Not that anyone really listens to me, but I see American political trends very clearly from far away in Israel.
The Democrats have been moving to the Radical Left, while middle America and even the Hispanics, who are doing everything legal and illegal to enter the USA, prefer old time family values and conservative morality.
What do you think? Where do you live? Reply in comments, thanks.

Sexist "Vote Female" Voting Facilitated Rise of Radical Leftists
Don't get me wrong. I'm not against Women's Rights. I have nothing against seeing more women in positions of political and economic power. But voting "blind" for women, just because you want women's number to increase" to governmental positions is dangerous.
Many Americans, even in the Democratic Party, and political observers all over the world are horrified at the antisemitic, shockingly ignorant photogenic chutzpadik Radical Leftist females who are now getting all the press in the United States Congress.
It's hard to believe that so many voters would have voted for them if they had paid careful attention to the qualifications and statements, opinions prior to the new congresswomen's campaigns. Most of the newbies moderated their positions a bit to make them more palatable for the electorate, but their unsuitability to such important public office was obvious. They all come from the very radical Socialist Left. The Democratic Party has moved to the Far Left of the political spectrum, and even the more "moderate" Democrats are trying to excuse and whitewash the antisemitic, anti-Israel, pro-Socialism policies of the new Members of Congress.
Unfortunately, American Jewry is at the forefront of this Leftist-Socialist radicalization of the Democratic Party. They are major donors and supporters of the Extreme Radical Left in some perverse and totally inaccurate opinion that the Democrats have always been the best for the Jewish People and State of Israel. Facts are very different. FDR Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Joseph Kennedy I did everything they could to keep Jewish refugees out of the USA during the Holocaust. And when Harry Truman overrode the State Department to demand that the American Ambassador to the United Nations vote in favor of a Jewish State, it was his private/personal decision after a friend spoke to him, not due to the Democratic Party. Remember that the most recent Democratic President, Barack Hussein Obama was the most anti-Israel president. In an unprecedented move, he used his time as a "lame duck" to an support extremely anti-Israel resolution in the United Nations. And the most recent Democratic National Convention had a strong anti-Israel and anti-American content.
Today's Democratic Party isn't the party of Adlai Stevenson or LBJ Lyndon Baines Johnson.
Check the "fine print" before voting. The gender of the candidate shouldn't be your deciding factor. Vote SMART not sexist.

Caroline Glick's US Elections Article Complements Mine
Last last week, I wrote an article about the recent US Elections, Who Really Won the 2018 American Elections. And on Friday, so did Caroline Glick, WHAT AMERICA CHOSE ON TUESDAY. I must admit that Glick's article had many more facts and interesting information than mine did. And I do recommend that you read her article; it's much more informative than mine. Of course, she's a professional, and I just dabble in these things.
Glick and I did come to the same conclusion, that it's good for the Republicans. But unless I missed it she didn't mention what I considered a very important point. American senators serve for six years, while congressmen only serve two years. The Senate bothers the American Left, because each state has the same number of senators, regardless of size and population.
One of Glick's excellent points in her article is the rise of the radical Left in the Democratic Party. This is worrying for Israel, since the radical Left is extremely anti-Israel and pro-Palestine. They consider us invaders.
American society is undergoing a lot of upheaval and hatred. It's getting more dangerous and less tolerant. Honestly, I'm very glad to be living in Israel.

If Bogie's the Alternative, I'll Stick With Bibi
Simply put, I see Bogie Ya'alon as the Right's Ehud Barak.
If you've been wondering why I haven't written about attending any of the "anti-corruption" rallies, it's because I don't see them as sincere, or as it's said in Hebrew, לשם שמיים, lisheim shamayim, for the sake of Heaven. They are clearly political tricks/cons to get Prime Minister Binyamin "Bibi" Netanyahu out of office. I agree that he's far from perfect, but I don't see anyone who can replace him, certainly not former Defense Minister Moshe “Bogie” Ya’alon.
It's pretty obvious, that this "movement" is backed by people with a not so hidden agenda, and their agenda is to get Netanyahu out of office. If anyone has the means and connections, then please FOLLOW THE MONEY. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up coming form international Leftists, like Soros and those who financed the "anyone but Bibi" and V15 during the last Israeli elections.
I don't trust Bogie any more than I'd trust Ehud Barak or Barack Hussein Obama and his backers. Years ago, I'd heard Bogie touted as the "great Right hope," and I never saw him prove it when in office. That's why I spent yesterday evening at a football game, American tackle football. I saw more honesty on the field, than I would have heard from the speakers at the demonstration.

The Obama administration is using taxpayer dollars to fund a radical anti-Israel group that aims to drive Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from office in March parliamentary elections. The International Left has plenty of money, but it didn't help them in the USA 2016 Elections. Trump won.
And the U.S.-based group receiving the U.S. government money, OneVoice International, in turn is working with V15, an "independent grassroots movement" in Israel, according to Ha'aretz. V15's unofficial motto is said to be "anyone but Bibi," a reference that includes the prime minister's nickname. complete article click

Dictatorship of The Judicial Left
View from Israeli Supreme Court Building
Here in Israel, we suffer from the whims of a Leftist dictatorship. The Supreme Court takes its title much too seriously. Its "justices" really think they're supreme, higher authority than all others including the laws voted by the Knesset, Israel's Parliament.
The "justices" decide whether laws can stand or not.
When deciding cases, they don't take into account the laws of the State of Israel, they judge according to their ideology and agendas.
Most Israeli citizens completely disagree with the decisions and ideologies of the "justices." Ordinary Israelis don't vote for them. Actually, neither do the Knesset Member who are elected, as part of party lists, by Israeli citizens. The "justices" vote in their successors to perpetuate their agendas and ideologies.
Even though the "justices" claim that they are the epitome of "democracy" and democratic thought, the very system and their dominance in Israeli life and law is totally anti-democratic. It's no less that a complete dictatorship. It mocks democracy. Those faux "justices" endanger the State of Israel.

The Radical Jewish Left and The 1967 Six Days War
There are too many, OK even one would be bad, radical Leftist Jewish groups calling themselves "pro-Israel" while their policies support the delegitimization and dismantling of the State of Israel.
Here in Israel there's "Peace Now," as if "peace" is s commodity that one can just buy for a price. And there are those women's groups that harass soldiers who are too polite or confused to arrest them.
Internationally there's BDS, as insidious as a group can be, trying to attack Israel's economy, even though many, or most for sure, of the businesses they target employ the very same Arabs they claim to support.
And there's J Street, the darling of the American Left, like Obama, the Clintons etc.
It used to be that American pro-Israel Jewry, Right, Left and Center, could unite around groups like AIPAC, but the anti-Israel element in American Jewish society has been getting bolder. They're beginning to remove their "pro-Israel" disguises and revealing their essence, allowing the world to see the truth. They are pro-Arab, pro-Palestine and do not accept the legitimacy of the State of Israel and Zionism.
It's now a half a century since the 1967 Six Days War, which was a war for the very survival of the State of Israel. Today it's only my generation and older who remember the war and the tension and threats that led to it.

American Protesters' Cause Isn't Clear to Israel
It used to be that American pro-Israel Jewry, Right, Left and Center, could unite around groups like AIPAC, but the anti-Israel element in American Jewish society has been getting bolder. They're beginning to remove their "pro-Israel" disguises and revealing their essence, allowing the world to see the truth. It's now a half a century since the 1967 Six Days War, which was a war for the very survival of the State of Israel. Today it's only my generation and older who remember the war and the tension and threats that led to it.
The State of Israel had to fight for its life, its very existence, and we had absolutely no allies.
- Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Jordan allied against Israel under the leadership of Abdel Nasser of Egypt.
- Nasser demanded that the United Nations remove its peacekeeping forces from the Suez Canal, and the UN complied.
- Nasser announced that he was going to destroy the State of Israel, pushing it into the sea.
- And the world was silent.
Not only was the world silent, no condemnations of Nasser, but you could feel them sitting comfortably waiting to see how long it would take for Israel to be defeated. At the time, Israel was a very poor, rather backwards country with a brain-drain population loss. And the popular joke was:
"Would the last person to leave, please turn off the lights at Lod Airport."
It was just over twenty years since the end of World War Two, and it was easy to see that little had changed since that same "world" had ignored the murder of six million Jews by the Nazis and had done nothing to stop it.
The totally miraculous result of the Six Days War shocked Israelis as much as it shocked and horrified those who had been secretly hoping that Nasser would succeed. I have no delusions. I remember it all so well. The pro-Soviet Israeli Left had more power and influence in Israeli society than people like to admit. That's why there wasn't immediate annexation and settlement of the Land we so miraculously liberated.
Israel didn't decide on that surprise attack on the Arab air forces for a "land grab." It was the only way our smaller and weaker military forces had a chance to survive a war. It was also clear that if Nasser made military headway, more armies would join him against us, and the State of Israel wouldn't have had a chance to defeat them. Remember that we were all alone; we had no allies at all.
The State of Israel's victory in 1967 was of Biblical proportions and due to the miracles Gd performed.
And [we thank You] for the miracles, for the redemption, for the mighty deeds, for the saving acts, and for the wonders which You have wrought for our ancestors in those days, at this time— (Chabad)

Richard Gere, Perfect for Purim
I don't know how far and wide the exposure and publicity Richard Gere's Israeli interviews have gotten, but they got intolerably too much press here in Israel.
As the entire world heard at the pinnacle of the Academy Awards presentation this year when veteran and revered actors Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway showed that their specialty is reading lines, not comprehending them. Richard Gere's statements are on the same track. The utter nonsense Richard Gere has spouted as his plans for the Middle East is as realistic as the worst of Science Fiction or at best Fantasy. Gere reminds me of my students' insistence that James Bond was a real historic character, and the books and movies were based on true facts.
Honestly, anyone who thinks that the corrupt terrorists ruling in Gaza and Ramalla can morph into peaceful, tolerant and reliable leaders has been watching (or acting in-- like in Method acting) too much Hollywood fantasy and Science Fiction.
The utter irony is that some of his words were totally on target, but his Leftist ideology distorts his comprehension of reality.

RICHARD GERE: THERE IS ‘NO DEFENSE’ OF ISRAEL’S OCCUPATION OR ‘ILLEGAL’ SETTLEMENTSGere is a convincing actor, but that doesn't mean that his knowledge and understanding of the situation here is more than superficial. All he's doing is repeating the Obama-Kerry lines, which we all know are based on a pro-Arab, pro-Palestine even if it causes the destruction of the State of Israel ideology.

“Truth is dead, the obvious is dead, language is dead,” he told Channel 2’s Dana Weiss... (the algemeiner)Considering Gere's visit and Purim Holiday, we can see that Gd has a great sense of humor. You can read it that Richard Gere admitted that his "truth" is a lie, since “Truth is dead" in his very words. The real Truth is you must take Gere's message and reverse it.
- Settlements are completely legal.
- Israel is meant to be in all of the Land liberated in the 1967 Six Days War.
That man sure needs a better scriptwriter...

Haman in Modern Times
Like that classic story about terror, fascism etc starting with the policies and actions against Jews, those looking clearly without PC-distorted lenses can easily see the progression of violence in the United States, Europe etc. Caroline Glick tells the story perfectly clearly. Here we are on the first morning of Purim 5777. Read:
As I read this on Shabbat, I knew that it was the perfect message for Purim. Haman is alive and still trying to murder not only all of the Jewish People, but all who refuse to accept his/their ideologies.COLUMN ONE: THE RISE OF THE NETWORKED LEFT

The riots against Murray and Yiannopoulis alerted non-Jewish Americans to the intellectual and moral decay of their campuses.
An acrid stench of repression is spreading through America.
Last Thursday, conservative political scientist Charles Murray from the American Enterprise Institute was attacked by a leftist mob at Middlebury College.
Murry was invited to Middlebury by the college’s AEI club. He was to discuss his new book, Coming Apart, which discusses the plight of white working class Americans. Middlebury’s liberal political science professor Allison Stanger was set to ask him questions about his work.
As has been widely reported, a mob of leftist students prevented Murray from speaking. They shouted him down with a stream of epithets that went on without interruption, until Murray and Stanger were spirited out of the lecture hall.
They were brought to another location where they carried out their conversation in front of a camera that was livestreaming to students blocked by the mob from hearing them in person. The mob followed them to the new location and rioted outside the room as they spoke.
The rioters assaulted them as they made their way from the second location to their car. They hurt Stanger in the neck.
The assault continued after the professors entered their getaway car and at the restaurant where they tried to dine at with students.
In the end Murray and his companions were forced to leave town in order to have dinner away from the rioters. Stanger was later treated for her wounds at a local hospital.
The riot against Murray at Middlebury occurred barely a month after right-wing provocateur Milo Yiannopoulis was blocked from speaking at the University of California at Berkeley by a similarly violent mob. The Berkeley rioters caused more than $100,000 in property damage. They beat up students who came to hear Yiannopoulis speak. Complete article here click

International Leftist Interference in Israeli Affairs
You certainly know what they say about paranoids having enemies...
In the USA there's talk of possible Russian (shades of the USSR) interference in recent elections. Of course, it all depends on whether you're a follower of the NY Times or FOX News. But here in Israel, it's very much documented fact that numerous countries and international bodies from the United Nations and European Union on down have been supporting anti-Israel and extreme Leftist Israeli NGOs for a very long time.
All the facts and numbers can be found on the NGO Monitor site, hat tip for the reminder, Ruthie Blum on Algemeiner.
In all honesty it is nice to be able to prove it, but I'd really like a way to stop it. Noother self respecting country would put up with such sabotage. Yes, sabotage and espionage, too. These pro-Arab radical Leftists have succeeded in limiting the normal acceptable actions and procedures of the security forces, because their agents and cameras seem to be every place.
And frequently their cameras are so close to and focused on an Arab terror attack against innocent Jews it doesn't take much imagination and logic to assume that maybe those NGOs had actually initiated and directed the attack... I still think that was the original background to the Elor Azaria case, and it should have been very thoroughly investigated. Why was that cameraman there? You don't have to be a university math professor to add 1 + 1 = 2.
How's your math?

NGO Monitor President Prof. Gerald Steinberg said, “The unique and disproportionate funding that a small group of Israeli NGOs get from European governments is used to influence Israeli politics and society. Over the past four years alone, 34 Israeli NGOs have received nearly a quarter of a billion shekels. Our new database brings this essential information directly to journalists, the public and decision-makers, increasing transparency in a clear, comprehensive and user-friendly way.”

The Obama Bucket List: Cuba, Vietnam and Hiroshima
Lame Duck POTUS Barack Hussein Obama has been celebrating his final months as United States President in rather ...surprising? Leftist? radical ways.
It's hard for any American of my generation to imagine a United States President having an official state visit to Cuba and meeting Raúl Castro. But Obama has changed the relationship between the USA and Cuba a complete 180 degrees.
Another shocker for me, at least, is Obama's visit to Vietnam. When I left the United States it was at war in Vietnam.
Maybe I've missed something, but I can't figure out how those countries changed sufficiently to cause a United States President to grin and glow like a winner of a gazillion dollar lottery.
And POTUS Obama's opening statement in Japan shows just how disengaged he is from American history:
After Obama, the United States will never be the same. No doubt that is why Donald Trump is now leading in the polls had to head against Hillary Clinton! If you are among those who don't like it, you can blame it on Barack Hussein Obama!

Bernie Sanders, More Radical Leftist than Jew
You can call Bernie Sanders a "mehadrin radical Leftist" and a shanda, too. And even though many Jews in the USA and Israel may find this hard to accept, he would not be good for Israel if elected President of the United States of America. And I don't know how good he'd be for the USA...
Radical anything isn't all that great. A good government cares for all. And even in the American "winner takes all" system, in which the Executive branch aka the president does not need to work with a formal coalition (the Israeli system,) most winners, regardless of their political philosophy, find themselves moving towards the "center." For Sanders, that would probably leave him still well to the Left of Obama. That's because Sanders is a strong dedicated ideologue, of a generation that takes its politics very seriously, like religion.
While the Carter, Bush, Obama and and other political families loved to show what dedicated churchgoers they are, we shouldn't expect that from Bernie Sanders. From what has been revealed about his religious allegiance, he lives neither as a Jew nor a Christian. As I said, his Radical Leftist ideology is his "religion." Sanders is so far removed from the Jewish American community and organizations, he hadn't a clue that his appointee as Jewish Outreach Coordinator, Simone Zimmerman would alienate him even further from mainstream Jewish America. Zimmerman’s anti-Occupation, pro-BDS stance got him less support form American Jews rather than more.
No doubt you know that I also don't want to see Hillary Clinton as United States President, and we all know that the Democrats have a pretty empty bottle of tricks this year. The only two wannabes are of retirement age.
That brings us to the other party, the Republicans. Now I know that most American Jews prefer breaking the Jewish Mitzvah of kashrut, only eating the permitted foods, but they are strict when it comes to "voting Democrat." I suggest they throw out their lobster and bacon and then try voting Republican, no matter who gets the nomination.

Not All Refugees Deserve Our Help!
Isaac Herzog (L) and Hilik Bar (C) shake hands with "Palestinian President" sic Mahmoud Abbas as they attend a meeting in Ramallah October 7, 2013. Reuters
Israel must welcome Syrian refugees: Labour's HerzogDuh?
"Our people has experienced first-hand the silence of the world and cannot be indifferent in the face of the murder and massacre raging in Syria," Herzog posted on his Facebook page. Speaking at a panel discussion in Tel Aviv, he called on the government "to act toward receiving refugees from the war in Syria, in addition to the humanitarian efforts it is already making." (Yahoo News)
Herzog can't actually believe that those Syrian refugees, who although they want to get away from their own awful government can be law abiding Israelis? Are the Arabs here in Israel peaceful, law-abiding and taxpaying etc?
Just because those Syrians may not get along with Syrian Dictator Bashar al-Assad does not put them in the category of the Jews who fled Hitler's Europe and other Jewish refugees over the millennia. There is also no connection to the Vietnamese refugees Menachem Begin invited to live in Israel when he was Prime Minister.
After the Lebanese war, Israel also accepted allies from South Lebanon whose lives would be in danger if they had stayed there. If you understand spoken Hebrew, here's the plea of a young Israeli-Lebanese woman from that community.

She totally opposes Buji's proposal. When it was posted on my facebook page, there were many comments bringing up further problems in Israel with his ridiculous idea. And don't forget that Mahmoud Abbas is also claiming to be in favor of it, although he has the most to lose, because they will support Hamas over Fatah any day.
And to show Buji's unabided hypocrisy and illogic, his Leftist Labor party is always claiming that poverty in Israel is climbing, so why welcome more non-Jewish anti-Israel refugees? We haven't solved so many of our own socio-economic problems? Israel is at present full of illegals who are taking over the poorer neighborhoods in the large cities pushing out and terrorizing Jewish residents. The crime rates in those areas are climbing.
True Jewish Morality demands that we first take care of our own and we aren't doing it. Are we?

What is the Attraction of ISIS and Radical Islam?
For quite awhile now, the news has been full of stories about otherwise normal, even educated and affluent people who have joined ISIS and radical Islam.
The British were horrified to hear a man with a London accent announcing the beheading of James Foley last year.
In Israel it has been revealed that Arab teachers, not unemployed or poverty-stricken manual laborers, promoted ISIS.
A recent front page story in the International New York Times was about a young American woman who had been recruited into a radical Islamic group via the internet.
At the same time as they were turning extreme Left and then to terror, I was discovering genuine Torah Judaism through NCSY and YU Seminars. The 1960s was a time when many people searched for a truth and purity to enrich our lives. I couldn't understand those who had been attracted to violence and hate then, and I can't figure them out now. My fellow classmates in high school, Great Neck North, went to civil rights demonstrations, while the civil rights I demonstrated for were that of Soviet Jews.
It's clear that there is something missing in the lives of many that attract them to the focus and discipline of extreme Islam. It's very much the opposite of the prevailing, "no truth" and no absolute value system in modern life. Many people want the certainty of definite right and wrong, even when some of the principles go against the normative western morality.
I think that the world as we've known it the past seventy years or so, since the end of World War Two is about to make a radical change.

Foley beheading
British authorities launched a hunt on Wednesday for a man with an English accent who appeared in an Islamic State (IS) video purporting to show what Prime Minister David Cameron called the "barbaric and brutal" beheading of an American journalist.
A masked IS jihadist, dressed in black, who stood next to a kneeling James Foley in the video released online spoke with what sounded like a London accent.
In Israel it has been revealed that Arab teachers, not unemployed or poverty-stricken manual laborers, promoted ISIS.
Israel's Shin Bet undercover internal security agency and police said on Monday they had arrested and charged six Arab citizens, including four school teachers, with supporting and spreading the ideology of Islamic State.
The six, residents of the Bedouin Negev desert town of Hura in southern Israel, were charged with various offences and three were alleged to have planned joining Islamic State militants in Syria, a statement from Shin Bet said.
"The investigation uncovered that the suspects met secretly to discuss and promote Islamic State's ideology," Shin Bet said.
"The hard core among the activists are employed at schools in the Negev. Some took advantage of their position and attempted to plead the case for ISIS among pupils and teachers on school premises," it added. (Reuters)
A recent front page story in the International New York Times was about a young American woman who had been recruited into a radical Islamic group via the internet.
Alex, a 23-year-old Sunday school teacher and babysitter, was trembling with excitement the day she told her Twitter followers that she had converted to Islam.I can go on and on with examples. But the question is why anyone could be attracted to such a life. In a sense it brings me back to the days of the late 1960's in the United States with the rise of the extreme radical Leftist "weathermen" group of terrorists. They did not come from the lower classes at all.
For months, she had been growing closer to a new group of friends online — the most attentive she had ever had — who were teaching her what it meant to be a Muslim. Increasingly, they were telling her about the Islamic State and how the group was building a homeland in Syria and Iraq where the holy could live according to God’s law.
One in particular, Faisal, had become her nearly constant companion, spending hours each day with her on Twitter, Skype and email, painstakingly guiding her through the fundamentals of the faith. But when she excitedly told him that she had found a mosque just five miles from the home she shared with her grandparents in rural Washington State, he suddenly became cold.
The only Muslims she knew were those she had met online, and he encouraged her to keep it that way, arguing that Muslims are persecuted in the United States. She could be labeled a terrorist, he warned, and for now it was best for her to keep her conversion secret, even from her family. So on his guidance, Alex began leading a double life. She kept teaching at her church, but her truck’s radio was no longer tuned to the Christian hits on K-LOVE. Instead, she hummed along with the ISIS anthems blasting out of her turquoise iPhone, and began daydreaming about what life with the militants might be like...
For the bombing of the United States Capitol on March 1, 1971, they issued a communiqué saying that it was "in protest of the U.S. invasion of Laos". For the bombing of the Pentagon on May 19, 1972, they stated that it was "in retaliation for the U.S. bombing raid in Hanoi". For the January 29, 1975 bombing of the United States Department of State building, they stated that it was "in response to the escalation in Vietnam".[4]
The Weathermen grew out of the Revolutionary Youth Movement (RYM) faction of SDS. It took its name from Bob Dylan's lyric, "You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows", from the song "Subterranean Homesick Blues" (1965). "You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows", was the title of a position paper that they distributed at an SDS convention in Chicago on June 18, 1969. This founding document called for a "white fighting force" to be allied with the "Black Liberation Movement" and other radical movements[6] to achieve "the destruction of U.S. imperialism and achieve a classless world: world communism".[7] (Wikipedia)
