Hamas/Gaza War Musings #43: VICTORY Not Oratory

Day after day, lives lost to terror-- this war doesn't seem even close to the end. For me the end of the war must be our victory. If Bibi serves us another one of his ceasefires, I truly dread the next war. I also dread the increased Arab terrorism from the released convicted Arab terrorists and their increased confidence.

I can't lie. With Netanyahu in the drivers seat, I'm not optimistic. Please prove me wrong.

Here's last night's "Gnite:"

The war is dragging on...
Poor leadership...
Bibi's a brilliant orator, but...
... being a Prime Minister demands other talents. If he had the other talents his orating skills would be the "cream on the cake," but without them, it's like getting sick because you just ate a bowl of sweet fatty cream...
Our country is sick now, and some people are yearning for a leader with the confidence and bargaining talents of a Donald Trump. They see that Bibi is weak in those categories, but Trump is American, not Israeli. His job isn't to save us. We Israelis must save ourselves. He won't stop and threaten us like Biden managed to do.
How is it that Biden, in his weakened state, still succeeded in terrifying and controlling Bibi Netanyahu? It doesn't say much for Bibi.
Hamas acts victorious, proud of its accomplishments, in control of the situation. They tested us by sending the body of a Gazan rather than Shiri Bibas. It's obvious that it was a test, because the minute Israel made a forceful complaint about it, the correct body was sent.
They're calling the shots...
I'm praying for a miracle. Either Bibi has a sudden personality change and becomes a brave, strong, confident leader taking us to #TotalVictory, or he resigns and someone else becomes Prime Minister, someone capable of leading us to VICTORY.
We're a small country and can't go on like this forever...
Gd willing, tomorrow...

What do you think? Don't be shy. Please comment and share, thanks.

Hamas/Gaza War Musings #40: USA Faux Friend

The following is from my Facebook "Gnite" posts. Before I go to bed, I let loose on Facebook whatever is really bothering me. Generally these posts aren't at all planned; they just flow.

I'd appreciate if you'd read, comment and share, thanks.

I'm an old lady, past retirement age. I've been following politics and history since I was a child in New York. My life decisions aren't the standard and not as I was raised. I'm a Torah Observant Jew since my teens, thanks to what I learned and experienced in NCSY and made aliyah (moved to Israel,) with my husband since just after our 1970 wedding. That's my background in a nutshell.

Please read, thanks...

Gnite
What's going to happen 12 noon on Shabbat? Jerusalem time or Washington DC? Not clear to me...
Hamas isn't afraid of Bibi. That's for sure. It has been revealed that Gazans were readying for a surrender over a year ago, but then Bibi followed Biden's orders and began feeding the Gazans... so we lost.
Bibi is more American than I am.
I feel no loyalty, nor do I have any trust in the USA. The American State Department, Defense Department etc don't know what's best for Israel and have never cared about our survival. Way back when, during Harry Truman's presidency, he was told by the State Department not to vote "yes" in the infant United Nations for a Jewish State. Truman defied them.
Two decades later, when Egypt was threatening to destroy Israel with the help of their allies, Syria and Jordan. The USA was quiet.
Six years later they knew all about Egypt's plan to attack Israel and refused to warn Israel. Read Deceit of an Ally by Bruce Brill.
Almost a half a century later, deja vu, Biden was flown to Israel by his handlers to force Bibi to treat Hamas Gaza with kid gloves, send in "humanitarian aid" and continue with the farcical fokokt "moral" waste of our weapons to protect "innocent" Gazans civilians. Of course this totally ignores the fact that Gazan civilians are terrorists and invaded, murdered Gazans civilians, raped, decapitated, incinerated truly innocent Israelis on October 7, 2023. And the Americans quickly announced that their plan for "after" was to establish a Palestinian State. Their timing is very suspicious... It takes years for the State Department to plan things... right? So, the chances are... the attack wasn't a surprise for the Americans...
If my blog and FB posts had been more popular, I'd be one of those targeted... What do you think?
Food for thought...
Past my bedtime. Gd willing see you tomorrow.

Hamas/Gaza War Musings #36- Dangerous Surrender!

As a student of the Bible/Tanach, most recently Prophets/Navi, that's the message. Gd will save us if we do the right thing. That's how we won the 1967 Six Days War and the 1973 Yom Kippur War.

I kept suspecting, fearing that Israel's Prime Minister Binyamin Bibi Netanyahu would fold under American pressure, but I prayed that he'd be opposed by other Likud leaders and coalition ministers. Unfortunately, he and all but one of the ministers failed to oppose it.

Just Otzma Yehudit's Itamar Ben-Gvir opposed American rule over the State of Israel. He's the only reliable leader. That's it. I'm hoping to hear angry voices from Likud backbenchers. So far, silence.

Netanyahu has given up our sovereignty and totally buckled. He let the USA decide our defense policy.

Biden announces Israel's truce with Lebanon with hope of paving pathway for Gaza ceasefire

I'm not interested in his fancy oratory. I look at facts and policy. The next war in the north will be a gazillion times worse. It's clear. This has been happening ever since Bibi has been ruling. Read my other articles, please. I don't have time to write more now.

This is what I wrote last night on facebook:

Gnite

It shouldn't surprise you that I'm beyond, angry, miserable, scared and worse.
I'm not the only Israeli feeling totally betrayed by our government coalition. Bibi is just what I've been saying for years, a "closet Leftist." That's definitely the most polite term I can use.
You can Google what I wrote on Shiloh Musings in 2008 which I titled Impressive*. FB blocks the link and hides....
I don't care what spin Netanyahu puts on what he agreed to, but it's a surrender. A military surrender and a surrender of Israeli sovereignty.
Why hasn't the coalition crumbled?
Why isn't the Likud demanding Bibi's resignation?
Why aren't the families of our dead and wounded soldiers out in the streets shouting?
The deal, or whatever you want to call it a travesty.
It's a danger to the survival of the State of Israel.
I'm beyond angry.
What do you think?
If you agree with what I've written, please share.

I'd appreciate your comments, and share if you agree, thanks.

Hamas/Gaza War Musings #35- Bibi's Foolishly Playing to the Democrats

We've all heard the saying that trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results is a definition of insanity and the most accurate way of describing Prime Minister Binyamin Bibi Netanyahu's security policies --how he ends wars--

That's why we're in the mess we've been in the past year plus. The mess is the war. We've been attacked every year or two since early into Bibi's reign as Israel's Prime Minister. I don't understand why so many, otherwise brilliant, people vote for him, trust him and politically worship him. Netanyahu has been giving us a 21st century appeasement policy.

We haven't won any of these wars; we just end them, first cousin to surrender. Bibi claims that "we showed the Arabs that we're stronger, can't push us around." Duh?!? It has never worked. If it's the right policy there wouldn't be fighting a dangerous war for Israel's survival since October 7, 2023. It's clear. I'm a CPA's daughter and 1+1=2. This isn't even Second Grade Arithmetic. Why are so many people dumb when it comes to politics?

And now I keep hearing that we're letting the Americans, those deceitful allies, sic, negotiate a deal/ceasefire with Hizbolla. Beyond insanity, these are the Democrats, the party of Obama, AOC, Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris and Biden, who's no better than any of the others.

The tough war savvy crew Donald Trump has been nominating is certainly horrified. Horrified because we're not showing any war smarts, none of the heroism Trump is old enough to remember well from 1967.

If I sound depressed, it's because I am depressed. IMHO Bibi is only making things worse. When Trump tells Israel to finish the war, he means WIN IT!

I know what you want to ask me. "Who should replace Bibi?" Right? Honestly, I want to postpone elections as long as legally possible, because Israel can't afford raising the level of competition/disagreement/debate among citizens. If Netanyahu would only resign from all public offices, then the next in line in Likud would become Prime Minister. No elections needed.

Our soldiers are fighting hard, not only against Arab terrorists but also against some bad policies of the higher ups, those above the glass ceiling. Elections would cause too many internal fights.

I know that some people are certainly upset that I've written this. But I can't stay quiet, sorry. If you agree with me, please share this post, thanks. I'm looking forward to your comments, too.

Guest Post by Netivotgirl

Some of you may remember the wonderful posts my dear friend aka "Netivotgirl" had posted in the past about living in Netivot. Here's something she sent to friends and agreed that I post it here on Shiloh Musings. You can read more of her articles here by searching "Shiloh Musings Netivotgirl."

Facebook will NOT allow me to share this post so I am emailing it to some of my close friends. EVERYTHING mentioned here is fact taken from sites such as Human Rights Watch. Why am I not surprised? I welcome any and all remarks from you my friends. We need not agree but we must keep the lines of communication open between us. It's bad enough that anti-Semitism is currently rampant the world over; as Jews no matter what our political stance we are all loathed at present (if we can be recognized as being Jewish.) I will add here that later this year will be the first American election in which I will NOT cast my vote since making aliyah in 1977. In my opinion, Trump is totally off his rocker and Biden is a doddering incompetent man who is no friend of Israel. He is also (IMHO) a crook along with his son Hunter. These are my opinions and you may differ with me.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Although I am an avid reader, I'm not a particularly gifted writer unlike some of my friends (Ariella McCauley Kopels, Paula R. Stern, and Batya Medad, that means you three!) Yesterday during Shavuot, I finished reading one thick book and half of a second one after reading all of the book of Psalms. I want to share some thoughts with you all to explain why I have decided to take a break from Facebook. As an Orthodox Jew, I believe that everything is decreed in heaven. Here in Israel we have been living in a surreal nightmare since October 7th of last year. Everyone has somebody they love serving in the IDF and many of us have lost people on that dreadful day. (I lost Judith Weinstein Haggai with whom over the years I participated in numerous in-service courses in Beer Sheva.) At the end of this missive, I will bring the sources for the facts that will be mentioned.

"In January and February of 2016, Human Rights Watch interviewed 21 Sunni Muslim Arab women from Iraq and women and girls from the Yezidi minority ethnic group, all of whom had fled ISIS-controlled areas, most in late 2015. Several of the Yezidis, abducted by ISIS in mid-2014, had spent more than a year in captivity. They described being forcibly converted to Islam, kept in sexual slavery, bought and sold in slave markets, and passed among as many as four ISIS members." The world was silent.

In 2022, "Rohingya Muslims are still awaiting justice and protection of their rights five years after the Myanmar military began a sweeping campaign of massacres, rape, and arson ….on August 25, 2017, Human Rights Watch said. More than 730,000 Rohingya fled to precarious, flood-prone camps in Bangladesh, while about 600,000 remain under oppressive rule in Myanmar." How did the world react? A few words of concern were expressed but life went on as usual.

In March 2023, "The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) announced in a report marking the 12th anniversary of the popular uprising for democracy in Syria that it has documented the deaths of 230,224 Syrian civilians, including 15,272 who died due to torture." The world was silent.

Now let's mention the facts: The Palestinians actually had a state. In 2005, Israel put into action a plan called, "The Disengagement from Gaza." IDF installations and forces were removed and over 9000 Israeli citizens living in 25 settlements were evicted. Jews who lived in the settlements in that area left behind millions of dollars' worth of greenhouses that could have helped turn the Gaza Strip into a modern Singapore. However, all of that expensive machinery and agricultural apparatus was put on fire and destroyed! Fast forward to October 7th, 2023. Israel suffered an incursion by barbarians who swept through Moshavim and Kibbutzim in the Gaza Envelope. Entire families were shot and killed. Babies were burned in their cribs and often beheaded. Women were gang-raped and their bodies dismembered. (i.e. breasts were found near the defiled women.) In total, 251 men, women and children were abducted into Gaza. Hostages who were later released told chilling stories of the abuse they suffered. And the world? Suddenly non-Jews the world over began spewing anti-Semitic chants such as, "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free." (Few if any of those protesters can name to which river and sea are referred.) Neither Egypt nor Jordan (nor any other country for that matter) cares to take in refugees from Gaza. Why is this? Nobody wants them. Why are we Israelis responsible for them? As Douglas Murray, famed British author and reporter has mentioned many times, Israel is the only nation in the world that is not allowed to win a war. We the Jews are the indigenous people in our land, speaking the same language that was used 3000 years ago. The Al-Aqsa Mosque is built upon the remains of our holy Temple. Coins excavated from that area show ancient Hebrew letters and symbols. Biden has been attempting to force upon us a "two state solution" which IMHO would in essence be rewarding the Arabs for the worst genocidal attack we Jews have suffered since the Holocaust in WWII.

It seems like yesterday (actually it was on November 10th, 1975) that the UN General Assembly adopted G.A. Resolution 3379, which declared Zionism to be “a form of racism and racial discrimination.” I feel that I must distance myself from what is posted on Facebook about current events in order to retain my sanity. I run a fund for poverty stricken brides from Netivot and am involved with other communal activities so I will not be bored. So forgive me if I remove myself from the public arena. As mentioned earlier, sources will appear below.

I will also add that I have no idea how long I will take my break. What I can say with certainty is that not listening to the news nor watching videos on my laptop has brought me some small measure of serenity as the world continues to go berserk.

Hamas/Gaza War Musings #24: Time for Bibi to Distance Himself From Biden

In my previous War Musings,  USA vis-à-vis Israel, A Sadistic Abusive Relationship, I showed that the USA-Israel relationship is typical of serious emotional abuse. Now for another reason Prime Minister Binyamin Bibi Netanyahu must seriously distance himself from Biden and the Democrat Party.

Polls are showing that Biden and the extreme Left Progressive ANTI-ISRAEL Democrats are losing support in the United States. Republicans, especially President Donald Trump, are losing all respect for Netanyahu.

It's time for Netanyahu to assert himself, act like the leader of an independent country -which he had been elected to be- and wean himself from the Biden administration "cold turkey."

Biden and the Democrats are losing support, especially by those Americans who think and care about the State of Israel. Jews, who for generations, had been loyal Democrat voters, like Alan Dershowitz, now are traumatized as they realize that their party is supporting the anti-Israel and antisemitic university demonstrations.

Bibi claims to be a wily, wise politician, but he's just acting like a pathetic victim of abuse. It's time to repair and expand Israel's relations with the Republican Party and Donald Trump. He shouldn't consider it "election interference" especially after Biden agreed with Schumer that Israel must vote Bibi out of office.

I'm disgusted and embarrassed by Bibi Netanyahu's pathetic behavior.

Hamas/Gaza War Musings #23: USA vis-à-vis Israel, A Sadistic Abusive Relationship

Last week the Jerusalem Post had a very interesting and well-timed column by Dr Mark Gropper, Co-dependency: Why can't I stop putting others before myself? At least I consider it well-timed, because of how the USA keeps treating the State of Israel.

I must admit that I don't usually read Gropper's column, but somehow I found myself reading it last Shabbat. It hit the spot, not in a personal way, but as an analysis of the State of Israel vis-à-vis the USA. To see our Prime Minister begging the USA and inviting Blinken to the Security War Cabinet and sharing our plans for attacking Gaza with Biden and accepting the verbal abuse by American officials is a classic example of "co-dependency," meaning an abusive relationship.

This sort of behavior generally repeats, on and on with abuse getting stronger, more dangerous, and that's what has been happening.

America's latest condemnation of Israel is an attack on one of its army battalions, Netzach Yehuda, in which the soldiers are all Torah observant, some even chareidi. From Bibi's response, he seems to be surprised, but he shouldn't be. Each time that the Israeli government has tried to placate the United States and "correct" their alleged sin/mistake the USA comes out with a new and greater condemnation. That's the cycle of abuse.

Just a few weeks ago, some aid workers were killed in Gaza, which is a risk for anyone in a war zone. Biden and crew went berserk, as if they had been intentionally targeted by Israel. Bibi didn't say "that's what happens in a war zone" and then remind the Americans of all the innocent victims of their own army actions.

But what did Bibi do? He publicly blamed the IDF officers and fired them! Bibi couldn't have found a better  way to lower the morale of the IDF and their worried families. I guess he doesn't realize that we're voters

It's clear to me that Biden's crew is counting on Bibi kowtowing yet again. That's why they've now upped the ante and targeted Netzach Yehuda. Americans now insist that any armaments they've "given" to the IDF can't be used by soldiers of Netzach Yehuda.

For the longest time I've been saying that Israel's true misconception aka "haconceptzia" is that the United States is an ally/friend of the State of Israel.

It has been made public meaning it's no secret that in 1973 the United States had known well in advance that Israel was going to be attacked by whom and when. Bruce Brill's book Deceit of An Ally went through two rounds of censorship by the Americans, so it's clear that the USA admits it. I had been in Israel, already a mother of two living in Jerusalem, at the time of that war, and I felt strongly in my "kishkes" that Golda shouldn't have trusted Kissinger. Years later I met Bruce and heard his story, plus a friend reported something similar from someone who had been an American soldier stationed in Europe at the time. The USA was fully aware of the impending attack and did everything to convince Israel that Israel shouldn't take its own reports of suspicious activities on the border seriously. Foolishly Israel leaders trusted the Americans, and many Israeli lives were lost as a result. It's a total miracle that we won the war.

The Israeli government must not trust America, nor obey its dictates. It is so clear to me. Each time we follow its demands they follow it with worse demands!

Their plan for "after the war" to establish "Palestine" here proves that they are still "deceitful allies" at best. There's a real chance that that someday it will revealed that, like in 1973, the United States more than knew in advance about the massacre of October, 2023 and was probably involved in some way...

Israel must stop the cycle now. If not, things will only get worse, and it'll get harder.

There is one way to stop the cycle and finally show/prove to the USA administration, State Department etc that Israel will on longer accept American dictates. We must break this dangerous cycle of abuse.

PRIME MINISTER BINYAMIN BIBI NETANYAHU MUST APOLOGIZE TO THE OFFFICERS HE FIRED, REINSTATE THEM -WITH A PROMOTION- AND BEGIN TO FIGHT THIS WAR TO WIN!!

Hamas/Gaza War Musings #21: Bibi, If You Can't Take the Heat, Get Out of the Kitchen!!

This photo of PM Netanyahu was taken by me at the
First International Jewish Bloggers Conference in 2008.

The elephant in the room, giant, angry and potentially violent, is the fact that despite the mindless mantra we keep hearing, America is not Israel's greatest friend and ally. It's neither our friend nor ally. The true and most dangerous MISCONCEPTION, which Israelis call "conceptzia" is this faux friendship. Consecutive Israeli governments for well over half a century have been hypnotizing themselves with this mantra.

History has shown Americans to be deceitful, and Israeli officials are so desperate, like many damaged from abuse, they ignore the truth. Way back when, just over fifty years ago, during the Yom Kippur War I followed the news and felt that something was wrong in how America was trying to control Israel and force it into a "draw" as it fought for its existance on two fronts after dual surprise attacks. I didn't hear this voiced on the news or in the papers, but I felt it in my "kishkes." Then a few years later I met Bruce Brill and he told me his story. He had been employed by the NSA in 1973 and discovered that the USA knew well about the upcoming Arab attacks, but told Israel that nothing was happening. Bruce tells his story in Deceit of an Ally: A Memoir of Military Anti-Semitism, NSA’s Secret Jew Room and Yom Kippur War Treachery.

Here we are a full half a century later again fighting a war for our very survival, and again it's clear to me that there's American involvement. Why else would they have a detailed plan for "afterwards?" They have made it clear that they will establish a Palestinian State in Israel, and they are putting pressure on Israel's Prime Minister Binyamin Bibi Netanyahu to stop fighting ASAP.

Unfortunately, Bibi seems terrified of calling a spade a spade and telling the Americans NO!! Instead he keeps buckling down and begging.

Please don't say that we get "aid from the Americans." The truth is that we get shopping coupons to use in American military industries, and now Biden, (and his staff because it's no secret that his government is controlled by extreme Left anti-Israel ideologues,) has made it clear that if Israel doesn't follow American orders, no arms. Other counties and groups, like Ukraine and Gaza actually get money. Yes, the USA also supports Gaza.

And about those weapons Israel is allowed to buy, some are Israeli inventions or "tweaks" aka improvements on the original American designs, which make them more effective. Also some of what we need from America are necessary parts for what we produce in Israel. And considering that Netanyahu has been Prime Minister for most of the past twenty years, he's the one responsible for this dependence.

It's also clear that Bibi had instructions from the USA about who can be in the War Cabinet, because these are the "military leaders" influenced/trained by the Americans. Ditto about what I said about Bibi's responsibility for the mess we're in having been Prime Minister for most of the past twenty years, the same can be said for those he added to the war cabinet. They controlled the IDF during that same time, Gallant, Gantz and Eizenkot.

Why has Bibi agreed to the unprecedented feeding of the enemy during wartime? There's no chance that Hamas will ever surrender if their civilian backers are well-fed. That's the ABC of warfare.

Why are we warning Gazans before we bomb? That's not how you win a war!

Does Bibi have the guts to fight to win? So far he doesn't show it. Words don't count, only actions!

Hamas/Gaza War Musings #20: Israel Needs New Esther and Mordechai, ASAP!

This is inspired by a challenge to compare the Biblical Purim story with today's situation concerning the Jewish People, The State of Israel and our war for survival. Which of today's Israeli and world leaders are like the five main characters, King Achashverosh, Haman, Vashti, Mordechai and Esther of the Purim story?

Fairly easily I was able to decide on the Persian King Achashverosh, who's very much controlled by his advisors and seems terrified or unwilling to move without the approval of his backers. Haman is also easy to name, and he, too, represents a coalition of supporters and advisors. Vashti took a bit more thought to decide on. She had her moment of fame and then was pushed off the stage. Only our two heroes are missing, Esther and Mordechai. Try as I can, I just don't see anyone or team showing the capabilities and daring needed to topple King Achashverosh and Haman.

Following are my three Purim characters of today.

  • King Achashverosh- Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Bibi Netanyahu
  • Haman- US President Biden
  • Vashti- former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett
Of course if you disagree, I invite you to state your opinions in the comments.

I'll start with Naftali Bennett as Vashti, since she's off stage very early on. Bennett after his great success in high-tech had been Netanyahu's chief of staff from 2006-8, until Bibi kept dampening Bennett's ambitions, jealous of his talents, and threw him out of the palace. A few years ago, Bennett did the impossible and crafted an unthinkable, even miraculous, coalition and became Israel's Prime Minister. In response, Netanyahu showed his antidemocratic fangs and did everything in his power to destroy Naftali Bennett. He succeeded, very much like Achashverosh's banishment of Vashti. Some Bible scholars say that Vashti was from the royal family and married down. The marriage is what gave Achashverosh the kingship.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has been in this high office most of the past twenty years, which according to all logic means that he's responsible for the dangerous mess the State of Israel is in. Like the Biblical Achashverosh, he needs reminding... so far, he's still asleep at the wheel. Considering that Bibi was educated in the USA, he should be familiar with Harry Truman's motto:
Instead of acting like a strong sovereign leader, Netanyahu likes to talk tough, but his policies are weak. And it's really embarrassing and dangerous for the State of Israel, that he seems so unsure and halting. The additional members of his "war cabinet," like King Achashverosh's advisors, seem even less competent. In Bibi's case, he brought in the same military men who built the defenses that failed on October 7, 2023. They're all covering their you-know-whats

American President Biden represents Haman, the enemy. Achashverosh trusts Haman, and gives him so much authority -including his ring for signing national orders. That reminds me of how Netanyahu is sharing our military secrets and plans with Biden and his staff. Bibi is consulting with them, as if we're all on the same "team," using Biden's terminology.

How could Bibi do such a thing? What about our national security? The United States has been training and arming the same Arabs who have been attacking us!!! Don't forget that Chuck Schumer, Biden's stooge, announced to the world that the USA wants Netanyahu REPLACED! Biden confirmed it, and Bibi doesn't have the guts to pull our ambassador out of Washington. Doesn't he have any pride, national or personal? He even makes Achashverosh look good.

Think about it. Something is very wrong.

In the Purim story, early on we see Mordechai planting his orphaned relative, Esther, in Achashverosh's palace. Mordechai was a gutsy rebel. That's the Hebrew meaning of his name. The first three letters מרד mem, resh, daled are the root of mered, rebellion. That's why Haman hated him so. Haman knew well that Mordechai couldn't be controlled by Persian authorities.

I have no idea if an Esther has already been planted someplace where she can turn the tables and bring us victory. Gd willing, she's there, and soon we'll see wonderful miracles.

If Esther and Mordechai haven't yet started their tasks, Gd willing they'll start soon, ASAP or better yet YESTERDAY!

PRAY!!!

Hamas/Gaza War Musings #19: Disgusting Condemnation by Biden and Schumer Expected, Because...Simple Math

Most Israelis are furious about the outrageously chutzpadik words of  US Senator Chuck Schumer, his unabashed interference in internal Israeli politics, which has been given full backing by US President Biden. Prime Minister Netanyahu, among others, are ranting that "we're not a banana republic" and other complaints.

But to be perfectly honest, Bibi's constant consultations with Biden, Blinken and other American officials during this dangerous war for our very survival made us looks weak and dependent. As a long-time Israeli, I felt embarrassed, and I'm not the only one. And worse than embarrassed, I felt endangered and then not surprised, as simple as 1+1=2, when the elected head of a country keeps taking advice from another country, he doesn't look like a strong, competent, sovereign leader, so why should he expect to be treated with respect?

Considering that the USA has never fought a war on its own territory for its very survival against terrorists who rape, decapitate etc, I don't see what expertise they have. And the minute Biden started talking about his plans for establishing "Palestine" sic in Israel after the war, Bibi should have cut off all contact. But that topic is for another war musing.

The truth is that the Democrats don't like Bibi and they never have. The Clintons loved Peres, and Obama couldn't even fake a smile when Bibi was in the same room. Biden has a ready smile, but it's fake. He knows the saying:

"You can get catch more flies with honey than vinegar.."

It makes Biden more dangerous, because people don't expect a knife in the back. And now Bibi got stabbed.

Biden isn't the first American President to be involved with interfering in Israeli elections. Barack Obama's administration financially supported the "anyone but Bibi" crowd nine years ago. Follow the money... I have no doubt that American money has been supporting all of the anti- Bibi/Likud demonstrations which have plagued Israel for years. They've also been supporting the anti-Judicial Reform movement, even though the present Israeli judicial system goes against every fair proper justice principle American law demands.

The only American President who has treated Israel with proper respect was Donald Trump, who couldn't/can't understand why American Jews continue to support the Democrats who have always treated Israel so poorly.

It's time for the State of Israel to cut its dependence on the United States. Every "gift" we get has strings attached which are really a noose. We get "shop in America only" shopping coupons. Other countries get actual money to spend wherever. These shopping coupons have weakened Israeli military industries. We could be exporting weapons all over the world. Instead we're begging the USA for more bombs.

Enough is enough! Let's finally be a fully independent country. That's the only way we'll be safe and win this war. We don't need America!

In 1967 we had no allies, and we won in six days. I remember it well. That's because Gd helped. Yes, simple math...

Israel Attacked by Hamas 2023/5784, War Musings #8 ISRAEL Must Be The One Country Between The River and The Sea!

How did the "Two State Solution" morph into a a policy that demands only one, Gd forbid, the terror state of Palestine sic?

The catchy rhyming slogan "From the River to the Sea Palestine Will be Free" is an innocent sounding euphemism for the destruction, Gd forbid, of the State of Israel

It's time for all those who have been promoting a Palestinian sic state to exist peacefully next to the State of Israel to finally admit to themselves that such a situation is a total impossibility. They've been lying to themselves, Israelis and foreigners alike.

How did the State of Israel get into such a mess? Even our faux Right wing prime minister, Binyamin Bibi Netanyahu publicly drank the Kool-Aid, as the saying goes. I'm impatiently waiting to hear admissions by our politicians, leaders, foreigners, too, that they made a BIG MISTAKE. Unfortunately, naiveté and stupidity are very closely connected.

About the United States, historically, if you follow policy, not speeches, you'd find that the State Department, which is eternal, though presidents come and go, has always been anti-Israel. Truman vetoed, overrode its instructions when he insisted that the USA vote "yes" for a State of Israel in the United Nations and then quickly recognized it. The Nixon-Kissinger scheming during/before the Yom Kippur War is explained very clearly in Bruce Brill's Deceit of an Ally

Biden speaks with "forked tongue," as hypocrites and liars were called in old cowboy and indian movies. He's making suicidal demands on Israel, and I hope Bibi uses his IQ to realize that he's being conned. In the meantime, as long as Israel listens to the USA, we're in increasing danger.

I suggest you do some research and try to find Arab leaders who have officially promoted the "Two State Solution" in Arabic. Have any tried to promote this to other Arabs? Have any accepted the various Two State Peace sic proposals offered?

***

Yesterday the Jerusalem Post published a letter I wrote to them which, davka, gives the key to how that nice mushy liberal-sounding policy evolved into an innocently sounding rhyme which actually demands the destruction, Gd for bid, of the State of Israel.

Over Shabbat, I read a week of The Jerusalem Post, something I find myself doing most weeks lately. Pretty much every day, there’s an article about what’s happening in American universities. One article mentions an Arab student who says that she wears earrings in the shape of a “map of ancient Palestine,” and she was almost brought to tears because of the negative reactions of Jewish students.

Too bad we couldn’t see the earrings, since there was never an ancient Palestine as a country with its own leadership and government.

I hope that you, Jerusalem Post writers and editors, have been paying attention to the fact that the Arabs aren’t asking for a “two-state solution.” They want “from the river to the sea,” in other words that Israel will cease to be.

Following the Six Day War in 1967, Israel did not use Jewish biblical names for any of the land liberated in the war. It was clear that – hoping for peace in exchange for land – Golda Meir, who served as prime minister from 1969 to 1974, along with her cabinet didn’t want ownership/sovereignty. Instead they referred to “the West Bank,” “shtachim” (“territories”), and “east Jerusalem,” similar to East and West Berlin.

The fact is that to this day, despite the light rail which travels through all sorts of Jerusalem neighborhoods, the unification of Jerusalem is one-sided. Arabs can freely enter, work, shop, even live in Jewish neighborhoods, while Jews are kept out of Arab neighborhoods.

Now, Diaspora Jews and Israelis seem caught by surprise by the massive pro-Hamas “from the river to the sea” demonstrations all over the world.

Since 1967, our leaders have been playing by the wrong rules. By not using our traditional names for the land liberated in 1967 and deciding not to keep God’s gift for us, they’ve told the world that the land isn’t ours. It’s all in the name. Fixing this mistake won’t be easy, but it must be done.

I must admit that the letters editor did edit my letter quite a bit, which hadn't been written as tightly as it should have been.

Please think about the points I've made.

It's important to make it clear that being in favor of a Palestinian state is the same as being in favor of the destruction of the State of Israel, Gd forbid. The evil genie is out of the bottle... The Hamas Arabs are unabashedly showing their true stripes.

I'm interested in your opinions, and please share this post, thanks.

Israel Attacked by Hamas 2023/5784, War Musings #3 With Friends Like These...

Report: Biden pressured Israel not to launch attack on Hezbollah

WITH FRIENDS LIKE THESE, WHO NEEDS ENEMIES....

I'm not surprised at all. Sometimes I don't like being right, totally on target. I haven't trusted the United States for half a century already...

Biden's no friend of Israel He doesn't want Israel to really win.

He wants to come in and "rescue" a desperate Israel making it a weak protectorate.

I've always suspected that it had been Kissinger's dream in 1973. That's the only thing that makes sense. Way back when, in 1973, during the Yom Kippur War, I began being very suspicious of the USA and Kissinger. Later on, from two totally unrelated friends, meaning people who never knew each other, I discovered how the USA  had deceived Israel. Read Bruce Brill's Deceit of an Ally. Kissinger's guilt is my theory.

There are too many strings, conditions and demands to the American "aid." Read the fine print.

We have to fight to win, to destroy Hamas and demand unconditional defeat of the Gazan Hamas terrorists. Nothing else will end this hell/war. Bibi's previous attempts to "quiet things" in recent years were disasters. It was so obvious this sort of thing would happen, though even I never expected such depravity and cruelty.

Thankfully Not All Israelis Embarrassed Themselves Over Biden's Visit

Everyone who heard that I would be in Jerusalem today thought I had lost my mind; even I had doubts. But since cousins were in from the states, and this was their only day...

Why was this considered a ridiculous irresponsible day to be in Jerusalem?

Street closings for the Biden visit were expected to wreck havoc in Jerusalem. Well, that may have been true in some neighborhoods, but not the routes I and my cousins would be taking to meet each other.

Israel always goes overboard when top American officials show up, and I'm not just talking about closing major roads and highways. Prime Minister Lapid and President Herzog were smiling so broadly, you'd think they just won the lottery, Nobel Peace Prize and had been crowned Kings of The World.

The so-called pundits on television stupidly took Biden's speech seriously confusing a "speech" with policy. Every time an American President comes they make the same idiotic mistake, and that includes the visits of Clinton, the Bushes and even Obama. Each president, no matter how little they think of Israel comes armed with an amazing pro-Israel speech. And each time we hear the same dumb commentary by pundits and reporters who think that these "I love Israel" speeches are actual policy. It's all cosmetics, like hair dye and plastic surgery.

The young and memory challenged in the media either forgot or never knew and didn't research that it was davka Biden who was nasty to then Prime Minister Menachem Begin. Besides that, the United States has never really supported the State of Israel when we were in danger. To be honest, I don't care, since Gd's help from our prayers is what we really need. I'd just prefer that our government officials understand it, besides not making up stories about "friendship." We're not allies. We can't rely on the USA. The State Department makes real policy there. Donald Trump overrode it in favor of Israel, consistently going against State Department demands. That's a major reason why he is so hated in Washington DC. But that's another story.

Davka, today I walked through both the Arab shuq in the Old City and the Machaneh Yehuda Market besides taking the lightrail.

It was business as usual in the Jerusalem I visited. There was no sign of the Biden visit until I got on the bus going home, and the driver was listening to the radio. But I don't pick fights with the bus drivers... I just took out my book and read it.

Those Were The Days... Good Trump US-Israel Relations

Two years ago Jerusalem's iconic String Bridge was all lit up in honor of American Independence Day, while Americans, Israelis and people like us celebrated in nearby Binyanei Hauma at a humongous strictly kosher bash hosted by the American Embassy in Jerusalem.

Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion
with me and my husband
This was the greatest evening imaginable showing a whole new relationship between the United States and Israel. President Trump was the first American President to follow the long time pledge and finally move the Embassy to Jerusalem.

Over the years we had been invited to some Independence Day events by the then American Consulate, but they were comparatively pathetic. Also at those consulate events 99.9% of the food was traif, meaning not kosher. There would be one table from a kosher hotel. And a high percentage of the guests were Arab, not Jewish Israelis.

With David Friedman as Ambassador the menu and guest list were very different.

In addition, the embassy and consulate gave us American citizens good service. Now there's none. Things got difficult during the peak of COVID corona, but now that it's no longer a real danger here in Israel, there hasn't been a resumption of services.

A couple of months ago I had to get something notarized by an American notary. In the past we could just get and appointment in the US Consulate, later Embassy, and then no muss, no fuss and minimal charge, it was done. Now, not even American Passports can get renewed. No consular services are available in Israel. Is the Biden-Harris administration trying to send Israel a message?

US-Israel relations have gone down hill rapidly since Biden-Harris were elected.

Facebook Rescinded Ban

former title:
According to Facebook, One Can't Mention Biden's Age

I'm in shock. According to Facebook I've gone against "community standards." All I did was share an article from The NY Post, The best and worst of Joe Biden put on display during whirlwind day by John Podhoretz to facebook and write:
It's a real shocker for me. For over a decade I figured there'd never again be an American Presidential race in which both candidates are older than I am. Joe Biden is 7 years my senior, while Donald Trump is only 3 years older than me, four years younger than Biden. If Biden's elected, he'll be over 80 before his four years as POTUS are up. In case you're wondering, Bibi is just a few months younger than me. And I'm happily retired. Why should they all want the pressure after 70?
What's wrong with it? I don't see any "spam" in what I wrote. I'm almost 71, not a kid, so why can't I mention age?

What do you think?

US VP Biden's Crooked Tunnel Vision

No surprise, but I'm really annoyed at the very selective condemnations of Arab terror coming out of American officials:
Biden condemns Jaffa terror attack upon arrival in Israel
At meeting with Peres a short distance from the stabbing, visiting US vice president expresses sorrow over death of American tourist murdered in the attack.
US Vice President Joe Biden meets with former Israeli president Shimon Peres at the Peres Center for Peace in Jaffa, March 8, 2016. (photo credit:ELAD MALKA)

Now, someone truly against terror in general aka a truly morally honest person, would condemn all of the Arab terror attacks against Jews, but it's obvious that the American Government, from POTUS Obama on down have no problem in principle with Arab attacking innocent Jews. They see them as noble "freedom fighters." And extreme Leftist Peres, so enamored with the attentions of the American Vice President, didn't think of asking Biden why he hadn't condemned all of the Arab terrorists who had been so busy attacking Jews on Tuesday to celebrate the visit.

Tuesday was one of those awful bloody days in which Arab terrorists went hyper keeping newshounds on the run from terror attack to terror attack.

When will Americans, and Europeans, international faux moralists and Israeli Leftists stop fantasizing that Abbas is a moderate capable of "making peace" sic with Israel?
Abbas’ Fatah Praises ‘Heroic Martyr’ Who Murdered U.S. Veteran

(CNSNews.com) – Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah organization on Wednesday praised as a “heroic martyr” the killer of West Point graduate and U.S. Army veteran Taylor Force, according to an Israel-based media monitoring group.
On its Facebook page, Fatah posted a sketch of a man’s hand holding a knife over a map of “Palestine,” Palestinian Media Watch reported. Across the map is written “Bashar Masalha,” the name of the 22 year-old Palestinian who stabbed Force and 11 others in the Tel Aviv-Jaffa area on Tuesday.
Written on the arm of the person holding the knife in the sketch are the words, “the heroic martyr.”
They willfully misjudge him. The reason is simple. They really want the State of Israel to be destroyed. There can be no other reason. Abbas's Fatah has always been clear about its ultimate aim. I have no patience whatsoever for anyone in the world, especially Israelis and Jews who insist on lying to themselves about the true and unhidden agenda of the Arabs.

U.S. V.P. Joe Biden Admits That Jews are Safest in Israel

Just a couple of months ago, barely, people were condemning Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for telling French Jews to make aliyah,  move to Israel, instead of remaining in France which is being plagued by ever-growing Muslim antisemitism and terrorism. The French Government even tried to talk Netanyahu out of going for the big anti-terror rally which was attended by world leaders (except most notably the Americans.)

The French Government did not want Netanyahu to upstage their attempts to whitewash the dangers to their Jewish population and Jewish visitors. I'm glad that Bibi ignored the French, and I'm also happy that he reminded French Jews that they would be safer, better protected in Israel.

This sort of message is a message that Israel is supposed to broadcast. It sounds very different when given by a foreign leader. When that happens, it's clear that the foreign leader does not want the responsibilities of a Jewish community, nor the benefits. It also shows that the said leader does not consider the Jews to be intrinsically connected to his/her country.

Joe Biden and Bibi Netanyahu
Considering the blatant antipathy of the Barack Obama Government to the State of Israel, it's no real surprise that his Vice President Joe Biden faux pased big-time.
Joe Biden’s Israel stunner: American Jews should let Israel protect them
"No matter how deeply involved you are in the U.S. … there’s only one guarantee ... and that's the state of Israel" (Salon.com Biden quoting Golda Meir)
For those who keep insisting that everything is hunky-dory for Jews in the U.S.A. I suggest taking Biden's message into consideration. Remember that his speeches are written in advance and checked for snafus. This is a very clear message from the American Government that Jews are not full-fledged Americans.

Can Prime Minister Bibi Take His Statements to Their Logical Conclusion?

Netanyahu to Biden: Abbas Doesn't Want Peace
PM Netanyahu tells visiting U.S. VP that recent comments by PA Chairman were proof that he does not want peace. Arutz 7
Simple logic demands that this statement should follow with the announcement by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that Israel is ending its participation in the farcical, wasteful and ultimately useless and dangerous for Israel "peace" sic talks.
Abbas told a delegation on Saturday that there will be "no peace between us and Israel" without eastern Jerusalem as the capital of the future Palestinian state.
Abbas added that he heard that the Israelis had refused to mention Jerusalem in any talks or negotiations.
"Let them say whatever they say. Unless it is mentioned clearly and marked in big fonts that it is the capital of the state of Palestine, there will be no peace with them and I want them to hear this," he declared.
"Our language is understandable. We have been hearing lots of talks about the capital here and there. The capital is Jerusalem and its surroundings in Jerusalem which were occupied in 1967," he said, highlighting that he is adhering to a stance that has long been official policy.
"We have a right even though we are weak in the world. We will continue to demand our rights and we will realize them," said Abbas.
The comments are nothing new, as the PA Chairman has repeatedly stressed that unless all his demands are met, there will be no peace with Israel.
I agree that Abbas is incapable of making peace with Israel, simply because his, the PA's aim is Israel's destruction.
PA leader: Stages plan to eliminate Israel is basis of PA policy
Abbas Zaki, close associate of Mahmoud Abbas, says a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders is only first stage in the PA's program because "the inspiring idea cannot be achieved all at once. [Rather] in stages"In an interview on Al-Jazeera TV in 2011, Zaki also mentioned this PA stages plan and referred to "the inspiring idea," explaining that it means the end of Israel. He said that Mahmoud Abbas shares the goal of eliminating Israel in stages, but that the PA says it only wants a state along the 1967 borders because it is unacceptable politically to say you want to destroy Israel:
"You can't say it to the world. You can say it to yourself."

Zaki stressed that the goal is clear-cut because if Israel were to return to the 1967 lines, it certainly could not survive: "Israel will come to an end."

It's not in Israel's best interests, nor in Israel's minimal interests, to ignore this.
Before meeting with Netanyahu, Biden visited President Shimon Peres and told him Israel’s security depended on “genuine accommodation” with a Palestinian state.
He characterized the Arab Spring as an “incredibly historical phenomenon,” and said “the only place where there is a possibility for an island of stability is quite frankly between the Palestinian people and the Israeli people, in two secure states respecting one another’s sovereignty and security.”
“This is one of those opportunities, one of those moments in history. It has to be seized,” Biden said, adding that US Secretary of State John Kerry is passionate about achieving a successful outcome. (Jerusalem Post)
No country, no foreign diplomat or politician will lose sleep over his/her mistaken/false statements.  And they have nothing to lose when the Arab terrorists prove them wrong.  They'll find a way to blame Israel for its own destruction, G-d forbid.

The diplomatic storm and protest over our leaving the talks will be nothing compared to what Israel would suffer if we continued and gave in to the Americans who are pushing the Arab terrorist policies. Let's leave the so-called "peace" sic talks NOW!

The New York Times--such a way with words

First I saw the New York Post, and they were full of praise for Palin after the VP debate with Biden. But that was expected. Then I read the New York Times:

...Ms. Palin exceeded expectations in this highly anticipated face-off, though those expectations were low after she had stumbled in recent television interviews. She succeeded by not failing in any obvious way. She mostly reverted to and repeated talking points, like referring to Mr. McCain as a “maverick” and the Republican ticket as a “team of mavericks,” while not necessarily quelling doubts among voters about her depth of knowledge.

Obviously it hurt them to say that Alaskan hicks may be smarter than NYers like to admit.
I'm finding this campaign very amusing, not that I'm planning on voting.
