etc. Internationally, there's more antisemitism than had existed as the Nazi Final Solution was reaching its crescendo.

And the feeling of national guilt which had existed in Germany and parts of Europe post-World War Two has ended. The Nazis' grandchildren and great-grandchildren are leading the anti-Israel pro-Palestine movements. Unlike their parents, they won't even fund memorials.

So we here in Israel must forget about being liked; it just won't happen. Let's just take off the gloves and destroy our enemies. That's the only way to bring peace.

USA Pres. Trump Corrects Historic Wrong

Yesterday was a day that should be treasured, not for what it did for Israel, but what it did for the United States of America. As American President Donald Trump and others stressed, the official recognition of Israel's chosen Capital City, Jerusalem, should have been made seventy 70 years ago. 

It was a horrendous historic injustice, antisemitic for sure, that although then President Truman was quick to officially recognize the State of Israel, it seriously scarred that recognition by refusing to recognize Jerusalem as part of Israel. This very undiplomatic and unprecedented snub continues in the American Court's refusal to list American citizens born in Jerusalem as born in Israel. Gd willing, now that the American Embassy is in Jerusalem, citizens born in Jerusalem will be able to have their passports amended to state that they were born in Jerusalem, Israel.

I was one of the many millions all over the world to watch and listen to the ceremony. It was a very wise decision to do simple "sign-changing," which produced an "instant embassy" in the rather new consulate building, so the official opening wouldn't take years to be a reality.

The main theme in most of the American speeches, including the prerecorded one by Trump, was that the State of Israel, like all other countries has the exclusive right to decided on its Capital City.

Even though my husband and I made aliyah just weeks after our wedding, almost half a century ago, we are still American citizens. And we have friends, who like American Ambassador David Friedman straddle their loyalty to the United States and love for Israel. I kept wondering how Friedman felt as the MC of the ceremony. If he writes his memoirs, will he say that it was the high point of his professional and personal lives? How much of this "instant embassy" was of his doing?

We in Israel never doubted that Jerusalem is our Capital. The change by the American Government is for its benefit, not ours. Gd gave us this Holy Land, and three thousand years ago, King David chose Jerusalem as our Capital City.

Will The USA Move Embassy to Jerusalem as a 70th "Shindig?"

Israel is now beginning to celebrate seventy 70 years of modern independence. The Jewish People had an independent Kingdom here in the very same place thousands of years ago. None of the peoples of that time or our ancient enemies still exist. But seventy years ago after a slow painstaking Zionist revolution, the Jewish People here in the Holy Land of Israel were able to reach the stage where a new Jewish State could be declared, defeat its military enemies and exist/thrive.

Seventy years ago, when Israel's first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion, declared Israel's Independence from the occupation of the British Mandate, the odds of the tiny, weak Jewish population here to survive at all were extremely poor.

Very few of the countries that voted on November 29, 1947, in the United Nations General Assembly to "approve" the right for the Jews to have a country expected the country to be viable and survive. They didn't care either; they just wanted to act nice to the pathetic remnant of Jews after the Nazi Holocaust. There was more sympathy to the Arabs, whom they recognized as the rightful "owners" of the Land claimed by the Zionist Jews. That's one of the reasons why most countries located their embassies in Tel Aviv. For them, Jerusalem was Christian and Muslim, not Jewish.

Of course the "elephant in the room" is the Holocaust and how no country took a stand to protest the early anti-Jewish discrimination/restrictions or protect Jews  in an official way. The United States entered the war for other reasons, and they had no battle plan to destroy the death camps.

Even though, Christians in the western world/culture use the Bible to swear on, they don't really take Ancient Jewish History seriously or connect it to modern Jewry.

Many American Presidents pledged to move the embassy to Jerusalem when campaigning. But once in office they just followed the State Department policy, or like Obama who had also pledged to help establish a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, they were clearly lying, saying anything to get a vote and funding from Jews. Remember that American Jewry is giving much less to Israel and Jewish causes nowadays, but they are very big in funding American political things, especially Leftist.

Donald Trump has shaken up American politics in more ways than one. He came from real estate business and reality TV. The politicians and pundits never expected him to get the Republican nomination and certainly never thought he'd defeat Hillary Clinton in the elections. But with the relatively new primary system, the American People spoke, and they chose Trump.

And Donald Trump is the first American President willing to "put his money where his mouth is," officially recognize Jerusalem as Israel's Capital City and move the American Embassy to there. Recent talk is that not only will it be done before the end of his presidential term but in a couple of months, around Israeli Independence Day.

Admittedly I'm a cynic, especially when it comes to politicians, but since Trump has been consistently hurrying the move rather than delaying it, maybe Gd willing it will become reality. What do you think?

U.S. Embassy Move to Jerusalem, Just a Headline?

When American President Donald Trump announced his historic recognition of Jerusalem as Capital of the State of Israel and Israel's right o choose its own capital city, he was very vague about the moving of the embassy.  Blunt-talking Trump was uncharacteristically politician-like in the matter.

The other day, we heard from Bibi that the historic move would be this year. Technically, since the United States has a sparkling new large consulate in Jerusalem, the official status of that building with the Tel Aviv embassy can just be switched. Some staff would be reassigned, and the maintenance staff would switch signs. Israel is a tiny enough country for the workers to be able to commute easily.

Now, we hear from the news, that it will take three years for the move. And we all know that there's a big question about who will be the winner of the 2020 USA Presidential Elections. There's another question. Is the delay and tactic by the antisemitic, anti-Israel State Department to sabotage Trump's policy? That's very possible.
