All those years successive Israeli Governments ignored the missile attacks against it from Arabs in Gaza and Lebanon have increased the danger. The latest military intelligence is that Arabs in Gaza, (and possibly Lebanon, too), have rocket launchers which can reach Tel Aviv.
Each time a Kassam is launched by the Arab terrorists at Israel, they are practicing. This isn't some innocent baseball pitching. They are out to destroy us and they're not too shy to say so. We just have to listen. We have to hear what they are saying and not what we want them to say.
The Israeli politicians, urged by its media and foreign busybodies, like Obama, Clinton (both,) Blair, Sarkozy etc refuse to accept the truth. No concessions, gestures, gifts of Land etc will placate the Arabs. They want us dead and gone. Our only defense is to refuse to obey foreign advice. We must be strong and only do what's best for us. The world will rally around or look for someone else to bully.

Minimal intelligence.
Perhaps we need more leaders who daven Shmonah Esrei 3 times a day and, among other requests, ask Hashem to grant them intelligence and wisdom.
Perhaps.
You forgot guts to do what's right instead of what others want...
We can't blame leaders anymore or want them to do tshuva.
It's us. We have to do tshuva. The leaders just follow our lead and we are bringing all this onto ourselves.
First thing to do is stop reading the tabloids and watching the evening news. Being a consumer of these organs gives them more power and weakens the consumer into apathy.
yeah. its a problem. we cant be a stephanfetchit for the world, but we also must respect, or at least respond respectfully and skillfully, when they talk if we are to be a part of the larger world...
josh, tshuva is great, but we can't ignore the news. We have Shabbat for our "escape," and we don't have to listen to hourly updates, but we must know what's happening.
a, yes, good points
