Bibi, Two Feet In The Left

No surprise. Binyamin Bibi Netanyahu, Israel's Prime Minister has joined the Left by adopting their slogan, "two states for two people." I heard it from his very mouth on the news.

"For the first time, we brought a national agreement for the concept of two states for two peoples," he said at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting.

I'm not really surprised. What disappointed me was to hear faux Right Benny Begin make some double-talk excuses for him on Israel's Chanel One.

I am glad that I didn't vote Likud!

A weaker Likud would have been stronger for Israel in the opposition. Last year I heard Bibi say that his aim was to be "center," and I've been blogging about it ever since.

Here's some irony for you. The Israeli media/Left wants us to think that the statement Bibi just made is what the world wants. I've been searching all the big news sites, New York Times, BBC, Fox and now CNN, and zero, nada, nothing about Bibi's cave-in.

Maybe there will be something somewhere tomorrow, but if this was considered important news, it would have been posted on the news sites hours ago.

Why haven't Likudniks like Moshe Feiglin reacted? And what about Likud MK's Erdan, Rivlin and Tzippi Hotobilli?

Bibi's not leading. He's chasing the Left-Led tail.

Hotovelli on INN TV

As for Manhigut Yehudit:

Feiglin: Netanyahu's Two-State Proposal Hijacks Nationalist Votes that Elected Him

Se that, Batya? You say "jump" and they jump! :)

In addition, just after Netanyahu's squirmy response to Barack's Cairo speech, in a session of the World Likud organization in the Knesset, the first item on the agenda was a vote against their own party leader's idea of a potential 2 state solution. The vote in the room was unanimously against Netanyahu.

Why you don't hear this is a combination of the Tishoret (the lying left mass media) and political manouvers in the corridors of the Knesset.

Shy, I predicted that Bibi would fall further and further to the Left, following the spiraling "center."
Feiglin, Hotobilli etc should leave the Likud and join Ichud Le'umi and make it much larger. It is the leading Land of Israel Party, or the only reliable political party. All you guys have done was strengthen Bibi.

Um, so did everyone else that I know. Even my kids predicted this. Not much of a chidush, sorry.

Feiglin, Hotobilli etc should leave the Likud and join Ichud Le'umi and make it much larger.
-------------------------------

And still sit uselessly in opposition and never represent a broad breadth of loyal Jewish Israeli society, as only the Likud membership continues to do.

Some of us don't have your short fuse.

-------------------------------

The penny will never drop by you, will it?! It is you and your umpteenth repeat of the same Dati Leumi sectoral party rehash that has made it simple for Netanyahu to continue alliancing with the left, with so much less opposition from within because everyone thinks it's better to shout at Bibi from positions of zero influence.

Enjoy the decades old position of political impotency!

Shy, you guys haven't helped, haven't kept the Likud and Bibi on the Right track.

Get real. There's no time to waste.

I love it. You split off from a united effort and we haven't helped join you in your trip down powerless lane.

Check you Gmail inbox.

Shy, don't forget that Likud Left the Right when Begin gave Sadat Sinai.

Don't pull the "unity" cry. I'm with Yehoshua and Calev, the 2/12. And I'm trying to increase our numbers.

You can increase the numbers but you cannot achieve critical mass.

I take it that you associate people like me with the other 10 meraglim as a virtual slap in the face.

Likud rebellion against PM emerges

It's better to sit in the opposition and not compromise your principles than to sit in the coalition and be a traitor.
"First do no harm."

Hadassa, who compromised their principles? In fact, who advocated it?

You, too, don't catch.

Batya, I emailed you yesterday. Not interested?

Shy Guy, my point is that being in the coalition is worthless if in order to do so one has to sacrifice principles. You kvetch and kvetch about right-parties that sit in the opposition. What should they do? Sell-out and sit in the coalition and participate in destroying Israel? Again: "First do no harm."
Who has compromised principles? Among others, any member of the Likud who is helping Bibi to destroy Israel. That includes members of MY who advised voting for Likud.

Batya said...

Shy, I replied a short while ago, yes, interested.

Hadassa, you state it well. Why don't you blog here?

Hadassa said...

Shalom!
I don't have the time, and possibly not the material, to blog "full time". If I ever have an article worth printing, you'll hear about it.

No Hadassa, sit in the Likud and vote against the country's prime minister, the very head of your own party.

Can't be done unless you're in the castle.

Who ever talked about selling out!!

The harm was done buy weakening the loyal Israel support within the Likud. Less Knesset seats meant Netanyahu had to look elsewhere for even more leftist coalition partners. And as Muse herself said, she knew all along that this is what Netanyahu wanted to do. Thank you very much! Happy now?!?!

Still don't get it, do you?

Hadassa said...

Shy Guy, what exactly has MY accomplished? Likud hasn't been right-wing in decades. It's just not fertile ground for what MY is trying to do.
I follow your logic, but I don't agree with it.

The Likud hasn't been right wing in decades because no one has tried until the last several years to do so.

Yet again and again, in internal member gatherings and Central Committee meetings and votes, the overwhelming majority are AGAINST Netanyahu's pronouncements.

The biggest problem today is that there are not enough people inside to push the bad guys at the top over the wall and out for good.

Shalom!
It's high time we stopped beating our heads against the wall concerning the Likud. As the muse said in her first comment on this post, we should be encouraging the good people to leave and join the NU instead of wasting valuable resources and precious time trying to force the bad guys out.
