Why Is Israel Negotiating With The United States?

First of all, I must say that I'm glad that those negotiations were a "flop." But even more important. What ever happened to the concept of direct negotiations between Israel and her enemies? Or... take out your math... is the United States Israel's enemy?

The New York Times titled its article in a rather insulting way, referring to Israel's Defense Minister Ehud Barak as just "an official."

Israeli Official Meets With U.S. Envoy in London

Could that reflect America's respect for Israel's sovereignty?

What's the real point of these negotiations? Should Israel trust George J. Mitchell? Do these negotiations prove that the United States identifies with Israel's enemies?

Simple math:
Israel should negotiate with its enemies:

Israel + enemies
Israel + United States
United States = Israel's enemies?

It seems that the US is now acting like the Egyptians in the time of Moses. In a comment on Exodus Chapter 3, verse 9, (And therefore, behold, the cry of the people of Israel has come to me; and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.)R. B'chai comments that the oppression took the form of refusing to allow the Jews to settle outside of Goshen, after their birth rate resulted in the area being too small to contain them - and pointing to Judges Chapter 1, verse 34, where the same oppression is ascribed to the Amorites refusing to permit the tribe of Dan to descend into the vally when they had outgrown their hilltop. It seems to be a favorite way of oppressing - and shamefully adopted by the US under Obama

a, very interesting

Last night, my movie club saw the first part of Schindler's List, and when I saw the people herded out of their homes by the Nazis, I kept thinking of Disengagement. Of course it's not the same, but Obama wants us out of our homes. Blatant discrimination, racism etc, just because we're Jews.
