What/Who Made Goldstone Wise Up?

All of a sudden, Richard Goldstone has admitted that maybe his report about the Gaza war of 2008-09 for the U.N. Human Rights Council was mistaken.  Nu, it was obvious from day one.  The facts he and the rest of his committee left out then had been easily available if they had wanted to look for them, nu, so why all of a sudden now does his conscious bother him?

Let's see the U.N. Human Rights Council and Goldstone use those same criteria they had used then on Israel to investigate the U.S.  and allies' attacks on Libya.

I wouldn't say that Goldstone, a retired justice of the Constitutional Court of South Africa and former chief prosecutor of the U.N. International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda, was "used" by the United Nations and the international media.  I think that his pride got in the way of his brains.  He was blinded by the honor of the position accorded him and didn't think, didn't investigate, didn't ask the right questions nor listened for honest answers.

Pirkei Avot:
Chapter 6:5

Seek not greatness for yourself, and covet not honor more than your learning; neither crave you for the table of kings, for your table is greater than their table, and your crown is greater than their crown, and your Employer can be trusted to pay the reward for your labor.
I'm glad that he has finally admitted that something was wrong in his actions, though it doesn't go far enough.

from what i understood, it was in response to eli yishai's letter on march 24th, in which yishai blamed goldstone for giving the legitimacy to terrorists to murder children http://ruchoshelmashiach.blogspot.com/2011/04/has-goldstone-done-teshuva-dershowitz.html

You haven't yet told us what caused Goldstone to wise up.

It's about time Goldstone says something but it may be too late to repair anything.

I don't know if we'll ever know the truth about Goldstone, unless he reveals it.

Goldstone having a change of heart does not invalidate the goldstone report. Despite the name it was the work of more than one person, four principle authors in fact, and who knows how many support staff. The biggest extent of Goldstone's change of view should be a footnote and perhaps a renaming of the report since he clearly wishes to distance himself from it.

Poor Atlanta Roofing, posts the same nonsense on Israpundit. Perhaps he's fallen head first off of one of his business projects.
