There's a legendary motto in the IDF that nobody is left behind. But the truth is that we have lost soldiers. Some Israeli soldiers may have been kept alive in enemy prisons, and some had been killed, but their bodies were never returned to us for proper burial. Right now, I'm not talking about those killed and missing in our earliest wars, when we had very little control over things. I'm referring to a couple of relatively recent incidents.
The family of Hadar Goldin, HaYa"D, has been campaigning for a radical change in Israeli policy, which would Gd willing convince the Arab terrorists to return his body and that of back to Israel for a Jewish burial.
The animated video explained the situation of Hamas holding their son's remains captive while criticizing the Israeli government and their approach to dealing with the terrorist organization.......The Goldin family claims that in order for their son's body to stop being an asset to Hamas, Israel needs to stop "giving Hamas candies."(complete article)
I agree with everything the Goldin family is saying. In the meantime the movie is just in Hebrew, but I think that it's pretty easy to get the general idea just from the pictures.
For over two years, Hamas has refused to release Oron Shaul's body. And although Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has repeatedly promised to do everything to get the body... nada... nothing. And in the meantime, the Israeli Government continuously releases to families the bodies of dead Arab terrorists, including those who murdered innocent Jews.
There was a time when Israel prided itself on not leaving IDF bodies behind...
According to Jewish Tradition, one is to be very careful and caring of the dead Jewish body.
It is to be washed in a specific, gentle and ritualistic way, tahara.
The body is not to be just stuffed in a morgue refrigerator. There should be a guard who will say certain prayer while waiting for burial, shmira.
Burial should be as soon after death as possible, preferably even the same day.
Related to this is that one of the IDF's paramount principles was never to leave a soldier's body in the field. That was even if it would endanger the rescuing soldiers.
“The time has come for the Israeli government to internalize the fact that it has the ability to put Hamas under a great deal of pressure to return Oron and Hadar,” the Goldin family said. The family added that the return of terrorists’ bodies should be conditioned on the return of the bodies of the two fallen IDF soldiers.
During this time period bodies of Arab terrorists have been handed over to their families. There is no reason to do so. We must first demand that our soldiers' remains be returned, and only after genetic testing proves that they have been, may we return Arab terrorist bodies.
Last night a friend in the travel (in Israel) business mentioned how impossible it is to find hotel rooms in Netanya, "since it's a place that hasn't been hit by Arab terrorism." I guess that was the "eyin haraa" that broke that record.
Terrorist shot after stabbing elderly man in Netanya (Jerusalem Post)
Stabbing in Netanya; One injured, terrorist neutralized 71 year-old man seriously wounded in third stabbing of the day.
The attack unfolded at approximately 5:50 pm local time, when the terrorist stabbed the man on Tachkemoni Street, off of Binyamin Blvd.
Magen David Adom (MDA) medics treated the man for stab wounds to his upper body and transferred him to Laniado Hospital, where he is listed in serious condition. Channel 10 has updated his condition to critical.
The terrorist, a 22 year-old Palestinian Arab resident of Tulkarm in northern Samaria (directly east of Netanya - ed.), was shot and neutralized at the scene and is also seriously injured. (Arutz 7)
And, also for the first time, there was an Arab terror attack in Rishon Letzion. Obviously, no place is immune from terror, and the Arabs aim for the destruction of the entire State of Israel Gd forbid.

Palestinian assailant stabs three people in Rishon Lezion terror attack
In Rishon Lezion, a Palestinian man from Hebron stabbed three Israelis – including an 80-year-old woman late in the afternoon.
The assailant, described by police as a 19-year-old man from Hebron, stabbed a passenger on a bus in Rishon as it reached the corner of Herzl and Tarmav Street, in a central part of the city packed with people.
The terrorist then stabbed another victim on the sidewalk, police said, before stabbing a third victim and fleeing into several stores. (Jerusalem Post)
After over two months of random, meaning it could happen anyplace and anytime, Arab terror attacks, life is slowly returning to "normal" in Israel. There's a limit as to how long Israelis can stay home, especially when home sometimes doesn't seem any safer than outside.
The vast majority of Israelis, push comes to shove, prefer that the Arab terrorist get killed/executed in action to save our tax money from healing him/her in the hospital and to prevent the bewildering and fokokt theatre of the absurd when they are tried as ordinary criminals. Also, if the potential terrorists and their families realize that any attack would be suicide, some may be deterred from trying.
And the bodies of the terrorists must be held by Israel until all Israelis, alive and dead, are returned. Mother of missing soldier slams return of terrorists' bodies. We must think first of ourselves and not worry about the feelings and dignity of our enemies!!!
