Israel's Ehud Barak, The World's Wimpiest Defense Minister

Hat tip: IMRA

If you don't know Hebrew, this is translated on the youtube.  I'm glad that I didn't watch it on a full stomach.

Ehud Barak, living up to his old moniker אהוד ברח, Ehud barach fled says that there's no solution to the attacks on Israel, and if anyone wants to live in peace and quiet he should move to another country. Yes, I kid you not!

What an awful thing to hear first thing in the morning. Well, if Barak isn't embarrassed to say this we're in awful trouble. And I guess the conclusion is that we are in awful trouble. It's like the time of the Judges, when there was no king, no competent leadership of the Jewish People.
כה בַּיָּמִים הָהֵם, אֵין מֶלֶךְ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל: אִישׁ הַיָּשָׁר בְּעֵינָיו, יַעֲשֶׂה. {ש} 25 In those days there was no king in Israel; every man did that which was right in his own eyes. {P}

Last night I was horrified by the news on IBA's Chanel One. They showed an area they called perfectly protected by cement covering and walls, nice and large enough for cyclists and "normal life." Then they visually compared homes with what was described as "protection" versus the damaged "unprotected" ones, making their message clear that life can go on in "safety" with the right "equipment," which includes the Iron DomeTheater of the Absurd?  I wish it was just some theatrical parody!

Unfortunately this is the government of Likud's Binyamin Netanyahu!  All of you who voted for Likud got Labor's Ehud Barak.  The Moshe Feiglin people should be supporting and pushing the Ichud Le'umi, National Union into a political party gearing itself for national leadership, not harping from the peanut gallery.  If Kadima had managed to put together the coalition with Likud in the opposition, the Likud would have been more nationalist, pro-Land of Israel, Right rather than Center-Left.  No Israeli political party has done more damage to the Land of Israel than the Likud under Menachem Begin, Ariel Sharon and Binyamin Netanyahu.

Voting Likud into power is like those old TV game shows where you choose a prize, which may be worth a lot or a little.  You have no way of knowing.  Voting Likud into power is a no-brainer, because you never get what their ideology and platform had promised.

Well, this isn't Egypt, Libya etc.  We're not going to riot in the streets in protest.  But we can't ignore the fact that we chose the booby-prize, and we're going to have to do something about it.

There's a war going on.  Israel is being attacked, and all our Defense Minister Ehud Barak has to say is "Restraint is Strength," and if you don't like it leave.

Ehud, you first! I'd like to see who follows if you say:
"Acharai, after me."

Here we go again!

The peanut gallery has been consistently in the opposition, since the founding of the State.

Sectarian political parties are a dead end. Inchud Leumi is Mizrachi/Mafdal 5 or 6.

There is a large contingent of Israel-loyal voters and Central Committee members in the Likud, whom you are abandoning. They won't join you and your merry men.

There's a way to unite but you just can't figure it out. And so we will continue going nowhere, just where they want us to.

i kind of agree with barak. this country has never known peace.
i think you ought to check up what you mean by no-brainer.

Shy, Feiglin plan's not going to work with the Likud. The Likud is too entrenched in its old leaders to give anyone else power. A new party joining with NU, clear ideology would have a chance.

a, who are you? where are you? We would have had lasting peace after the Six Days War but Dayan gave Har Habayit to the Arabs and things have been going downhill ever since.

Barak stated that we should get used to the rockets. He sees no way of stopping them. Let him move to Europe.

i am a jew living in jlem [but you know this already].
i do not think dayans har habayit thing has anything to do with todays situation.
saying that we should get used to the rockets is unacceptable.
but that barak should leave israel is also unacceptable. all jews, even if you dont like their politics, should find a home in israel [omg, is that zionism?]

a, lots of commenters go by the generic name of "Anonymous." To me it's impossible to know which/who you are.
Barak said that those who don't like it should leave.

Of course we're suffering the results of the post-Six Days Wars reactions. The entire YESHA, Golan and Jordan Valley should have been annexed offering the Arabs the choice of a proper loyalty oath, national Israeli responsibilites etc in exchange for citizenship.
