SENATE APPROVES DAVID FRIEDMAN AS ISRAEL AMBASSADORFriedman has had strong ties with Israel all his life and even owns a vacation home here and is a very strong supporter of Jewish Rights to live in all of the Land of Israel, including Judea and Samaria. He is also a longtime personal friend of American President Donald Trump and helped him during the campaign, which is how he got the nod. Since being elected, Trump has backtracked on many of his campaign promises concerning Israel, or at least the promises his friends had made in his name. Gd willing, Friedman will succeed in getting Trump back on track to support Jewish Life and building in all of the Land of Israel.
In a rare move, almost all Democrat members of Senate voted against Friedman's nomination. (Jerusalem Post)

If you happen to listen to the confirmation hearing and the answers Freidman gave, policy is two states, zehu. He is an employee of the US Govt and has to follow policy.
He'll say whatever he's told to say. Ambassador doesn't make policy, just nuances and reports.
He can advise the President, though.
