Follow Chava Willig Levy's example and write to the papers.
You don't have to be a professional writer. The trick is to write briefly and clearly. Each letter should have one simple point without distractions.
A two-sentence, three-line letter has a better chance of getting published than a long missive, resembling an op-ed piece.
Relate them to something published in the same periodical.
Don't be apologetic. And don't add anything extra.
It's better to send five short letters, than one long essay.
Shabbat Shalom
