Antisemitism, Not Ignorance, Fuels the World's Policies

Sorry, but I'm rather pessimistic about educating "the world" about Jewish History, rights and connections to the Land of Israel. I think it's antisemitism that is behind most policy, not ignorance.

Most people all over aren't interested in the truth. They just don't want Jews around. That's how Hitler had such an easy job in discriminating against and later murdering Jews. Not only did the ordinary citizens of the various countries invaded by Nazi Germany cooperate with Hitler's plan, but the USA, which found itself being forced to try to "rescue" Great Britain and other countries, didn't have stopping the anti-Jewish Holocaust in its battle plans.

Here we are almost a hundred years later, yes, I'm rounding off the 80+ to a century, and our Jewish and Israeli leaders still expect justice and truth.
DEFENSE MINISTER: EUROPEANS PUTTING HEADS IN THE SAND

“The Europeans continue to put their heads in the sand, exactly like they did before World War II,” Liberman told Channel 2. “The leaders of Europe prefer to run away from reality.”
I'm a pragmatist, which makes me a pessimist.

Unfortunately, we're the ones who are putting our heads in the sand by not recognizing the antisemitism so prevalent in the world, including the international bodies which claim to support justice and human rights.

I'm glad that our Prime Minister Netanyahu has followed US President Trump in announcing that we're leaving UNESCO, but I'm embarrassed that Bibi didn't take the initiative first. The problems with UNESCO aren't new. And I wonder how long it will take for both countries to rejoin...

You know what they say about paranoids having enemies...

UNESCO Vote Sure Suits Parshat Balak

Honestly, I don't care what UNESCO thinks about Judaism's connection to the Tomb of the Patriarchs. They are anti-Jewish and anti-Israel, same as the rest of the United Nations.

Nothing we say or do will change it. It's nice that Trump's appointed Ambassador to the United Nations is  opposed to the decision, but it won't make any real difference.  The Nations of the world do not want to be convinced of Jewish Rights to anything in the Land of Israel. And we weaken ourselves by trying to get them to favor us.

In this week's Torah Portion of the week, Balak, it says:
Numbers, Bamidbar 23:7He took up his parable and said, "Balak the king of Moab has brought me from Aram, from the mountains of the east [saying], 'Come, curse Jacob for me and come invoke wrath against Israel.'

8How can I curse whom God has not cursed, and how can I invoke wrath if the Lord has not been angered?

חמָ֣ה אֶקֹּ֔ב לֹ֥א קַבֹּ֖ה אֵ֑ל וּמָ֣ה אֶזְעֹ֔ם לֹ֥א זָעַ֖ם יְהֹוָֽה:
9For from their beginning, I see them as mountain peaks, and I behold them as hills; it is a nation that will dwell alone, and will not be reckoned among the nations.

We must remember that our strength lies in our being together with Gd and not dependent or allied with foreigners.

This Land was given to the Jewish People by Gd, and that is why it is fertile and rich today. We must thank Gd and not the United Nations or the United States. We must remember that.

Equating Judaism with Islam and Christianity Belittles Our Legitimacy

There are so many forms of antisemitism, and some are so artfully subtle. Not every antisemite is a raging violent Nazi.

Nazis have gotten all the "bad press," because they not only murdered others, besides Jews, but they attacked and conquered many countries in an attempt to take over Europe and then the world.

Personally, I'm more concerned about the "even handed" who give "legitimacy" to religions that promote "identity theft" and have "hijacked our Bible, historic narrative and Land. Yes, I'm referring to Christianity and Islam. That's why I'm not at all consoled by attempts to "include" Judaism's connection to Jerusalem along with Christianity and Islam by UNESCO. Equating the three religions is so historically inaccurate that I see it as a very obvious attempt to distort Judaism's role and connection not only to the Land of Israel but to the actual development of the two other religions.

Judaism, the Jewish People and History existed, with documentation, for two thousand 2,000 years before the beginnings of Christianity. Actually, Christianity first developed as a version of Judaism by Jews. It took a few hundred years for them to declare Jesus a god and leave the Jewish religion and people completely. But they never completely severed their ties with our Bible and Land, even when they set up their headquarters in the Vatican. That's why they call their bible the "new"testament. They see it as a revision of Judaism, and that's why I make a point of calling it the "Christian bible." To use their name for it is a recognition of their legitimacy. The thriving and continued existence of the Jewish People is highly problematic for Christian theologians, because their main principle is that they have replaced us as god's people.

Islam also developed to replace the Jewish People and its Koran includes some biblical stories for that purpose. One thing that the Koran does not include is Jerusalem. All of this emphasis on Jerusalem as central to their religion is more recent and insidious.

I, for one, am not at all comforted by any attempt to include Judaism in the group of religions connected to Jerusalem and the Holy Land. I think that lumping us all together is extremely dangerous and delegitimizes us, our religion and history. By accepting that problematic premise we are participating in an ideological Holocaust against ourselves.

Is it Finally Time for Israel to Leave the United Nations?

cdn2.vtourist.com

Israel is always held under a very distorted microscope in the United Nations, condemned  for all sorts of imaginary crimes. No other country is held up to such neurotic psychotic scrutiny. The recent UNESCO outrage about Jerusalem and the Western Wall not having any Jewish connection is just the tip the an iceberg of rampant antisemitism/anti-Zionism.

Honestly, what's the point of staying in and spending all the money on dues and maintaining an office and staff in New York and other places involved in United Nations activities?

What do you think?

Ladies, Boycott "Always"

As you would most probably guess, I'm past the age of needing "Always" and similar products. But I must admit that in my day, that was the brand I frequently bought. A few days ago, a friend tipped me off about the fact that "Always" supports UNESCO. Yes, that means that every time you buy a package, you're supporting an international organization that downplays and denies the Jewish connection to our holiest sites. UNESCO also accepted Palestine, sic as a member since 2011.

What a sorry state of affairs when women have to choose their sanitary napkins according to politics!

And even worse... Did you notice the blue P&G logo?

P&G

Always is a product of a very large company that makes other iconic products like Pampers, Tampax and Tide! If you have any of these at home or see them in a store, please check to see if they, too, give some of their profits to UNESCO or a similar type of NGO. Please comment with relevant information.

UNESCO's Anti-Jewish Policy Due to Israel's Ambivalence

From my visit/ascending to Har Habayit almost two years ago
There has been a big hue and cry here in Israel about the UNESCO's Anti-Jewish Statements re: Israeli/Jewish connection to our holy sites by the very same people who are complicit in perpetuating the problem.
UNESCO adopts resolution ignoring Jewish ties to Temple Mount
Resolution refers to Temple Mount area solely as Al-Aksa Mosque/Al-Haram Al Sharif, except for two references to the Western Wall Plaza that were put in parenthesis.
Our Jewish group waits while non-Jewish tourists are allowed
ahead of us, fewer restrictions for them
The hypocrisy really annoys me. The same people, such as Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu and MK Yair Lapid, who have no problem with the rulings forbidding Jewish worship and easy access to Har Habayit complain about the UNESCO resolution.

This terrible Israeli policy, and the handing to the Wakf "the keys" soon after our miraculous 1967 victory is the reason all sorts of foreign/international and even some Israeli groups have de-judaized our holiest spot.

This anti-Jewish policy is supported by successive Israeli Governments.
"Announcement and Warning
According to Torah Law, entering the Temple Mount Area is strictly forbidden due to the holiness of the site."
In actuality, this is not entirely true. Only one tiny section is too holy to enter, and there are easy to accomplish purification tasks one can do beforehand. And if it is so holy, then why allow others to defile it with ease?

Since this Israeli Law has been in effect for decades, why should our politicians be so outraged? We've deserted our holiest site and given it to a bunch of dangerous anti-Israel terrorists!!
