Iran "Deal" Worse Than Munich Agreement

You don't have to take out a magnifying glass to look at the small print to see that it does not stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons and even pays them very generously at the same time.

Opposition to USA-Iran "Deal" Do Not Connect to Israel

I really don't like this Israel connection to the movement that opposes the "deal" the Obama administration made with Iran. Even though I've been in Israel more than two-thirds 2/3's of my life, I don't think that American policy should be based on Israel's needs. I consider Iranian nuclear development to be an international danger and that is what should be stressed. 

The "deal" Kerry and company came up with stinks. It has more holes than cheap lace. Swiss Cheese is much more solid and stable.

I also don't want the discussion/debate to get sullied by the always present antisemitism in the American State Department and White House. We all know that if Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu says that 2 + 2 = 4, Obama will try to prove him wrong.

I find Congressman Alcee L. Hastings's op-ed a relief in that he mentioned neither Israel nor Netanyahu.

After careful review, I have decided that I cannot support this deal.
The goal of the recently concluded negotiations was to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. The negotiators worked diligently, but in the end, the JCPOA allows Iran to remain a nuclear threshold state while simultaneously reaping the benefits of relief from international sanctions. The anti-"Deal" lobby should be on the issues, the details of the "deal" and how effective it would be. It should discuss how a nuclear Iran endangers world peace, and the simple fact that Iran keeps threatening the United States.

It's no secret the United States has an awful record in protecting allies and doesn't have any enemies on its borders, so as an Israeli I don't see it as a country I'd rely on. Honestly, we've done our best in wars that we fought alone, like in the 1967 Six Days War. We must stop groveling for help from the USA, because we don't need it.

As I've written a number of times before, the choice of the word "deal" is a sure sign that it isn't good. A used car salesman makes deals. He convinces the seller that the low price offered is actually high, and he convinces the buyer that the high price is really low. THAT'S A DEAL!

Diplomatic, security agreements aren't the same as quickly selling a four year old "just one minor accident" Ford or Toyota, because you can't afford to hold onto an extra car.

Obama's claiming that the world can trust the word of Iran that they will uphold the conditions of his "deal" is like trusting a used car lot that is known for tampering with the odometer.

Instead of looking at facts, Obama gets personal.

Also take into consideration the experience and training and education of Obama versus Netanyahu. While Barack Hussein Obama spent his pre-political time as a "social organizer," Binyamin Netanyahu was an expert in international terrorism and before that he was in Israeli's most elite military unit. So, whose expertise would you trust?

The deal that United States President Barack Hussein Obama is promoting is as genuine as those cheap knockoff designer bags on sale in street stands and internet sites.

I'd say that the biggest difference between the American scam and the cheap bags is the marketing. Those who sell the copies usually promote their products as "looks like" the original.

Replicas make no bones about the fact that they aren't the super expensive originals, but just as good for all practical purposes.

Obama and Kerry are not as honest.

They and their henchmen are promoting their "deal" as if it was the genuine article. There are just too many holes in their "deal."

It's more like a poorly repainted used car being touted as "just like new." The Obama-Kerry "deal" with Iran will prevent the production of nuclear weapons, just like the dirt and various powders sold by the fake California doctor will cure his patients/customers of cancer.

Nuclear Iran, Not Just Israel's Problem

I think it has been a major tactical mistake for Israel to consider Iran a particularly Israeli problem. And it is of crucial importance for Israel and Israelis to stop thinking that we have any influence on international leaders when it comes to anything, including international policy re: Iran. That's why I think that Yair Lapid sounds like a total idiot (OK, he always sounds like an idiot) when he blames our Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for the fact that Obama and his international lackys came up with a very bad "deal" with Iran.

Lapid said on Saturday that he would make a written request to the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee to establish a commission of inquiry to investigate "Netanyahu's foreign policy failure."  He also called for the would-be commission to make its final report on the matter available to the public.

Considering all the press Israel gets for no reason, we forget that we aren't major players in international policy. The Americans Obama and Kerry had no problem getting the support of their cohorts for the "deal" that obviously won't solve the problem of a nuclear Iran.

That deal doesn’t merely show that the US is unwilling to exact a price from states that illicitly develop nuclear weapons. The US and its allies just concluded a deal that requires them to facilitate Iran’s nuclear efforts.
Not only will the US and its allies remove the sanctions imposed on Iran over the past decade and so start the flow of some $150 billion to the ayatollahs’ treasury. They will help Iran develop advanced centrifuges.
They even committed themselves to protecting Iran’s nuclear facilities from attack and sabotage.
Under the deal, in five years, Iran will have unlimited access to the international conventional arms market. In eight years, Iran will be able to purchase and develop whatever missile systems it desires.

We may annoy them at times, but they can too easily crush us if they want. Remember that although there is so much violence and cruelty all over the world, a truly disproportionate amount of time is spent in the United Nations condemning Israel for defending itself.

And what did Iran do to celebrate id and the "deal?"

Iranian leadership sees the United States as its chief enemy, even with Barack Hussein Obama in the White House. Their focus is on the USA, not on Israel.

I highly suggest that we in Israel start taking care of ourselves and developing our country, building all over Judea and Samaria for Jews and stop waiting for the world to approve.  No matter what we do, the world won't be in our favor. The only "pats on the back" will be to knock us down.

We are now in the days leading up to the 9th of Av, the most tragic date in the Jewish calendar throughout Jewish History. It is time for us to build the Third Holy Temple on our Temple Mount and banish our enemies!!

Obama's Use of the Word "Deal" Turns My Stomach

Maybe it's just "me," but I'm very suspicious when people brag about deals they've made.

"This deal offers an opportunity to move in a new direction," Obama said. "We should seize it."
Under the deal, sanctions imposed by the United States, European Union and United Nations will be lifted in return for Iran agreeing long-term curbs on a nuclear program that the West has suspected was aimed at creating a nuclear bomb. (Reuters)

What's a deal?
There's an illegal or shady connotation to the word deal, like in drug deal or to deal meaning being in the illegal drug business.

The fact that United States President Barack Hussein Obama keeps on repeating the word "deal," rather than a more neutral or professional or safer word like "agreement" really makes me suspicious. Actually it confirms that there's something crooked and unsafe in the deal. There's nothing in it to stop the Iranians from achieving their aim to develop nuclear weapons, it just hopes to slow them down at best.

May Gd save us from these politicians. It's the 21st Century's version of Chamberlain's Munich Agreement.

Iran Nuclear "Deal:" Good News? Bad News? A Scam? or Just Too Late?!

The news is full of reports about the Iranian nuclear development "deal" brokered by the hapless John Kerry, United States Secretary of State. He had been given a very simple assignment by his president Barack Hussein Obama:

Make a deal or else!

And Kerry went off by bike, oops! fell off his bicycle during a break in the negotiations and somehow seems to have found a formula with a bit of everything that everyone wanted.

Sorry, but I don't think there's much to celebrate, because of two things:

• I don't trust the Iranians. It's a very large country and even with inspections it's easy to hide what they want to hide.
• This problem has been going on for three decades, 30 years, and I honestly think it's too late.

The simple fact that Iran is willing to sign some sort of agreement means that they really want something from the western/developed countries that they won't get otherwise.

The person, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the U.N. access would be based on consultations between the six powers and Iran under the draft deal, which would impose limits on the Iranian nuclear program in return for economic sanctions relief. Reuters (emphasis mine)

Please read carefully; "limits" does not mean the same as the cessation of the Iranian nuclear program. The bottom line is that there is absolutely nothing to celebrate. Iran will continue developing nuclear weapons in their attempt to destroy the world as we know it, Gd forbid.

Has there ever been an American President so hated by the legislature?

The American Senate has just voted their distrust in Barack Hussein Obama:

A few months ago, against Obama's wishes, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was invited to address the joint-congress. Obama and his cronies threw fits and threats, because as far as he is concerned, Bibi is his enemy. Netanyahu did speak, and contrary to threats of boycotts, most everyone attended. The cheering for what he said in his speech was overwhelming.



The subject of Netanyahu's speech was the threat of a nuclear Iran, and obviously Americans have taken his warnings very seriously. It's clear that they do not trust they do not trust the judgement of their President Barack Hussein Obama.

Americans must remember that Obama can get his way and bypass congress by "Executive Orders," which he has taken advantage of. Obama and Congress are playing a "tit for tat." I wonder how long the Congress Iran Oversight bill will sit on his desk before he signs it, if he signs it.

The tensions between Obama and Bibi aren't a secret. They come from very different backgrounds and world views. What's amazing is how much support Bibi has in the upper echelons of the American legislature.

I think that the American public supports and trusts Obama more than the legislature does. Most Americans do not have a clue nor they care about nuclear dangers, enemy countries, how outsourcing and importing are weakening the economy etc. They choose their President on issues like "same-sex marriage" and "it's time there was a woman/black/etc as President." Those opinions have nothing to do with security or economy.

At this point, the American Senate and Congress are on a much higher level than the people and the President, but no doubt that soon more and more simplistic, photogenic candidates will will by promoting the same sort of meaningless slogans like the "hope" that got Obama into the White House.

The Biblical book of Shmot, Exodus opens by talking about a "new Pharaoh" who was an ignoramus when it comes to history.

Nightmare

It seems so clear to me that Obama's policies are endangering world peace. This isn't just an "Israel problem." And there are plenty of Americans who are worried and angry, too.

The ink on the framework deal with Iran was barely dry when Sen. Tom Cotton began trying to tear up the agreement. "I'm going to do everything I can to stop these terms from becoming a final deal," the author of the now-infamous Senate Republican letter to Iran told CNN on Friday.
Cotton is hardly alone. The reaction from congressional Republicans to the nuclear deal has generally ranged from skeptical to furious. And in Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has openly said he's trying to "kill a bad deal." (vox.com)

There certainly isn't anything wrong with the fact that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Republican leaders for agreeing with one another.

There's more of a problem with the Israeli Left's (Herzog, Livni etc.) worship of Obama and the Democrats, which endangers not only the State of Israel but the security of the entire Western World and true democratic values.

The World is in Danger! Bad "Deals" mean Bad News!!

United States President Barack Hussein Obama is a young man. I'm old. I'm almost old enough to be his mother. OK, not quite but he certainly is a different generation from me. I grew up watching the news and reading newspapers. I remember things that are from history books for his generation. This, besides lots of other things, gives me a very different perspective on what is happening in the world.

I may have lost (misplaced) my new kosher for Passover toothbrush and toothpaste, which are easy to replace, but I'll never forget the overconfidence and complete misreading of the threat and effectiveness of the Vietcong versus the well-equipped modern American armed forces. Those scrappy ill-equipped guerrilla-fighters defeated the Americans in more ways than one.

So when I see headlines like "Obama: Iran Can’t Fight Us, Iran: Death to America,"

I have no doubt that the United States is in big trouble. To me this is a major case of deja vu. Is Obama really too young, or just too closed-minded, to remember the scenes of the Americans fleeing Vietnam?

To think that the USA is so foolish that it hasn't learned anything is truly frightening. The entire world is in danger because of this ridiculous "deal!"

Scams!! The Iran "Deal" and Fake Kidnapping

Time today is limited, and I don't know which awful event of yesterday to blog about. But they do have something in common; they are both scams. Yes, I'm referring to the horrendous deja vu panic two young men had put the country, security forces through yesterday afternoon-evening and until late at night over a suspected terrorist kidnapping and the other is this potentially literally world-shattering deal to allow Iran to "rein in" but not stop its nuclear weapons development.

The dangers of a nuclear Iran are international, not specifically Israeli, and I think that Prime Minister Netanyahu has been making a very serious tactical mistake by stressing the dangers to Israel instead of the dangers to international peace.

American President Barack Hussein Obama is more concerned with his deal-making than with true peace. He has two aims for his lame-duck presidency, a deal with Iran and establishing another Arab state which he calls Palestine. An Arab terror state in the heartland of Israel, a short walk from Israeli cities is the true danger to the State of Israel, not a nuclear Iran.

The pre-Passover security panic caused by two young men is unforgivable.

It is believed that Assaraf and his friend may have played a prank on authorities, as Assaraf was located with a sleeping bag and non-perishable food items shortly after Almoz's statement.
The incident began on Thursday afternoon around 4:00 p.m., when a call to the 100 emergency hotline of the Judea and Samaria district police was received from an Israeli youth, who said he and his friend had gotten stuck in their car due to a flat tire between Kiryat Arba and Beit Anoun. (Arutz 7)

World Peace, Can it Happen?

Unfortunately, the world is too busy looking for ways to condemn Israel and placate Arab/Moslem terror states to ever make "world peace" a reality.

World Peace means peace all over the world. That means that Israel's existance will not be endangered. The following film shows that a new generation of Arab terrorists are being trained in Gaza, davka, by the United Nations.



How can anyone who honestly believes in PEACE allow such terrorist training aggression to exist and continue?

The so-called moderate sic Palestinian Authority is also supporting and training terrorism against Israel in order to destroy our peaceful democratic country, Israel, which is the only Jewish country in the world.



And at the same time the United States, led by its President Barack Hussein Obama is facilitating a rushed  deal with unrepentant Iran to supposedly restrict Iran's nuclear development. The positive effects on world peace of this deal seem to be as reliable as Cinderella's pumpkin chariot.

The Obama administration is charging into a Tuesday deadline for striking a nuclear deal with Iran -- despite mounting warnings about Tehran's role in the deadly Yemen unrest, the Arab League uniting against Iran-aligned forces there and worries that a weak deal could trigger a regional arms race. Obama and crew have no problems trusting Iran but consider Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu a danger. It seems like Obama considers Netanyahu like the little boy who called the emperor "stark naked," when everyone else complimented him on his fake clothes.

This whole Obama-Bibi Netanyahu is so immature,certainly for someone who bills himself as "Leader of the Free World," or "leader of anything."

To be perfectly honest, I think that something very radical should have been done against Iran over a decade ago, when their nuclear development had begun and was more self-contained. I googled for a timeline of "nuclear Iran" and here are three I found:
Wikipedia:

August 2002: A spokesman for the MEK terrorist group holds a press conference to "expose" two nuclear facilities in Natanzand Arak that they claim to have discovered. However, the sites were already known to U.S. intelligence. Furthermore, under the terms of Iran's then-existing safeguards agreement with the IAEA, Iran was under no obligation to disclose the facilities while they were still under construction and not yet within the 180-day time limit specified by the safeguards agreement.

December 2002: The United States accuses Iran of attempting to make nuclear weapons...

BBC:

2002 September - Russian technicians begin construction of Iran's first nuclear reactor at Bushehr despite strong objections from US.
2003 June - Thousands attend student-led protests in Tehran against clerical establishment.
2003 September - UN nuclear watchdog, IAEA, gives Tehran weeks to prove it is not pursuing an atomic weapons programme...

Honestly, at this point in time, it's hard to say what action is best, but denying facts and the seriousness of the Iranian threat to world peace, like United States President Barack Hussein Obama is doing, is the absolutely worst thing to do.

Bibi, Between a Rock and a Hard Place

It's no secret that the United States President Barack Hussein Obama can't abide Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. It's also no secret that the New York Times can't find anything good to write about Netanyahu either. The NYT prefers to publish negative news about Israel,

And no surprise, Israel, especially our Prime Minister looks bad.

As I look at this awful situation that is developing between Obama, the United States Congress and Prime Minister, it seems like Bibi is between a rock and a hard place. No matter what he does at this point, he's going to look bad to someone.

If Netanyahu continues with the plans to speak to Congress, those in the American Government and media will just hate him more.  But honestly there's nothing he can do to make them like him, unless he pulls an Arik Sharon and destroys Jewish communities etc.

And if Bibi cancels his visit, he hurts his stature as an expert in the Iranian dangers and also would insult those who invited him and are counting on his support. He would also look weak in the eyes of Israelis who are impressed that there are powerful Americans who want to listen to him.

I firmly believe that Netanyahu should speak to Congress, and if it gets the Democrats angry, big deal. Just like France tried to keep Bibi out of the anti-terror rally, and his attendance was comforting to French Jewry, his speaking to Congress will strengthen the Americans who want strong action against Iran. A nuclear Iran is an international problem, not a sole Israeli one. And if powerful Americans consider the Israeli Prime Minister to be an expert, we should be proud!

Whose Expertise in International Terrorism Do You Trust More, Obama or Netanyahu?

The American and Israeli Leftist won't let the issue die. They are campaigning hard against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. They don't want to see him in office any longer. The fact that the Republican John Boehner invited Netanyahu to speak to Congress about the Iranian nuclear threat, without the approval of United States President Barack Hussein Obama has them livid and loaded with weapons to use against Bibi.

Netanyahu is likely to note that a deal that keeps Iran on the edge of nuclear capability will ignite an arms race among America’s longtime Arab allies: oil-rich Sunni gulf states such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE, which fear Tehran just as much as does ­Netanyahu.
In this, he would echo one of the president’s own former military commanders, retired Marine Gen. James Mattis who says the options will be “very bleak” if Iran comes away from any US deal with its nuclear program intact.
Apart from the president’s desperation to produce some policy triumph in the Middle East, he is no doubt thinking Iran will be an ally in the fight against the Sunni terrorists such as ISIS.
Talk about rose-colored glasses: Sen. John McCain rightly calls the idea that a deal with Iran means we’ll all be working ­together ­“delusional.”
In recent weeks alone, Iranian-backed forces have taken the capital of Yemen; Iranian-backed Hezbollah has killed two Israeli soldiers; Iran’s influence in Iraq grows while America’s declines; while in Iran itself the nation is about to put a Washington Post reporter on trial.

Yes, in Israel there's an election campaign going on. The Israeli Left, backed by American funding, is pulling no punches in their campaign against the Likud and its leader Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. This is a street fight, not one of those highly regulated Olympic wrestling or judo matches.

Deputy ministers Tzipi Hotovely and Ophir Akunis, MKs Miri Regev and Yariv Levin, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s attorney David Shimron presented evidence connecting the Zionist Union to V15 (Victory in 2015), an organization working to bring down the government, which has received funding from non-Israeli citizens S. Daniel Abraham and Daniel Lubetzky.
They spoke about V15’s funding from One Voice, which has received contributions from multiple foreign governments, organizations and non-Israeli citizens. They said Zionist Union candidates Yoel Hasson and Danny Atar and former Labor MKs Ephraim Sneh, Colette Avital, and Rabbi Michael Melchior were on One Voice’s advisory board...“This NPO scandal is worse than the first, because this time no one can say they didn’t know,” Levin said. “We are witnessing criminal behavior by Herzog and [his Zionist Union No. 2, Tzipi] Livni. When the first NPO scandal happened, Livni was in the Likud and she said the party was facing criminals. Then she stood for the rule of law. Now she stands beside Herzog in silence.”
Herzog chose to remain silent during the investigation of the 1999 NPO scandal. Regev dared him to go to police now and testify.

Many of us in Israel are more concerned about Israeli security and sovereignty than the issues Herzog, Livni and other Leftists are bringing up against Netanyahu and the Likud. I speak for many Israelis when I say that kowtowing to American demands in order to attempt to get on the "good side" of the virulently antipathetic Obama is not what we want Israel to do.

The true story of American-Israeli relations is checkered at best. Rarely has there been a United States President who truly felt a warm friendship to Israel. There was no American aid to Israel until after the June, 1967, Six Days War. I remember that war very well. I wasn't a child. Israel didn't have a single ally in June, 1967. The world stood by and watched expecting the three Arab armies, Egypt, Syria and Jordan, to easily defeat us.

It was a continuation of the attitude of the world during the Nazi rise to power and subsequent Holocaust. World War Two had nothing whatsoever to do with saving European Jewry. It was to stop the Nazi invasion and conquering of Europe and Great Britain.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is an expert on International Terrorism. That was his field before going into Israeli politics. What was United States President Barack Hussein Obama before going into American politics? "Community organizer?" Netanyahu didn't need any "affirmative action" to get into M.I.T. when competition for its few elite places was its fiercest while "baby boomers" were most numerous.

The American People should be happy that they have politicians willing to listen to hard news. The Iranian nuclear danger is international, not just targeting Israel.

Re: Bibi "Chickenshit" Epithet and Iran Strike

In the quotations about the American official who referred to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu as "chickenshit" there's a comment alleging that he didn't have the guts to attack Iran to destroy its nuclear capabilities.

Goldberg quoted another official who reportedly agreed with the first official's assessment but added that Netanyahu was also a "coward" on the Iranian nuclear threat issue. 
The second official reportedly told Goldberg that the "Obama administration no longer believes that Netanyahu would launch a preemptive strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities."  
“It’s too late for him to do anything. Two, three years ago, this was a possibility. But ultimately he couldn't bring himself to pull the trigger. Now it’s too late.”  (emphasis mine, quotes from  the Jerusalem Post)

If anyone is to look at this carefully, it shows the real cowardliness of the American Government and its president.

Simply, if the Iranian nuclear weapons development is a threat to world peace, then you'd expect the purported "world power" to attack and destroy it. Nobody would expect a tiny country like Israel to have to take on that risky, expensive task.

We all know the truth that if anyone is chicken, it's the Americans who have its enemies thousands of miles away and love to push around anyone who doesn't push it back. It's time for the State of Israel to recognize that the United States Government is neither a friend nor a strategic ally.

• We must go our own way, rip up those American shopping coupons aka "defense aid" and put the development of our military industries in high gear.
• The American demands on Israel which they call "peace negotiations" must be firmly and finally be rejected, never to be considered again.
• Prime Minister Netanyahu must rescind his support for a "Palestinian State" and the "two state solution," admitting that he had made a terrible mistake by ever agreeing to such a thing.

The only comfort in this little "scandal" is that on the eve of the American Elections, the "chickenshit" has hit the fans and it's falling over the Barack Hussein Obama administration like hurricane.

For further proof that there's no justice for Jews in this world, the United Nations Security sic Council is planning to meet about Israel's building plans.

(Reuters) - The U.N. Security Council will hold an emergency meeting this week on recent tensions between Israel and the Palestinians in East Jerusalem due to Israel's plans to build more settlements, council diplomats said on Tuesday.

What about ISIS?

ISIS has seized huge chunks of Syria and Iraq in recent months, beheading Western journalists and nonbelievers as it strives to establish an independent "Islamic State" in the region. The terror group has been locked in a battle with Kurdish forces in the northern Syrian border town of Kobani since mid-September. The United States and its allies are bombing ISIS positions there, but airstrikes have yet to pry Kobani from the group's hands. (CNN)

Do All Arabs Support Hamas?

As you who read my blogs probably know, I work with Arabs. I don't exist in an all Jewish ghetto or vacuum. Being part of a multicultural/national/religious environment was one of the unexpected "bonuses" or phenomena I discovered working as an ordinary salesperson in Yafiz, Sha'ar Binyamin. I'm pretty sure my boss didn't mention it when she offered me the job.

Few people outside of Israel have an idea of how much daily mundane interaction there is between Jews and Arabs in Israel. It's not just a matter of those who hire Arab builders, cleaners and other blue-colored workers. The hospitals are full of Arab Israeli-trained medical staff, and all sorts of stores and restaurants hire Arabs. Besides that, you'll find Arab customers and bus drivers, pharmacists etc. Arabs with Israeli citizenship can enter any part of the country, even more easily than Jews can. That's because anyone who seems Jewish  isn't allowed on "Arab roads" or in "Arab buses," even in Jerusalem.

There are a few interesting things many people have noticed since this recent war between Israel and Hamas began. One is that most Arab countries are trying to keep out. Egypt, which occupied the Gaza Strip (as it was once called) until the Six Days War is promoting itself as a mediator between Israel and Hamas. Jordan which had occupied Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley from 1948-1967 has been keeping a very low profile. It has too much to lose if Hamas gets stronger. Jordan is actually the second item on Hamas's menu after Israel. So the Jordanians are hoping that Israel will keep Hamas under control.

Egypt, which mediated a second 72-hour halt to Gaza fighting yesterday, is now ruled by an army chief who presided over a crackdown on Hamas’s Islamist patrons. Saudi Arabia’s king didn't explicitly criticize Israel in a recent lament over civilian deaths in Gaza. At work the extreme reduction in the amount of Arab shoppers is very obvious. I've been working at Yafiz, part of the Rami Levy company for close to four years, and we always had masses of Arabs shopping for holiday clothes during the latter part of Ramadan. It had always made up a very impressive percentage of our sales volume. This year it didn't happen. Hardly a single Arab customer entered the store, certainly none of the usual "shopping tours" we were used to seeing. They didn't patronize Rami Levy Discount Supermarket either.

On the other hand, Arab staff members barely missed a shift. They didn't want to lose their jobs. Minimum wage jobs with Israeli work conditions are considered as relatively "good jobs" for Arabs whether living in Jerusalem with Israeli papers or in the nearby Arab villages. When asked where the Arab customers were, they said that the village leaders had warned them all that the Jews were preparing to murder them, revenge, "tag mechir," "price tag" attacks. The fact that the Arab employees in Rami Levy and Yafiz return home from their shifts in good health doesn't seem to convince them that they are being manipulated, lied to.

It seems like just as the Americans and the so-called "free world" would like Israel to take care of Iran and destroy its nuclear weapons industry, the Arab world would be perfectly happy if Israel would take care of Hamas and destroy its terror base. That makes me wonder which country really is considered the greatest power on earth...
