Another Arab Terrorist Release, Salami Tactics-All Traif

Salami Tactics have been used against Israel in too many ways, the ideological, the security, the unthinkable. We've been watching our "red lines" drop and droop like delicate flowers in a hamsin wind.

Salami tactics, also known as the salami-slice strategy, is a divide and conquer process of threats and alliances used to overcome opposition. With it, an aggressor can influence and eventually dominate a landscape, typically political, piece by piece. In this fashion, the opposition is eliminated "slice by slice" until one realizes (too late) that it is gone in its entirety. In some cases it includes the creation of several factions within the opposing political party and then dismantling that party from the inside, without causing the "sliced" sides to protest. Salami tactics are most likely to succeed when the perpetrators keep their true long-term motives hidden and maintain a posture of cooperativeness and helpfulness while engaged in the intended gradual subversion.

It's hard to think of one single ideological principle that remains in the Israeli position visa-vi the Arabs and the farcical fantasy faux "peace sic process."

Over the years, the decades, it has been davka the so-called Right wing Likud that has adopted and activated what was once the ideology of the extreme Left. In the hands of the Left, it was just talk, but it was the Likud that gave the Sinai to Sadat and Gush Katif plus Northern Shomron to Hamas and local Arab terrorists.

It was also the Likud that has been freeing convicted Arab terrorist murderers, since the jails have long emptied of the unsuccessful terrorists, those who needed another chance to kill Jews. When it comes to terrorism, Israel allows more chances than a baseball game to score.

Not only have they freed convicted Arab terrorists in exchange for imprisoned Jews, but now we empty the jails just to "encourage" the terrorist leaders to talk to us.  Duh!?! What's there to talk about?

Under the framework agreement last July that led to the current Israeli-Palestinian negotiations, Israel was to release 104 convicted terrorists in four stages. Israel has already released 78 prisoners, with one final tranche left to go.

As we all know, the Arabs aren't interested in making true peace with us, and the world doesn't care if the subsequent lack of security for Israel enables the Arab terrorists to attack, murder and destroy the State of Israel.

World leaders sic have even convinced themselves that Iran is only a danger to Israel, so they yawn and ignore even the most irrefutable facts. They don't want to know the truth, and unfortunately Israeli leaders/politicians in power ignore that truth as Ruthie Blum put so well in her recent article,  Netanyahu must heed his own warnings.

On Monday, with cameras on the massive Iranian shipment, Netanyahu was trying to impress upon the international community that while it is engaging in negotiations with Iran, the "brutal regime has not abandoned its deep involvement in terrorism, its systematic efforts to undermine peace and security throughout the Middle East and its ambition to destroy the state of Israel. … Those engaged in self-deception must awaken from their slumber; we cannot allow Iran to continue building nuclear weapons."...Still, Netanyahu himself is engaged in diplomatic negotiations that are no less false, with a partner whose intentions are just as ill.Though the Palestinian Authority is a weaker entity than Iran, it shares the Islamic Republic's aim to annihilate Israel. Like Rouhani, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is credited with being a more moderate alternative to his predecessor. And like Tehran, Ramallah keeps protesting its innocence, as a way of keeping the funds flowing.Netanyahu is fully aware of this, which is why he has been insisting that the P.A. curb terrorism, desist from incitement and recognize Israel as a Jewish state as preconditions for a "peace" deal.But peace isn't on the table, as P.A. behavior -- which includes Abbas' glorifying of suicide bombers -- indicates. What is up for discussion is an Israeli withdrawal from territory inhabited by Jews. And what has already taken place is the release of many Arab terrorists from Israeli jails, in exchange for absolutely nothing.

Arab Terrorists Cheer and Jews Mourn

I couldn't think of a simpler title for this post.  Usually I try not to blog about the same topic two days in a row, but I just can't ignore the terrible policies of Likud Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.  He is encouraging Arab terrorism against innocent Israeli Jews.

There is no deterrence to prevent an Arab who is thinking of murdering a Jew, who is thinking of being an Arab terrorist.  He knows perfectly well that time in Israeli jail will have great opportunities, to further education, both academic and terrorist, and within a few years, whether he succeeded in murdering a Jew or not, he'll be freed.  And while he's in jail, the PA (Palestinian Authority) will pay a salary to his family.

The Israeli public is already numbed to the reality of this situation that while our innocent Jewish citizens are suffering from terrorism and the threat of more, our government has agreed to free more Arab terrorist murderers.

Following High Court decision to reject appeal, Israel releases 26 prisoners after midnight: 18 to West Bank, 5 to east Jerusalem and 3 to Gaza.Israel released 26 Palestinian security prisoners Monday overnight, after the High Court of Justice rejected a petition filed by bereaved families to prevent their release.
Unlike the previous 52 terrorists already released, the group released overnight included five residents of east Jerusalem. The Palestinians are demanding that in the next batch Israel include Israeli-Arabs who carried out terrorist attacks, something Jerusalem has until now adamantly refused to do.

When our enemies are cheering, we must be worried, but I don't see our Israeli Government taking responsibility nor responsible steps.


I wouldn't blame John Kerry.  He's doing his job which isn't protecting Israel.  His job is to make his boss United States President Barack Hussein Obama feel happy and look good.

The official said that during the initial talks between Netanyahu and Kerry, before the peace talks restarted, Netanyahu agreed to release 82 terrorists in several batches, none of them Israeli Arabs.
Subsequently, the same official told Channel 2, Kerry and PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas held talks of their own during which Abbas demanded the release of 104 terrorists, including Israeli Arabs. Kerry’s deception was that, instead of telling Abbas that Israel only agreed to release 82 terrorists, he then went back to Netanyahu and tried to convince him to change his position.

We need a very different Israeli Government.  As I had predicted during last year's election campaign, Naftali Bennett's claim that he could protect the State and Land of Israel while in the cabinet coalition is 100% yes one hundred percent wrong! Bennett and his NRP aka Bayit Yehudi MKs and ministers have been effectively muzzled, as are Likud's Moshe Feiglin and the MK's his supporters were advised  to vote for in the Likud Primaries.

Israel's Attempt to Prove it Wants Peace by Freeing Convicted Murdering Terrorists Doomed to Failure

As a mother, grandmother and educator I know too well that rewarding bad behavior will only reinforce and perpetuate it.  The idea that releasing convicted Arab terrorist murderers could show Israel wants peace will only result in more terrorism.

Just so readers of The Jewish Press are not confused, we’ll repeat it again. The Israeli envoy to the UN HRC in Geneva presented Israel’s release back into the wild of what is planned eventually to be more than 100 murderers of Jews as proof that Israel wants peace. More unrepentant murderers out there on the loose means peace is close to the hearts of the Israeli government, in UNspeak, and Israel is now speaking that language as well. But just in case anyone thought that Israel’s self-flagellation was enough pummeling of Israel for one HRC session, you can rest comfortably because more than 75  other member nations lined up to also vilify Israel.

To achieve peace there must be a zero tolerance concerning terrorism. Terrorists must never be rewarded with pleasant jail conditions and releasing from sentenced punishment.  Of course, I prefer the death penalty, but so far the Israeli politicians and justice system disagree with me.

Thousands of Palestinians gathered in Ramallah in the early hours of Wednesday morning to greet 21 prisoners released from Israeli custody to the West Bank as part of arrangements for the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian peace talks. Five other Palestinian prisoners were released earlier in Gaza. All 26 were convicted murderers, most of them jailed for crimes committed before the 1993 Oslo Accords.Cheers rose from the crowd, many of whom held Palestinian and Fatah flags, cameras and AK-47s aloft, as the released men were carried on shoulders from the vans that had brought them from Ofer Prison to the Palestinian city. Celebratory gunfire, whistles and shouts of Allahu Akbar were audible above the din. (Times of Israel)

That's no harbinger of true peace.

The BBC's Yolande Knell reports from the West Bank that those who have been freed are seen there as political prisoners and heroes of the Palestinian cause - but that the decision has been hugely unpopular with the Israeli public.
The Palestinians released early on Wednesday were driven from Israel's Ofer prison to the Erez crossing into Gaza and the Beituna crossing into the West Bank.
In Gaza, fireworks shot into the sky as the former inmates were driven away in a convoy. In the West Bank, the freed prisoners were taken to Ramallah, where Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas addressed a large crowd. BBC

This convicted Arab terrorist prisoner release has only upped the demands of the Arabs:

Abbas added, the report said, that the PA would continue its efforts to ensure that all terrorists serving time in Israeli jails are freed.
"All 104 prisoners [that Israel has agreed to release] will be released, but the real joy will only come when all Palestinian prisoners are released. We undertake to continue the efforts to release all prisoners until they return to their homes,” he said. (Arutz 7)

While I was eating dinner, I almost lost it, as the saying goes. The television was on with the news, here in Israel of which convicted Arab terrorists would be released this time.  Just FYI Israel has long ago used up pretty much all of the convicted terrorists who hadn't succeeded in murdering anyone, so now convicted murderers are being released for various non-legal reasons.  This time convicted Arab terrorists are being released to "encourage" the P.A. to negotiate peace with us.

Israel is set to release in the coming days 26 terrorists who killed Israeli citizens. Of the 26 terrorists set to be freed, 21 came from Judea and Samaria, and 5 from Gaza. Most committed their terror attacks before Oslo, and served sentences ranging from 19 to 28 years.

I'm so glad that the terrorist who injured me, a couple a dozen others and murdered one woman had been killed on site soon after.  I don't know how I'd handle knowing that after that dastardly act he could be allowed by the Israeli Government to be free.  The suitable punishment for such a crime is death, and thank G-d three young men who were on the scene shot him dead.  They had to deal with the police, but in the end they weren't convicted of any crime.  This was also one of the early cases when the police tried to prove the terror attack was just an "accident."  I was involved with telling the public that it was a terror attack.  I gave information to the Jerusalem Post for a front page article and double-sized editorial, wrote an op-ed and then was interviewed on live TV on the IBA.

The terrorist being released that got me extra upset was once who murdered someone in our circle.  Minutes after the attack, someone I know arrived at the scene and comforted the victim's family.  Blood from the victim got on that person's clothes.  It wasn't all that much blood, but the person kept visualizing blood all over the outfit and asked me to get it clean.  I scrubbed and scrubbed it.  It looked clean to  me, but the person I know couldn't wear it ever again.  In that person's eyes, the blood would always be there, no matter how clean it looked to others.  Thinking about it today, I see that I was wrong.  I couldn't really clean that jacket of blood. The stain of the murdered victim of Arab terror wasn't just blood red.  For  the family and and friends the blood will always be visible.

This can be compared to the situation going on now.  There are protests about the prisoner release.  The protesters still see the blood, while the government is trying to convince us that the blood had been cleaned away.  The government insists that there is only a low chance that these Arab terrorists will resume terrorism against us.

Now, I, too, see the blood.

Better The Death Penalty Than Releasing Arab Terrorist Prisoners; Bennett and MKs Snagged

For the umpteenth time I'm blogging that I am in favor the death penalty, capital punishment for Arab terrorists who murder and attempt to murder Jews.  I don't believe in giving them "second chances." If we had that in our Israeli Laws, then there wouldn't be this horrendously dangerous and weakening situation of convicted Arab terrorist murderers being released.

I also must say "I told you so" to all of those who voted not only the ruling Likud-Beitenu but for Naftali Bennett's NRP aka Jewish Home Party.  For as many elections as I've been blogging, such as all of those Knesset elections in the past decade plus, I've warned everyone who reads my blog that the Likud isn't a reliably Right party and that all parties in the coalition must obey coalition discipline and even ministers don't have a say/vote in policy decisions.

When I got home from work yesterday afternoon and turned on the news I kept hearing the top Likud ministers chastising Bennett and his MKs for publicly voicing their opposition to government policy.  This was all so easy to predict.  The Likud is correct in complaining about Bennett.  Bennett signed a contract to abide by government decisions.

A Cabinet committee unsurprisingly defeated on Sunday a motion by the Jewish Home to propose a bill that would prevent the government from freeing heavy-duty terrorists. The Ministerial Committee for Legislation voted 8-5 against the proposal, with Likud, Yesh Atid and Livni’s HaTunah party minsters opposing it and Jewish Home and Yisrael Beiteinu ministers voting for it. With Justice Minister Tzipi Livni heading the committee, the bill had no chance. Click here to understand how she wears three hats, all of them oversized. Interior Minister Gideon Sa’ar, a senior Likud member and a close aide to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, characteristically played the role of a sore winner and told Jewish Home Minister Uri Orbach, “If you don’t like it, you can resign.” Sa’ar berated the Jewish Home for daring to propose a bill that would have gone against government policy. Livni was even cruder with her snipe that the government does not act on the orders “of the rabbis in the West Bank.”

The decisions aren't made by polling all coalition MKs, or even all of the government ministers. This is nothing new, nor was it a secret before the elections and coalition negotiations.  Not to bore you, but I did post that innumerable times.  It doesn't matter or help or change things that Moshe Feiglin is now a Likud MK or that Tzippi Hotobelli is Deputy Minister of Transportation and Road Safety and NRP's Bennett is in the cabinet. They have absolutely no influence. Their job, paid job, is to back Bibi's government.

And please don't try your scare-mongering on me claiming that it would be worse if Tsippi Livni or another Leftist was Prime Minister.  I've been observing Israeli governments and politics for almost half a century, and I've seen the Likud (originally Menachem Begin's Herut) in all positions and guises.  Israel's only Land withdrawals, Sinai and Disengagement, were under Likud Governments.  The Left wouldn't dare with a strong Right opposition.  Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is always best when pushed to the wall.  That's where I want him, not in power.

The present Israeli Government is promoting policies far to the Left, and that's the truth.

Murder in the Jordan Valley

The Jordan Valley is east of Judea and Samaria, just east of Shiloh and Shevut Rachel.  It extends from the southeast of Jerusalem all the way up north to Beit She'an.

After the 1967 Six Days War it was one of the priority areas the government chose for Jews to live and work.  And the work was to be agriculture.  It's very warm there and was perfect fertile ground for agriculture, especially the very profitable for export summer crops in the winter.  There were three areas of the land liberated in 1967 that the government quickly planned for settlement, the Golan, the Jordan Valley and Northern Sinai.  When Prime Minister Menachem Begin gave Egypt's Sadat the Sinai he destroyed the Jewish agriculture in the Northern Sinai.  The Golan is a success and still very Jewish, but the Jordan Valley has more problems.  And the Arab terrorists are a big danger to the Jews there.

Last night there was a murder.  Residents heard noise, went out and were attacked.  The man was murdered and the woman escaped.

The IDF is searching the Jordan Valley for Palestinian Authority terrorists who murdered a Jewish man and lightly wounded his wife shortly after midnight Thursday.

As usual, "peace talks" raise the confidence of Arab terrorists.  Add that to the recent release of convicted Arab terrorists including murderers, and you have a recipe for disaster. This must stop. There's no way that negotiations can bring true and lasting peace.  We must execute all Arab terrorists involved with attempts to murder Jews.

The name of the victim hasn't yet been released.

Comfy Pension for Arab Terrorists

According to the latest Palestinian Media Watch bulletin, convicted Arab terrorists released from Israeli jails will receive a "Dignified Life Grant" aka a nice comfortable pension.

PMW has documented that the PA pays salaries to terrorists in prison.

Reporting on Israel's release of 26 prisoners in August as part of a goodwill gesture towards the PA, the official PA daily reported that these prisoners, who "received a hero's welcome... by senior [Palestinian] Authority officials and by their relatives" would receive grants:

"Money is not an immediate concern because the [Palestinian] Authority will pay at least 4,000 shekels a month to prisoners released after serving a long prison term, and considers them to be returning soldiers."

That's a lot of money by Arab standards. Among the interesting conversations I've had with Arabs at work in Yafiz, Sha'ar Binyamin, was the one with an Arab English teacher. The young woman commended me on my  "excellent accent" in English.  I had to admit that I came by it easily, having been born and raised in New York.  She told me that she is an English teacher and really enjoyed the opportunity to use English with someone who speaks as well as I do.  I confided that I'm actually a high school English Teacher.

"You could get a great job in Jenin or even Nablus" she said with excitement.  You could make a lot of money, four thousand shekels."

When I worked as an English Teacher, I could make lots more than that, but I didn't tell her. By Israeli standards, salary norms, ns4,000 is minimum wage or less.  So if that's what a top English Teacher is paid, then the PA considers terrorism to be an academic profession.

I just want to end this with my position about justice and what sentences these Arab terrorists should really be given.  All who killed or attempted to kill Jews should be executed.  The death sentence is the only suitable  way to punish Arab terrorists.  The precedent here is Israel is the execution of Eichmann.  I don't see any real difference between Arab terrorists and Nazis.

A Mockery of Justice, Releasing Arab Terrorist Murderers and Those Who Attempted Murder

I'm a firm believer in capital punishment, the death penalty.  Unfortunately Israel has only practiced it once when it executed Eichmann.  According to Israeli law, the death penalty is only to be used against Nazis, and the law has never been amended to include Arab terrorists who are even more dangerous.

The media, both international and Israeli, keep referring to the convicted Arab terrorists being released to encourage sic the terrorist representatives to talk to us as just innocuous, benign-sounding "prisoners."  They could be white-collar clerks caught pilfering staples or shoplifters who took too much bubblegum for all the media tells us.

I'm not in favor of comparing this illogical, dangerous act, the release of terrorist murderers with Jonathan Pollard or Jews jailed in Israel.  That's why I haven't joined any of the campaigns to free Pollard from American jail or Jewish Israelis jailed for various security breaches.  None of them are terrorists so they shouldn't be considered in parallel/similar status.

The State of Israel is making a terribly dangerous mistake in releasing the convicted Arab terrorists.  That's what they are "convicted Arab terrorists."  Keep repeating that over and over.  There's a big difference between a "prisoner" and a "convicted Arab terrorist."  One is a "prisoner" before being tried and convicted.  Quite often people are imprisoned by mistake.  These terrorists were captured, tried and convicted.  Most if not all should have had been immediately executed after conviction.

Releasing convicted Arab terrorists, no matter what Israel would get "in return" is dangerous and demonstrates that the State of Israel does not value its citizens, security, justice or sovereignty.

Two convoys left the Ayalon prison on Tuesday night at around 9 pm, carry 26 terrorists who were released as the first part of an Israeli gesture to the Palestinian Authority.
One convoy, carrying 15 terrorists traveled to the Erez junction, near Gaza, where those terrorists were released. The second convoy, carrying 11 terrorists, went to Ofer prison, and then on to the Beitunia checkpoint. The conveys reached their destinations after midnight.
Palestinian Authority Arabs have gathered to greet the terrorists upon their arrival. Over 1000 Arabs have gathered at the Muqata in Ramallah to greet the freed terrorists, and Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas will be leading a welcoming ceremony.

The implied and easy to predict dangers make me wonder about the patriotism and morals of all of the politicians and government officials involved.  They are the same people who try to marginalize what they refer to as "the settlers," aka people like myself.  In the years leading up to the Nazi invasion of Europe and the Holocaust, people like Ze'ev Jabotinsky repeatedly warned European Jewry to leave and move to Israel.  Not only was he ignored and mocked in Europe, but the dominant Labor Zionists did their best to attack and marginalize him and his Revisionist followers.  In the end it was Jabotinsky whose analyses of the situation that was correct.

We're still fighting the same war, just a different battle.  G-d willing we will soon be victorious.

IMRA has posted results of the latest Smith Poll.  I'm not very interested in the faux Knesset Election results, but I do consider the public's opinion about Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's "gestures" to the Arab terrorists to bribe them to negotiate with us.

The Likud didn't campaign with this sort of platform.  It was Tsipi Livni's.  Tsipi promised to do anything and everything in her power to make some sort of "peace deal," and she only got six out of the one hundred and twenty 120 Knesset seats.  The Likud Beitenu got thirty-one 31, which is more than five times as many.  So why is the State of Israel being ruled by Tsipi Livni?

If Bibi was a truly democratic leader, he's be ruling according to the policies people voted for.  And here's an important clarification by David Bedein.

Israelis do want peace, but we also want to be rich, have large homes etc, and we know we can't always get what we want.  We also know, from vast painful experience that these gestures and "treaties" always make our lives less secure than they had been previously.  Even Netanyahu himself has said it over and over.  But he avoids admitting it when he's in the helm as Prime Minister.  He'll admit it to get votes, but as Prime Minister he out-Lefts the Left in trying to show that he's the epitome of the political "Center."

Just some simple logic:

If the Arabs must be bribed in order to even negotiate, how can they enforce a peace agreement?
