Israeli Elections Musings #4, Preparing for Third Undecided Panel Discussion-Decisions Still Unknown

Israeli Elections are getting closer, but my decision about which political party to vote for seems further away than ever. Many friends feel the same way.

I don't want anyone involved in the October 7, 2023 fiasco in power any more, and that's not only Binyamin Netanyahu and his loyal poodles. That includes all the powerful generals who've been leading the IDF, Military Intelligence and other national security honchos for the past decade or more. They're heavily involved in the failures. I'm also suspicious of those who had gone to the USA for "training," better described as brainwashing. They drank the Koolaid claiming that tiny Israel, surrounded by real enemies, only needs a "small, smart army." I guess that's why civilians got to the Nova site and the attacked southern communities faster that the IDF.

In addition, it won't help much to fill the Knesset with people who don't know the system... grrr, yup. That's part of why I'm so UNDECIDED. No party or MK at this point has my full trust aka vote. In Israel we vote for political parties, not for individuals. And no political party ends up with a majority of the one hundred and twenty 120 Knesset seats. Various parties must form coalitions to rule in theory, but Binyamin Netanyahu discovered a way out of that, and he did it a number of times in recent decades. We went through a series of elections that didn't result in a coalition, so Bibi Netanyahu was able to continue to rule as Prime Minister with a select minority of Knesset Members.

It only ended when Naftali Bennett made history crafting a coalition, while leading a small party of only seven members. Bennett's coalition fell after Bibi "bribed" a couple of MKs with promises of safe places in the Likud list and undeserved cabinet positions in his next government. That's why he had the Likud bylaws amended to give him a large amount of "safe seats" to choose according to his will, rather than the Likud primaries

The Undecided Panel will be meeting soon. You can hear our last discussion here.

Gaza War Musings #77: Victory From Bibi's Likud? Reminds Me of an Old Joke

Bibi has been Prime Minister for most of the past twenty years. We've had constant wars/battles/attacks. Victory isn't on the menu with him in charge. He's not going to change. Same bombastic speeches, but he doesn't fight to win the war.

Since Bibi has been Prime Minister, possibly even before, we've been fighting the same long, very endless war. Every year or two our Arab terrorist "neighbors" have started missile attacks. Sometimes the targets are mostly southern Israel, sometimes northern, sometimes close to our main International Ben-Gurion Airport and sometimes a combination of the above. After we "hit back a bit," Bibi state some version of:

"Now we showed them. Now we'll have quiet."

We never hear a word of surrender from our enemies, not even a whisper of it. Things just quiet down... until the next time and the time after. It happened so many times that I'm not the only one who lost count years ago. Then on October 7, 2023, Shabbat Simchat Torah-- a Jewish Holiday, almost three years ago, our terrorist, enemy neighbors raised the level of attack tremendously murdering over a thousand innocent unsuspecting Israelis, and the IDF was caught not just flatfooted but with its pants down. Reservists and brave volunteers arrived at the attack sites more quickly than army units.

And now, according to Israeli Law, we're supposed to have new elections. Bibi and the Likud, the coalition members and defense establishment have never taken responsibility for their massive mistakes. The Likud, still led by Netanyahu is in campaign mode, and IDF leaders of the past decade are also running for office, totally ignoring their responsibilities for our military and security disaster. Likud MKs are now traveling around the country billing themselves as LIKUD VICTORY FORUM trying to convince the Likud faithful that they'll bring "victory."

There's an old "saying," which is has a lot of truth in it.

"What's the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results."

If Bibi had been capable of winning, true absolute victory, he would have defeated all of our enemies early in his time as Prime Minister, and we wouldn't have been attacked on Oct 7, 2023. Voting for Likud and his "poodles" will just bring us more war.

The Likud is going to suffer in the ballot box because of the continued war and its sell-out to the chareidim who mostly refuse to serve in the army. The two "national religious" parties, not to be confused with the National Religious Party NRP which no longer exists, have to decide between loyalty to the coalition and trying to attract those who are disgusted with Bibi's inability to fight to victory and his embarrassing Trump-worshipping.

And if you're wondering whom I'm supporting... I'm still undecided.

By the way, the opposition doesn't even talk victory... What do you think?

War Musings #74: Only Our TOTAL VICTORY and ISRAELI SOVEREIGNTY Will Bring Us Peace

Shiloh Cemetery, Yom Zikaron 2026 תשפ"ז
#במותםציוולנוניצחון
Their Deaths Command Us to Be VICTORIOUS

The first time I stood in an Israeli cemetery to bury a friend killed by Arabs was in 1973, Yom Kippur War. Our Betar friends from New York lost two members in that war, one in the very early days and a second after the ceasefire... Hmmm maybe that's one of the reasons I'm so cynical about ceasefires...

In the more than half a century since we made aliyah, I've been in many cemeteries, many funerals and memorial gatherings. Some of the dead were victims of Arab terror or Arab soldiers, while others died from accidents, illness or old age.

There isn't much you can do to prevent illness and old age... they're a natural part of living. Most accidents can probably be prevented, but the babies, children, young mothers and brave soldiers who've been murdered-- victims of Arab terror and cruelty-- and I stress the word MURDERED. In recent years, especially since the horrendously cruel, perverse murderous attack on innocent Israelis of all religions and levels of religious observance, plus some unfortunate guests on October 7, 2023 most of the world, diplomats, media, academics, celebrities and ordinary people have been cheering on and supporting the aggressors--the terrorists and condemning the victims, their families, international Jewry and the State of Israel. This is worse than when Nazis attempted to murder all the Jews (and others they had considered "undesirables") in Europe.

This may confuse some people... It takes more than a military victory to create peace. That's what Israel showed after the totally miraculous military victory in 1967, The Six Day War. We won the military part of the war, but we lost the peace by not acting as victors, by not taking advantage of the power and gifts that Gd gave us.

On paper, according to the amount of arms, soldiers, tanks, allies etc. there was absolutely no way that Israel could win in the spring of 1967. Egypt's Abdel Nasser had been leading the verbal charge of threats:

"We'll throw Israel into the sea!"

Syria had been attacking the small agricultural communities and towns in northern Israel from day one of its short nineteen 19 year existance. During Israel's War for Independence Jordan swept westward occupying what the United Nations had planned as a third country, a second Arab state in the Palestine Mandate, leaving Israel with a zigzagging border that defied topography, logic for something defensible. Yes, they, too, or should I say "three" periodically attacked the struggling State of Israel.

I remember those weeks of threats against Israel very well. They corresponded with my final weeks of high school before graduation. One thing that stood out and I can't forget. Israel had no real allies. Its faux friends sat tsktsking, twiddling their thumbs, quietly expecting Israel's defeat and not wanting to get hurt or find themselves on the "bad side" of the Arabs. In a sense it was a replay of our War for Independence which took place just a few months after the United Nations vote approving statehood. It has always been clear to me that most of the countries that voted in favor of a Jewish State did it only because they expected the Arabs to defeat the Zionists. By voting "yes," they could claim to be kind to the Jews after the Holocaust. Post World War Two it was bad form to be obviously antisemitic. Please remember that the Allies fought Nazi Germany to save/rescue European countries, not to save Jewish lives.

Back to 1967...  Timing's everything in war. With Gd's help, Israel moved first and destroyed enough enemy aircraft to cripple the enemy. Within just six, yes, 6 days, the Arab countries which had threatened Israel and then attacked it all surrendered. After that Israel squandered the victory in a dangerously woke policy. If offered "land for peace." Very little of the Holy Land liberated in the war became part of Israel. If I'm not mistaken, the only area that was transferred to Israeli sovereignty was sections of Jerusalem, the Old City and other areas, which had been Jewish owned before the establishment of the state, like Neve Yaakov, Mount Scopus. In addition the borders were "rounded out" to make the city more viable.

The Golan Heights were quickly populated with agricultural communities to protect the Jewish kibbutzim and moshavim which had been attacked by Syria before the war. More agricultural communities were established in the Jordan Valley and northern Sinai, because Agrexco wanted to take advantage of their warm climate grow summer fruit for export in the winter. Our ancient Biblical cities, even those which had a long history, even in the 20th century, of Jewish Life were totally ignored. The anti-religious secular leaders had no feeling for Biblical connections and assumed that the Arabs would be willing to trade "land for peace," as I mentioned before.

The great victory of 1967 was sabotaged by the secular Left ruling Israel, and we're still suffering from this terrible policy. The Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria were established despite government policy, against the will of the government, even the Likud. When Netanyahu announces "new Jewish communities," he's distorting the facts. The truth is that he's offering to finally recognize a few communities which have existed for years, sometimes even decades.

There are two things that must come as a package to bring us true peace. They are TOTAL VICTORY and ISRAELI SOVEREIGNTY over all Judea, Samaria, the Jordan Valley and Gaza, too. So many of our soldiers died to clear it of terror, and also many innocent civilians. Emptying it of Jews did not give peace. We must settle our Holy Land, act not only as victors, but even more so as the true owners, Gd willing.

War Musings #73 The Con of Ceasefire or The Calm Before The Storm

In most of Israel, there has been quiet since the U.S. brokered "ceasefire" with the terror state Iran. Schools and stores have reopened, public transportation has returned to its previous schedules, neighborhood shelters are getting cleared and cleaned... but behind the scenes there's a different conversation.

Remember that a ceasefire leaves both sides viable. The weaker or "evil" one may be "damaged," but it's not dead. It can and usually will rise up again, sometimes much stronger than ever. It's not a victory/defeat. It's a postponement of the inevitable, especially when one of the parties swears/promises/aims to destroy the other one, politicians, military and innocent civilians.

In conversations between friends, I keep hearing:

"We just have a few days, since the war will resume..."

The following is what I written in my nightly "Gnite" post on Facebook. What do you think? Please reply in the comments, and share if you agree, thanks.

Gnite... confusing, frightening times. The Bibi government is trying to fool the people, saying "back to regular life, schools as usual, public transportation on regular schedule... no war..." But there isn't peace. Israelis in the north of the country are being attacked. Our enemies are obviously re-arming and planning their next attacks... but in Israel people have been told to take their mattresses out of the shelters, so activities can return. My mosaics class takes place in a neighborhood shelter, which is officially the senior citizen club house, or moadon as it's called in Hebrew. Today we discovered that some of our tables are missing, and luckily we lock up the equipment we use...
Iran doesn't want peace, and no "deal" will change its mind. Did the Allies make a "deal" with Hitler? Trump doesn't understand the mentality of war and terrorism. He's a businessman, not a historian-military man. The only American politicians worse are the Democrats. And here in Israel... we have we have weak bombastic Bibi. Similar to the situation in the states, the only politicians who are worse are in the opposition. It's time for some brave intelligent people to stand up and tell the truth. We've had almost annual wars since Bibi became Prime Minister. Each time, they quiet down and Bibi says: "They'll never try that again. We showed them... " but they do attack again and again and again... That last major attack on October 7, 2023 was a doozy for sure. Pictures and the terrorists' own selfies showed that they are civilians, the same faux "innocent civilians" that Bibi warns to leave their houses, so he can waste our bullets. Bibi calls them "innocent civilians," but they're the ones who raped and murdered our people, our truly innocent people two and a half years ago.
OK, I had to vent... Bedtime, so Gd willing a better tomorrow.

Hamas/Gaza War Musings #67: The War's Not Over- How Many More Israelis Will Be Killed?

Sorry, but I can't join in with the celebrations concerning the return of our hostages, dead and alive. Of course I'm glad that the last body to date has been recovered in Gaza and brought to a dignified Israeli Jewish burial, but remember that it was the State of Israel that found St.-Sgt.-Maj. Ran Gvili. He wasn't returned by Hamas, which was the "deal."

In addition, Amir Zini has revealed that not all of his son Nirel was in the coffin. Davka, his head is still missing. If you remember, many of those murdered by Hamas suffered brutal dismemberment, when still alive and after death. It's probable that other bodies aren't whole either.

The State of Israel wasn't victorious, not at all. True we won many battles, but unfortunately we turned it into defeat. The Jewish People has a long history connected to Gaza, living in it and more. The obvious move of victors who have such a history/connection would be to resettle the land. Many soldiers and civilians naively expected to return to Gaza, and signs were seen saying "Return to Gush Katif," but the government had them taken down.

In addition, even worse, our hapless Prime Minister, Binyamin Bibi Netanyahu, has accepted American President Donald Trump's deals and plans for Gaza. It's very obvious that Bibi is not a true leader; he's a weak follower. Yes, Binyamin Bibi Netanyahu has relinquished sovereignty over crucial security decisions to Trump, and businessman Trump isn't an expert in security and terrorism. Even the top military people in the states have no real experience with the Israeli security situation. Israel, unlike the USA, is a tiny country surrounded by enemies who've shown the world that their expertise is perverse, murderous violence and cruelty. I'm not exaggerating; remember how they attacked us October 7, 2023, rape, beheading, burning etc.

At present, there's a weak ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, Hizbolla plus the other terrorist groups. I have no doubt that they're doing their usual, rearming plus. The next war, possibly only after Trump's final term, will be much, much worse for Israel than this last attack. Think of how weeds sprout after a mowing, versus when you pull them out by their roots. No country wants Gazans. They're not going anyplace. Countries that have accepted them in the past are sorry, because of the violence and crime they've brought with them to their new countries.

Yishai Fleischer explains things well. I agree with what he says here.

Hamas/Gaza War Musings #66: Why Do Likud MKs and Voters Still Have Faith in Bibi?

Gaza: Must SURRENDER NOW
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results...
    source unknown, not Albert Einstein

Maybe I've blogged this before, I've certainly said to friends. Expecting a victory, a total absolute VICTORY, over our enemies with Binyamin Bibi Netanyahu at the wheel aka Prime Minister, isn't going to happen.

Please read carefully. I wrote VICTORY, not ceasefire. An absolute total victory requires that the enemy SURRENDERS. They raise their empty hands and offer to do anything so we stop fighting. They must fear us.

Netanyahu is very proud to say that he's the longest serving Prime Minister of Israel, but another record of his he ignores. Israel has been attacked more times under his rule than under anyone else... and it's not because he has ruled so long. Every couple of years we're attacked. I call it target practice, because I see it as preparation for a much bigger war, Gd forbid. Honestly, I hope that I'm wrong, but facts are proving me right.

These attacks don't end with the terrorist/enemy surrendering. We just "wear them down" until they're willing to stop... until the next time. That's not anything like peace or victory. That doesn't increase Israel's security; it just increases the dangers. Gd has been very generous in protecting civilians, because the attacks could easily cause lots more dead and injured Israelis.

The "October 7th War" had been planned as a two front war, but luckily Hezbollah saw that the north would be more challenging than the south. Hamas had an easy time against Israel's southern communities for two main reasons. First of all they had a great espionage system on that front. Gazans worked in many homes and communities. They not only knew who had weapons; they knew where they were kept. Also they knew that there were communities that so believed that Gazans were their friends, they didn't even have a weaponized self-defense group. Gazans wandered freely around southern Israel and knew even better than most Israelis that the IDF wasn't present in sufficient numbers and force to defend Israeli civilians.

Now, who was responsible for this situation? Follow the ladder of responsibility and policy. As the late US President Harry Truman used to say:

THE BUCK STOPS HERE

Whoever is the top government official, President or Prime Minister, is the one who must take full responsibility for foul-ups. In Israel, October, 2023, that would be Prime Minister Binyamin Bibi Netanyahu.

Bibi hasn't governed with strong viable defense policy, one that will give us total absolute peace, not shaky ceasefires. Even when he sends the IDF to attack the enemy, he insists on warning the enemy, so all we do is bomb empty buildings. Yes, he claims he's only warning innocent sic civilians, but there were civilian who attacked, raped, murdered, incinerated Israelis October 7, 2023. And they were Gazan civilians who cheered them on and praised what they did to Israelis, foreign workers, guests and even some Israeli Arabs.

When speaking at the UN and American Congress, Netanyahu proudly bragged about his moral way of conducting a war... duh? Our enemy thinks we are weak jokes because of him. They aren't afraid. They're just planning the next war. I'm a realist, a pragmatist.

Why do people keep voting Likud with Bibi at the helm? And why are Likud MKs and hopefuls afraid to oppose him? We're not going to have a victory, peace and security with Bibi at the helm

Hamas/Gaza War Musings #64: Nu? Where's The Victory? Has It Flown Away?

I had used this photo for the 52frames Fluid album.

At the time of the terrible surprise attack on October 7, 2023, all the murders, perversions, kidnappings done to innocent Israelis, visitors and foreign workers, Israel was totally unprepared, militarily and emotionally. That must be especially said of many of the victims and southern communities, who had been proudly in the "peace camp," believing that their kindness and generosity to local Arabs, especially including Gazans, trying to prove that we had nothing to fear from those Arabs. What a shock to them when many of those very Arabs came proudly as Hamas terrorists, joining enthusiastically in the murderous terror. Some of the attacked communities didn't even have weapons for self-defense. They didn't think such a thing necessary.

To make matters worse, it took much longer than it should have for the IDF to get its act together and begin the difficult defensive war for Israel's very survival. Israel's leaders, too, have been hypnotized/brainwashed by the misconception that we weren't in danger from the south, from Gaza. I have my theories on why that happened, but it's not for now.

Since Hamas began the war against Israel on October 7, 2023, over a thousand IDF soldiers and police have been killed, besides the approximately 1,200 murdered by Hamas Gazans in the various attacks/pogroms/massacres on that first black day.

Within a few months, miraculously for sure, it looked like we were on the way to an amazing victory, but then... things changed, and instead of being strong confident victors Prime Minister Binyamin Bibi Netanyahu began looking rather pathetic trying to get approval and praise from foreign leaders who had been growing more critical and demanding with every concession he made.

While groups of Israelis organized returns to their former homes in Gaza, Bibi pledged in the United Nations and the United States Congress that we had no plans of settling in Gaza. To show his seriousness, every few months he'd destroy Jewish communities in Judea/Samaria. If someone counted all the Jewish homes he has destroyed in his close to twenty years as Prime Minister, it probably rivals those Menachem Begin and Arik Sharon destroyed. Yes, in case you're wondering, all were elected on the Likud slate as Prime Minister. It makes you wonder; doesn't it?

And how has been going for Israel militarily? At one point it was looking good, but instead of fighting to victory, Bibi did his usual... nothing. Simply put, negotiation isn't his strong point. Bibi specializes in hypnotizing oratory.

After almost twenty years as Prime Minister, too many Israelis can't imagine anyone else in the role. Yes, even those who agree that the situation is terrible, and that Israel has made many mistakes are terrified of losing Netanyahu. I just don't understand them. We've all heard:

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

Do they really think that continuing with the same leader will improve things? I also like to remind people of what US President Harry Truman liked to say:

The Buck Stops Here!

Bibi can only blame himself, and we Israelis -Right, Left and Center- must admit that for us to see a true, total VICTORY, which we need for our very survival, we need new leadership, from top to bottom, from Right to Left and Left to Right. The Opposition is no more competent than the Government. They haven't proposed anything that will help. They just want to destroy Netanyahu. I wish they'd use their power and enthusiasm against Hamas, against our enemies. They are worse than the Likud. They haven't proposed VICTORY any more frequently than Bibi.

You're probably asking whom do I propose can take over... for that please wait, though you're welcome to propose people in the comments.

Hamas/Gaza War Musings #60: "Peace Plan"? You Must Be Joking!

Simply put: Prepare more cemeteries. Yes, I see things, political and security decisions in black and white. And I look at the big picture, too.

Does this "deal" promote long term Israeli security? NO!

There's lots of wishful thinking, with a big popular distraction. I'm sure you can guess what the distraction is, sort of like coating poison with your favorite ice cream... That's the return of all the hostages live and dead.

Of course the chances are that the dead ones won't be well-preserved bodies. There will be bones, body-parts of humans -hostages and Gazans- mixed with animals. It will take months at best to identify them. I'm not kidding. The scientific experts who had worked so hard on identifying those murdered on Simchat Torah, aka October 7th, two years ago, whose body parts were left in situ, are probably gathering their white coats and equipment to start all over again. I wouldn't be surprised if they find some "parts" of the victims they identified previously mixed in with the holy mess Hamas is preparing for us.

I hate to be a killjoy, but I'm a realist, a pragmatist. As much as I wish I could be hypnotized to discover what my maternal grandfather spoke to me about when I was a three year old, before he passed away, I doubt that hypnosis would work on me.

I see so many holes in this deal/plan that it's more like a window with a thin modernistic frame.

Israel/Bibi shouldn't have accepted it before Hamas, the Gazan terrorists had agreed to give up their arms. Bibi doesn't know how to negotiate; he's too concerned about being liked. And he doesn't understand that the smiles he's getting are mocking not admiring. Trump played him...

Gd willing the hostages will really be released and not held while the terrorists demand more Israeli concessions.

I pray that somehow Bibi Netanyahu will be out of politics in all ways, along with his devoted followers. We need true, brave, sovereign Israeli leadership, a government that takes Israel's needs first as a country. Gd willing....

Honestly, until I see all of our hostages home, I can't be joyful, I can't believe it possible/probable.

But one thing for sure, this isn't the end of the war... Of course, you can and should pray that I'm mistaken...

Hamas/Gaza War Musings #59: Commemorate According to Jewish Calendar, Simchat Torah, Not October 7th

Jewish Calendar, this year, the one that just began on Rosh Hashannah 5786

I follow the Jewish Calendar*. We were brutally and viciously attacked on Simchat Torah, 5784 two years ago, which fell on the 7th of October, 2023.

We must respect and follow our calendar; it's an extremely important part of Judaism. It davka shows/proves our permanent and indisputable connection to the Land of Israel. It gets adjusted to coincide with the seasons of the Land by adding days and months.

That's the exact opposite of the nomadic Muslim calendar in which holidays wander among all the seasons, proving that they have no connection to land. The Muslim calendar is strictly lunar and always only twelve months. That doesn't jive with the solar calendar; it's short a few days, which adds up. It also means that their year number is inaccurate. Their year has fewer days, so every few years, they've added a year. Also if they count ages by their calendar, people are younger than they claim to be. Just think... you don't need to be a mathematician.

While I'm talking about calendars, did you notice that the Jewish one and the Christian one are up to different years? 5786 vs 2025... Yes, Judaism is a lot older than Christianity. And Islam only began in the 7th century, 610. Judaism is much older than both. Neither religion is a contemporary of Judaism, so Abraham, Isaac and Jacob weren't at all involved in those two religions. Those two religions adopted/stole Jewish History; call it identity theft... More food for thought.

*This link is really clear about how the Jewish Calendar gets adjusted to stay connected to seasons, the solar calendar and make sure certain holidays don't end up on certain days of the week.

Hamas/Gaza War Musings #55: Who's Whitewashing Gazan Civilian Attack of October 7, 2023?

What really happened on October 7, 2023?

On October 7, 2023 and for awhile afterwards there were lots of photos, videos/YouTubes and reports of Gazan civilians-- even those considered friends and had been employed by Israelis who unabashedly, enthusiastically guided the Hamas terrorists and joined in attacking, their naïve Israeli friends. These Gazan civilians knew their way around the kibbutzim and knew their victims. These terrorists, who didn't wear uniforms, proudly took pictures and videos of their cruel acts, sending them off to their families and the wider world via the internet. Some stole phones of the victims  and got perverse pleasure showing their "victories" to their victims' families and friends.

Strangely the articles I read about this in October, 2023 can't be found online. At least I couldn't find any, nor did anyone I asked on Facebook. One friend said that she had saved the links of the articles, but the links are as dead as the victims...

In my searches I found the report that the Israeli Government has on its site. That's what I screenshot above. Even Bibi's government is masking the true story. They give the impression that Israel was invaded by uniformed soldier terrorists, not a ragtag group of Gazans of all ages, uniformed and not. I guess the government wants to hide the fact that the IDF and civil defense were defeated by amateurs. Volunteers came from all over the country to defend the innocent Israeli citizens, from infants to the elderly, while the army waited for orders and transportation.

The cruelty of the Gazans was worse than what the Nazis had done. Nazis had herded Jews of all ages into buildings, and then gassed them dead. They didn't butcher, decapitate the Jewish victims like the Gazans, read this

Now I can't find the articles. I asked on Facebook, and even people who had saved links, say that the links no longer function. Why has this happened? Why protect Gazans? Is this a conspiracy to rewrite history and invent the Myth of "Innocent Gazan Civilians?" If you have functioning links, please add them in the comments.

While hostages, Israeli citizens, still rot and starve, some alive and some long dead, as prisoners in Gaza, Bibi keeps sending food to Gaza. The Gazans don't need our food or any other aid. It's an agricultural area; they can grow what they need. They don't need medical supplies, when there are over two dozen hospitals there. It doesn't make us look moral or magnanimous; it makes us look guilty and foolish. The same must be said for Bibi's fokokt woke "moral" fighting. He warns Gazans to leave their homes before we bomb them. Duh!?! These are the terrorists and their supporters who've been cheering the deaths of our precious soldiers and the victims on October 7th. Coddling the enemy won't give us victory, and a "deal" won't give us peace.

Only a TOTAL VICTORY and resettling Gaza with Israelis will give us peace.

Hamas/Gaza War Musings #54: VICTORY NOW! Bibi, Stop Your Games!

This is what I wrote last night. Maybe it's not polished enough, but it's the truth.

Gnite

Sometimes being too smart isn't smart at all. No doubt Bibi Netanyahu can memorize things better than me. He's a great orator with an impressive voice and can charm people. No doubt that his IQ is phenomenal. I'm not any of that, but I see the bottom line and the big picture.

It's clear that as Prime Minister Bibi hasn't a clue as to what it means to win this war for our very survival. Clever daring things like the beeper attack or assassinations of terror leaders don't make for a victory. It's like putting a few chocolate chips on a cake and calling it icing.

The fokokt woke warnings before bombing, feeding the enemy and other ridiculous "humanitarian" #$%#$ just make us look guiltier and utterly idiotic. That's besides wasting our weapons on empty buildings and making us into laughing stocks. Gaza Arab terrorists have started about a dozen wars since Bibi became PM. Just because he refuses to call them wars, doesn't mean they aren't. Or simply say that this one has been going on since Disengagement and has only gotten worse since Bibi took over. Not only haven't we destroyed the enemy, gotten them to surrender, but they've gotten progressively stronger and more confident. Our idiotic generals, who've been sent to "war college" in the USA failed in real life. They totally misread the signs before October 7, 2023 and chastised the young female observers who insisted that the Arabs were planning an attack. Bibi's responsible as Prime Minister along with all the IDF's upper echelons. I'm a pragmatist. Look at the facts, not theories nor dreams.

Gd willing a better tomorrow.

Hamas/Gaza War Musings #50: Deja Vu, Yet Again-- Will Israel Ever Learn?

This post is based on my last night's "Gnite" on Facebook. That's a message I write most nights before going to sleep. Sometimes I haven't a clue what my fingers are going to type out, and sometimes I find myself elaborating on what has been filling my head, generally something to do with the WAR.

I think it's extremely important to remember that Israel's WAR FOR SURVIVAL has a number of fronts. From what I understand, the northern front is now quiet. But what does that mean? Did our enemies surrender?

Just a few weeks ago Israel decided that the time had come to try to destroy Iran's nuclear development, which seemed impossible, since we don't have strong enough bombs to go deeply enough. Also Iran immediately began bombing Israeli cities, and our Iron Dome and other defensive "machinery" only partially prevented destruction and death in Israeli cities. After the USA completed the bombing of Iran's nuclear development center, utilizing the damage that Israel had accomplished. This front also quieted down without anything that could be called a surrender by Iran.

Now Israel has returned to fighting in Gaza, Deja Vu.

Early in the war, I'd read in the newspapers and internet interviews with IDF reservists on the southern front who'd say it's the second, third or fourth time ... or more, they've battled and taken over the same sections of Gaza. After each of the previous wars, Bibi who was usually (or always) Prime Minister at the time, would declare that we "won," and the Gazans/Hamas/or whatever you want to call them had been stopped and "know that we're stronger." Then we'd leave, the terrorists would return and within a year or two or three, they'd attack us yet again.

Of course 20 years ago, when Arik Sharon ordered Disengagement, we were told that if the Arabs dared to attack us ... we'd be back. Obviously that was a very empty threat.

In the past twenty years, since the Israeli Government destroyed Gush Katif and turned thousands of hardworking Israelis into refugees, destroyed homes and successful businesses, we've been attacked, bombed, suffered rocket attacks and then the perverse, violent, murderous massacre and kidnapping on October 7, 2023. Arik's Disengagement failed completely.

How many wars and how many dead Israelis will it take for Bibi to get/comprehend the message? We need a TOTAL VICTORY. The enemy must surrender. It's suicidal to make a "deal" with those terrorists. And he's not even demanding that every single solitary hostage alive and dead be returned before he'd even "talk." Bibi Netanyahu doesn't know how to negotiate. He just surrenders.

I know that this may sound "cruel," but someone ought to tell the yellow "bring them out at any cost" crowd two simple things:
1- their campaign is showing the terrorists how to break us. Just kidnap Israelis and Israel will fold.
2- Bibi and the IDF aren't holding the hostages. They should have focused their demonstrations on the Red Cross, who've never even visited the hostages.

There won't be peace until we fight to win, to destroy the enemy and to do this we must stop the woke "humanitarian aid" and the ridiculous counterproductive "warnings" which undermine the effectiveness of our fighting and endangers our precious soldiers.

OK, I said it. I could say more... maybe next week. Gd willing...

Hamas/Gaza War Musings #44: Nothing's New, All in The Bible

Biblical Shiloh

This starts with one of my "Gnites" on facebook, but then I continue with more details and history.

As happy as I am that Donald Trump won the election and is now POTUS again, Israel must not depend on him. We are supposed to be an independent sovereign country.

Trump's policies vis-à-vis Israel are better than any of his predecessors, but he's not our ruler, and one can't count on all of his policies and ideas to be good for us.

The Israeli Prime Minister must act as a strong leader and not a weak follower. Unfortunately, Bibi is a very weak PM who tries to be "moderate" aka "centrist," which is what he said he would be when I heard him in 2008, "Shiloh Musings Impressive."

After hearing that speech I pictured Bibi as being held immobile by a bagel. Unfortunately, he has proven me correct.

Prime Minister Netanyahu is a talented orator and actor, but he doesn't have the guts to lead us into victory. He's too busy trying to ingratiate himself with those who really don't care about Israel's survival. That's why he brags about his dangerous "morality," warning the enemy, so no alleged innocent civilians would be killed.

The attack on October 7, 2023 proved that there aren't innocent Gazans. The Gazans that many Israelis in the south had considered as friends were those who enthusiastically showed their true colors as Hamas terrorists, murdering, raping, mutilated, incineration truly innocent, and in many cases, naïve Israelis.

There's only one way that the State of Israel can survive and thrive would be to act as a truly proud sovereign nation and recognize that we have only one reliable ally, Gd Almighty. With that, we must fight to win, resettle Gaza and expand Israeli sovereignty in Judea, Samaria, the Jordan Valley and the rest of the State of Israel.

Remember that Zionism means the return to our well documented native Homeland. We've liberated it. It was conquered by Biblical heroes like Joshua. Please be careful of your vocabulary. Words have power.

Hamas/Gaza War Musings #40: USA Faux Friend

The following is from my Facebook "Gnite" posts. Before I go to bed, I let loose on Facebook whatever is really bothering me. Generally these posts aren't at all planned; they just flow.

I'd appreciate if you'd read, comment and share, thanks.

I'm an old lady, past retirement age. I've been following politics and history since I was a child in New York. My life decisions aren't the standard and not as I was raised. I'm a Torah Observant Jew since my teens, thanks to what I learned and experienced in NCSY and made aliyah (moved to Israel,) with my husband since just after our 1970 wedding. That's my background in a nutshell.

Please read, thanks...

Gnite
What's going to happen 12 noon on Shabbat? Jerusalem time or Washington DC? Not clear to me...
Hamas isn't afraid of Bibi. That's for sure. It has been revealed that Gazans were readying for a surrender over a year ago, but then Bibi followed Biden's orders and began feeding the Gazans... so we lost.
Bibi is more American than I am.
I feel no loyalty, nor do I have any trust in the USA. The American State Department, Defense Department etc don't know what's best for Israel and have never cared about our survival. Way back when, during Harry Truman's presidency, he was told by the State Department not to vote "yes" in the infant United Nations for a Jewish State. Truman defied them.
Two decades later, when Egypt was threatening to destroy Israel with the help of their allies, Syria and Jordan. The USA was quiet.
Six years later they knew all about Egypt's plan to attack Israel and refused to warn Israel. Read Deceit of an Ally by Bruce Brill.
Almost a half a century later, deja vu, Biden was flown to Israel by his handlers to force Bibi to treat Hamas Gaza with kid gloves, send in "humanitarian aid" and continue with the farcical fokokt "moral" waste of our weapons to protect "innocent" Gazans civilians. Of course this totally ignores the fact that Gazan civilians are terrorists and invaded, murdered Gazans civilians, raped, decapitated, incinerated truly innocent Israelis on October 7, 2023. And the Americans quickly announced that their plan for "after" was to establish a Palestinian State. Their timing is very suspicious... It takes years for the State Department to plan things... right? So, the chances are... the attack wasn't a surprise for the Americans...
If my blog and FB posts had been more popular, I'd be one of those targeted... What do you think?
Food for thought...
Past my bedtime. Gd willing see you tomorrow.

Elul and the Truth About this War, Guest Post by Netivot Girl

It is Elul. For religious Jews this is a time for contemplation and trying to better ourselves. I made Aliya in 1977 and have never regretted that decision. Friends from abroad ask me if I feel safe. Well, given the rampant anti-Semitism against Jews the world over, I can honestly say yes. However, there are so many things that trouble me. I am incredibly disappointed that many of our politicians and IDF heads have refused to take upon themselves responsibility for the massacre of October 7th. It galls me that our Chief of Staff Herzl Ha'Levi not only has refused to do so; he is continuing to promote his buddies to important IDF posts.

It is unforgivable that the UN and many nations have labeled us with words that FB won't allow me to post!! Where were their voices when many hundreds of our women were gang-raped? The 'Me Too Movement' is for every woman who is not Israeli or Jewish? The barbarians who raped our women had their friends photograph them on their phones. The same with the burning of babies in their cribs; where was the outcry? The perpetrators of these barbaric actions used their phones to document their actions. Yes, the war goes on. But it could have ended months ago had Hamas fighters laid down their arms and returned our hostages. I believe that the hypocrisy of the world is sickening. The UN has yet to denounce Hamas' horrific behavior. The Red Cross never went to investigate the conditions of our hostages, very few of whom are still alive IMHO. Has the world lost its moral compass? I believe it has indeed. Colonel Richard Kemp was a commander of British troops in Afghanistan; he has repeatedly commented that our IDF (Israel Defense Forces) is the most moral army in the world. Sadly, we have lost far too many of our IDF personnel because of that. Our troops have dropped leaflets and even phoned Gazans recommending that they leave any area that will be bombed in the near future. Unlike the USA, we do NOT carpet bomb. If Israel is conducting genocide, then how is it that the number of Gazans has greatly risen during the past few years????

Many thousands of my fellow Israelis have been living in hotels for many months as Hezbollah continues to destroy homes, farmland and other buildings up north. Where is the outcry? We are America's most important ally in the Middle East. Many Muslim Arabs are policemen and even sit in our Knesset. We are NOT an apartheid state; you can see women wearing veils in nearby Beer Sheva; I see them all the time. Moreover many Arabs sit as judges in our courts. Samer Haj Yehia was named the chairman of the board of directors of Bank Leumi, one of Israel's largest banks in 2019. Unlike every single Arab country in our area, gays are allowed to be open about their sexual orientation. In fact, the Speaker of our Knesset is gay; married and has a few children. (He is among the very few Likud politicians for whom I still hold respect.) Douglas Murray is an author of many bestselling books. HE has been in Gaza numerous times during the years. A British gay non-Jew, he remains one of Israel's staunchest defenders. He 'gets it;' he knows what's going on. He visited the site where volunteers spent MONTHS using DNA and other information to discover the identity of the thousands of bodies that were left to rot.

So, if you are Jewish, please be a proud Jew. Stand up against the numerous anti-Israel protests. And most importantly, check the facts before you attack us verbally or otherwise. May He above have mercy on us in our tiny country. I write this as a resident of Netivot which has been rocketed by Hamas since Israel pulled out all of its citizens from Gaza in 2005. We left millions of dollars worth of agricultural equipment which could have aided Gaza's Muslim population turn that strip of land into a modern-day Singapore. Instead, those idiots burned all of that equipment down! Gaza WAS a free entity from 2005 until the October 7th massacre of 2023. Do I expect anyone to change their opinions because of this post? No I do not; anti-Zionism is the newest nomenclature for anti-Semitism. You are either with us or against us. To my fellow Israelis I say, "Stand tough and be unified." To other people I say, when we said the words, "Never Again" we sure as he*l meant them!! Stay safe and please feel free to share this post.

The Political Me and Bibi's Congress Speech

Some of my favorite "buttons" from the past

I don't like it when people think they can label me or presume they know my opinions. I'm not that easy to label. I don't take orders from anyone. I make my own decisions. And sometimes my opinions are like no one else's.

Here's something I wrote recently on facebook.

I have never been loyal to a particular political party in any country. I look only at policies, even more than leaders.
Over the decades I've seen too many politicians and political parties desert principles.
I'm a purist. I don't trust anyone. If something stinks, then it goes... that includes politicians and political parties.
Speeches and oratory aren't policies and facts on the ground. Promises are promises...

I know that not everyone understands this. Too many people say that they only, or have always vote for a particular party; they're loyal to it. They make their decisions, decide their opinions according to party leaders. They trust their party and its leaders. I'm not like that. Sorry.

When I started demonstrating for Soviet Jewry, demanding that the leaders of the USSR release Soviet Jews from their prison-like country. One of the signs we held up showed the number of synagogues that had been in various cities that became part of the Soviet Union in 1917. Those numbers were compared with the number of synagogues in the same cities in 1965. Yes, there were far fewer. The message was very clear. Communism doesn't allow people religious freedom in addition to not allowing them to leave the country.

"Enlightened" sic Americans were still enthralled with the idea of communism and socialism. Not me. I didn't go to the same demonstrations my peers attended "religiously." You could say that I chose a "different religion." My determined observance of Torah Laws certainly separated me from fellow Jewish students. Then I discovered Zionism, the mitzvah, religious requirement, to live in our Holy Land. That's why I live here in the holy city of Shiloh, the same place written about in the Bible, where the Ancient Tabernacle had stood for almost four hundred 400 years.

I go straight to the source and I abhor double-talk, which is a reason I don't trust Prime Minister Binyamin Bibi Netanyahu. I've been listening to him and observing his policies for many years. He has been conning the Israeli public and people all over the world pretending to be a strong Right patriot, but his policies are something else entirely. So are his speeches. The important thing is to listen to the end. I caught onto that many, many years ago.

Netanyahu's recent Congress speech was the same pattern/structure as what I heard in August, 2008. He hypnotizes people in the first part of his speeches, and then when most people are no longer listening to the details he tells the truth. By then most people aren't paying attention to the details; he has captured them. When I heard Bibi at the First International Jewish Bloggers Convention he announced that he'd return to office as Prime Minister as a "centrist." I heard him clearly, but it doesn't seem like others had paid attention.

The first three quarters 3/4 or so of Netanyahu's Congress address was wonderful. Yes, of course, Binyamin Netanyahu is certainly one of the world's greatest orators. He's responsible for his speeches, not hired writers. You can see it clearly when it's off the cuff. His knowledge of world and Jewish history qualifies him to teach in universities like his father had. But that doesn't mean that his policies, especially military/security are what the State of Israel needs.

Soon after Netanyahu voiced the slogan #neveragainisNOW which is one even I use on X, Instagram and Facebook, he took a different turn. He pledged that Israelis wouldn't return to live in Gaza, and from there it went downhill. That was a slap in the face to our brave soldiers who had fought so hard to destroy the terrorists and return to Gush Katif. It's so obvious to many of us that there can never be true peace if we're just policing Gaza and not living there.

After that Bibi sounded like 1960's druggy Leftist when he said that he "envisioned" peaceful Gazans ruling themselves. Duh? There's nothing pragmatic, realistic, intelligent about that...

If that wasn't enough, Netanyahu began bragging about Israel having "the most moral army" ever. Honestly, I don't think it's moral to endanger your own soldiers to protect the enemy. Over twenty years ago, local Shiloh soldier Avihu Keinan, HaY"D was killed in such an army action. Instead of destroying a building, which was believed to be in enemy hands, Avihu was sent in the inspect it, and then he was killed. His father organized various marches and demonstrations against the policy, and I attended and wrote about them. I remember Moshe Keinan asking "Why is Ahmad's life more important than my son's?" That's why I get very upset every time the Prime Minister and other government officials claim this policy is so wonderful, worth bragging about. It's so obvious that the Hamas terrorists will never surrender when we feed them and provide medicines.

I call it suicidal. I'm a realist. And remember that terrorists don't wear uniforms. Photos publicized by the terrorists of October 7th, show clearly that CIVILIANS of ALL AGES were the rapists, murderers and arsonists. So why are we protecting Gazans as if they hadn't been involved? There's that famous recording of a phone call between a young Gazan terrorist and his parents bragging about murdering ten Israelis. His parents praised him.

Why is Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu bragging to the world about protecting, feeding and and sending medical care to terrorists?

Think about it...
