Check the Tsippi-Condi Deal

Here's excerpts the transcript of the announcement of Tsippi's deal with Condi to stop the fighting, before we've finished the job of defeating the terrorists and destroying their weapons:

Rice:
We’ve said repeatedly that the continued supply of armaments to Hamas and other terrorist groups in Gaza, including by some in the region, is a direct cause of the current hostilities. It is, therefore, incumbent upon on us in the international community to prevent the rearmament of Hamas so that a ceasefire will be durable and fully respected. There must be an international consensus that Gaza can never again be used as a launching pad against Israeli cities.
This Memorandum of Understanding that we will sign today responds to that need. It provides a series of steps that the United States and Israel will take to stem the flow of weapons and explosives into Gaza. The United States is reaching out to its partners, as well. And together, the steps that we and other members of the international community can take will contribute to a durable ceasefire.
The United States remains deeply concerned, too, about the innocent Palestinians who are suffering in Gaza. A sustainable end to hostilities, rather than one that collapses in a few days or weeks, is crucial to ending the suffering. In the meantime, we are doing all that we can to respond to the humanitarian needs of the population of Gaza.
And Foreign Minister Livni and I have talked about the need to be responsive to the humanitarian organizations that are working there, including the United Nations and the International Committee for the Red Cross, as well as nongovernmental organizations with which we are working through USAID to relieve the suffering of innocent people there.
When this is done, we must all turn again back to the goals of UN Security Council Resolution 1850. That resolution noted that lasting peace can only be based on an enduring commitment to mutual recognition, freedom from violence, incitement, and terror, and the two-state solution, building upon previous agreements and obligations. The United States remains firmly committed to Israel’s security, to continued bilateral negotiations through the Annapolis process, toward a two-state solution, which is the only way, ultimately, to secure a future for Israelis and Palestinians alike over the last term -- long term. The sooner that these hostilities can be brought to an end, the sooner the real work of forging a permanent peace can resume.
President Bush and I have very much enjoyed and valued our work with you, Tzipi, and with the people of Israel, with Prime Minister Olmert, with Defense Minister Barak, and with others. Israel and the United States will and always will – are and always will remain friends. We share values and we share a common desire to see a Middle East that lives in peace and in freedom.

Now, think about these questions and add your own:

  • What concrete steps does it promise us?
  • Are there any guarantees that Israel will be secure?
  • What will happen to the Arabs if they gather more weapons and continue launching missiles at Israel?

Anne Bayefsky, Mistaken, Again

I want to agree with Anne Bayefsky, but I keep having problems with her basic view that "suddenly" there are problems with Europe, the United States etc.

I don't understand how she could write in

"SHAME ON BUSH AND CONDI:"

"...A president whose friendship and alliance with Israel once appeared honest, perceptive and unshakable, decided two weeks before leaving office to throw Israel to the wolves. The resolution calls for a ceasefire in Gaza and does not even mention the word "Hamas..."

Being a cynical pragmatist, I'm a firm believer in the "Yes, Minister" principle that the bureaucrats rule. Bush may make the pretty speeches, but it's pro-Pseudestinian Condeleezza Rice whose policy dominates the United States Department of State, which was never pro-Israel.

I consider Bayefsky's naivete dangerous for the position she holds.

Olmert and Rice!

Is this really something to celebrate?

A bitter anniversary - seven years of Kassams from Gaza

These two things, the headlines and the picture were on the same Jerusalem Post homepage this morning. How the Prime Minister can have the audacity to smile when innocent civilians of his country are being constantly attacked for seven years is totally immoral. And his smiling partner is only concerned with alleviating the "miseries" of those attacking us. Something "stinks" here; that's for sure.

Who Says America is So Smart?

I've been saying for ages that world terrorism will never be stopped until the victims admit that it all starts with the Arabs who are trying to murder me and destroy the State of Israel. They are connected to Bin Laden, of 9-11 infamy.

Instead of recognizing that they're all the same, the world, led by the United States' Bush and Rice, wants to give them another state, at the expense of the State of Israel.

I was happy to see an article in Newsweek online, which at least touches on the American missreading of the situation, even though it doesn't really cut to the quick.

NEWSWEEK: Why did you write this new book?
Michael Scheuer: Because I think our country is in trouble. The enemy we are facing, Osama bin Laden and the movement he heads, is much more dangerous than anyone gives him credit for. Much smarter, much more talented, and now increasingly recruiting a new generation that's better educated, not just in school terms but in operational and especially technological ways. We defeated the swashbucklers. The Errol Flynns of the jihad are gone; they're about to go on trial in Guantánamo. Now we have the gray-suited fellows who are quiet, don't draw attention to themselves, but are tremendously savvy.

Have we underestimated Osama bin Laden?
I think there is tremendous racism in our response to bin Laden. He wears a beard and a robe and lives in a cave. (I doubt that's true, by the way. It's the made-for-Hollywood version.) So we dismiss him. But it is just extraordinary to treat your enemy as an idiot, especially when you are losing two wars to him, and when our director of national intelligence is warning that Al Qaeda is rebuilt, refitted and stronger than ever. To give you an idea of how the United States is actually helping terrorists, nothing is better than seeing the movie, The Siege, which never got the publicity it deserved. And that's not because it's Bruce Willis's worst ever performance.

Most worrying is that Israeli politicians are getting more and more dependent on the Unitied States "experts" who are the very ones Michael Scheuer is ranting against. The truth is that when it comes to understanding Arab terrorism, the United States doesn't know bupkes.

How long will it take for Israel to wake up and understand that Olmert and his American "advisors" are leading us to Hell and destruction?

U.S. Rice and Bush Support Anti-Christians

The U.S.'s Rice and Bush aren't shy about their goal of establishing a sic "Palestinian State." What they don't tell their fellow United States citizens is that their Pseudistinian Arab buddies, those terrorists who unabashedly brag that they will destroy Israel, are also anti-Christian.

Christians are leaving those Arab populated areas in droves.

At 70, Nasser plans to stay in the city. But, like other Christian families that trace their roots to this city for centuries, he has watched family members, like his son and daughter leave the city. "There is no future for Christians," said Nasser.
Reverend Tomey Dahoud also says the pressure is mounting for all Christians to leave Palestinian-controlled lands.
The Arab Moslem terrorists destroy churches.

Besides being shaken down by the Palestinian Authority for blackmail money, and having their land stolen in elaborate schemes from Palestinian Authority officials, some Christians say they have looked on helplessly as they suffered what they call the ultimate injustice: the burning and desecration of their holy churches.

Christians are still reeling from September, 2006, when seven churches in the West Bank and Gaza were attacked in a three day period after Muslims were infuriated by comments made by Pope Benedict XVI about Islam and the prophet Mohammed. The pope's comments followed the publication of cartoons depicting Mohammed in a Dutch newspaper. After the churches were attacked

by Islamic fundamentalists, a Hamas leader, Imad Hamto, called for the Pope to repent and to convert to Islam.
And the world is silent, and Bush and Rice promise the Arab Moslem terrorists a state.

Christians are prevented from worshipping.

Over the past three years, while attention has focused on Israeli and Palestinian casualties of the current war, at least one hundred Christians who live in areas ruled by the Palestinian Authority have been arrested and imprisoned for holding church services or conducting public Christian
practices without authorization.
...
Joseph also described how the US-funded Palestinian public school system has become Islamicized, and how his late nephew was literally tortured to death at age 12 by his schoolmates because he expressed love and respect for his uncle as a practicing Christian.
And the world is silent, and Bush and Rice promise the Arab Moslem terrorists a state.

"They don't respect us," explained Peter, a Greek Orthodox Christian whose family's Bethlehem roots trace back about 2,000 years. "They put on the loudspeakers at that moment to remind people that Islam is the religion of Bethlehem. And it is sad, because now the city of Jesus is the city of Mohammed."

For centuries, Christians were the majority in Bethlehem, but in recent decades the Palestinian Authority - the autonomous political organization run by the PLO - has taken steps to make Muslims the majority. In the early '90s, then-Palestinian President Yasser Arafat expanded the district's boundaries, and included nearby Palestinian refugee camps with large Islamic populations. Arafat also built new Muslim neighborhoods opposite the birthplace of Jesus, and instilled a Muslim governor to oversee the area. He also encouraged the building of new mosques - in 1970, just five existed in Bethlehem; in 1993, 67 existed; by 2005, the number of mosques in Bethlehem had grown to 87.

As the Islamic population has grown in the city, Christians have seen their numbers drop precipitously. According to census reports, the city was half-Christian in 1973; in 1990, just 37 percent of Bethlehem was Christian. Today, just 16 percent of the city is Christian, with different families leaving each week, mostly for the US, Canada and Central America. As the Christian population decreased, Palestinian Muslims have flocked to the city, forming a solid majority. The turning point of Muslim control of the city came in 2006, when seven Islamic fundamentalists - representing Hamas and Islamic Jihad - were elected to the 15 member board. That board - which controls the city - consists of just three Christians.

Christians say a growing Islamic fundamentalism that sees Christianity as a second-rate religion is one of the major reasons for their flight. Long time Christian residents also complain about having to pay blackmail to government-affiliated gangs to keep their land, homes and businesses. Sometimes, even when they pay, land has been taken and people have been violently beaten.

Christians say they can only walk safely in certain sections of the town, and they also avoid the main market which is now Muslim-only. Women are particularly careful to plan their shopping, and complain of daily sexual harassment by Muslim men. Christians also fear for their gold and silver crosses and crucifixes, and say they are frequently ripped from their necks in public.

"We don't have any hope left in this city, our dream is to emigrate," explained George, a Bethlehem Christian attorney. "The choice is to have a gang, and to keep a weapon in every house or to bend our heads, give up our dignity and become sheep." complete article

Bush and Rice have emboldened the Moslem Arab terrorists.

You can judge people by their friends, and Bush and Rice consider those Moslems their friends and support them and want to give them a state, not only at the expense of Israel, also to the detriment of Christians.

Do everything you can to stop them!
