Child Psychology on Israeli TV

The excellent Israeli children's show, Channie's Room, is having special programming for the war effort.

The young guests were all from areas being attacked by the Gazan terrorists. She tried to draw the kids into conversation, but they seemed too "shell-shocked" to participate. I guess she didn't have enough prep time with them.

Kids generally write in to request to be on the show, and these kids were probably recommended by schools. Today's show was rather shorter than usual. It probably would have been better to give her more time instead of showing some cartoons.

She publicized a number kids could call.

Shalom!
Channie also encourages children to eat shrimp. For that, and many other reasons, the show is not suitable at all for the religious public.
I hadn't even heard of the show until we were stuck in a hotel in Be'er Sheva for six months without a shaded playground within walking distance. I soon learned that there is virtually nothing even barely tolerable for religious kids on Israeli TV. "Educational TV" is a bad joke.

I never heard about the shrimp. I've heard good things about her. Today's show was interesting. She may tailor the talk for the type of kid.
