According to The Torah, The Jewish Bible, No Two State Solution!

Now that my father is living with us, I can't get to the synagogue on Shabbat.  I have to be home with him.  I still doven, say my prayers, and I read the entire Parshat Shavua, Week's Torah Portion and Haftara, but at home.  It's amazing what once suddenly notices, even though we read the same words every year in the Parshat Shavua annual cycle.  This week's Parsha is Toldot, and this is what it says:

כא וַיֶּעְתַּר יִצְחָק לַיהוָה לְנֹכַח אִשְׁתּוֹ, כִּי עֲקָרָה הִוא; וַיֵּעָתֶר לוֹ יְהוָה, וַתַּהַר רִבְקָה אִשְׁתּוֹ. 21 And Isaac entreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren; and the LORD let Himself be entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said: 'If it be so, wherefore do I live?' And she went to inquire of the LORD.
23 And the LORD said unto her: Two nations are in thy womb, and two peoples shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

There is nothing about sharing our Land and Birthright.  And the Arabs don't even claim descent from Essau, not that their Ishmael claims are even valid.  If you read further, you'll see that Yitzchak (Isaac)'s blessing to Ya'aqov (Jacob) when he thought he was blessing Essau did not include the Birthright to be the next stage of G-d's Brit, Covenant with G-d.  That was given later to Jacob as Jacob:
Genesis Chapter 28
1 And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him: 'Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan.
2 Arise, go to Paddan-aram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother's father; and take thee a wife from thence of the daughters of Laban thy mother's brother.
ג וְאֵל שַׁדַּי יְבָרֵךְ אֹתְךָ, וְיַפְרְךָ וְיַרְבֶּךָ; וְהָיִיתָ, לִקְהַל עַמִּים. 3 And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a congregation of peoples;
4 and give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land of thy sojournings, which God gave unto Abraham.'

That's the crucial blessing.  The words and their meaning are very clear.  There's nothing ambiguous about them.  Another parallel to today is:

מא וַיִּשְׂטֹם עֵשָׂו, אֶת-יַעֲקֹב, עַל-הַבְּרָכָה, אֲשֶׁר בֵּרְכוֹ אָבִיו; וַיֹּאמֶר עֵשָׂו בְּלִבּוֹ, יִקְרְבוּ יְמֵי אֵבֶל אָבִי, וְאַהַרְגָה, אֶת-יַעֲקֹב אָחִי. 41 And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him. And Esau said in his heart: 'Let the days of mourning for my father be at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.'

We must take it all very seriously and not let PC fancy talk confuse and weaken us.

And what does the Torah say about cleansing the land? But instead we concentrate on rabbinical fences while we ignore the Torah. Oh how we wonder why life is so difficult for us.

Shiloh, careful there. I know where you're going. I trust "the rabbis," but I don't trust you. You don't believe in the Jewish Bible.

this is largely irrelevant to the discussion. your 'proof' is really only preaching to the converted, and we dont need more of that.

Partially. How could anyone who claims to be a Torah Jew be in favor of something so in defiance of the Torah?

We also read in Toldot how the Philistines (who the Arabs are also not descended from) filled in Avraham's wells, and that when Yitzchak opened them Avimelech's people drove him away and claimed the wells for themselves. What has changed other than the people trying to claim that which is ours?

The Torah also teaches us that even on Shabbat, when an enemy is coming for merely the straw of your fields, that you are to take up arms and drive them away because if you let them have the stubble they will come for the field. If they take the field they will come for the village...

We ignored this completely and now the world wants to cut out the heart of our land, separating us from our patriarchs and matriarchs. How do Jews hope to merit reclaiming Har HaBayit when our leaders reject our birthright? We have a long way to go, and not much time to get there.

Shtuey, very true. There's so much to learn from the Torah.

Really 'Batya'! I don't beleive in the Torah from Moshe? One day you will find out where the source of your soul is from, and it is not that of the ancient Hebrews. Maybe you should look at the reincarnations of the wicked evil Erev Rav you slandering discrace to haShem and His Torah. Trust your 'rabbi's' when they screw you just like the sell out's of the expulsion. You will eat your words 'Batya', that can be assured. Maybe you should read the Jewish Bible, like where it states explicitly that we Jews will follow a religion of men!! Wait until we get hammered soon and when you cry, there will be no one to help. Just like history has proven, why, because you don't know whom you slander. Go talk to your 'rabbi' about that one. And you claim to be a Torah Jewess. Laughable at best, maybe a follower of men while spitting on the G-d of the Hebrews and His Torah.

It's ok for Shtuey to say to drive them out because of the results, but G-d forbid if I state the same thing.

It is interesting when you get to sit down and really concentrate on the Torah portion.

About a year ago I was reading the book of Kings and one thing really stood out--every king of Israel who permitted idolatry (on the temple mount I believe) and sacrificed children where deemed evil.

All of which has me wondering if the first matter of business should be to destroy the al aqsa mosque? Controversial, I know but that's the heart of Israel. If the heart becomes diseased and stops beating so, too, does the body.

I think things are going to come to a head eventually and it Israelis will need to recapture the temple mount and throw out the Arabs.

I tried to post something to that effect on A7 but it was censored out. Probably because it could incite people but I think it's a reasonable thing to ponder. Where does Israel begin to remove evil? The settlements? Or the heart of the country?
*******

Shiloh, I see where you're going too. There's no such thing as rabbinic Judaism. Judaism is Judaism. The rabbis follow the Torah.

I guess what I'm wondering is--since we know what Torah commands how is it actually put into practice in terms of the Arabs in Israel?

Batya said...

Keli, if the Arabs aren't willing to accept our authority and laws, they must leave. All countries make such demands.

Shtuey, the 'Palestinians' are NOT descendants from the Philistines. The Philistines originated in Greece, the 'Palestinians' are a new grouping of Arabs.

Shtuey said...

Anonymous, I thought I made that point clear in my comment. Perhaps not. They have also recently claimed to be the descendants of the Jebusites that lived in Jerusalem when David Melech conquered it. You need a scorecard to keep track of who the "Palestinians" want us to believe they are.

Their real problem is that wherever you put a shovel into our land you find our heritage, not theirs. The best they can do is invent it. Sadly, too many people believe the lies.

Absolutely right.

I recall reading the original copy of my paternal grandfather's immigration papers (he was born in Canada). He had to renounce allegiance to the king of England, and vow that he was not an Anarchist.

OT: I saw a video on You Tube today and apparently there's a group in Israel called Anarchists Against the Wall. Apparently, Anarchy with a capital A is seeing a revival in the world.

I didn't know until relatively recently that Anarchy was a political movement and not just another word for trouble maker.

As I see it, Arabs unwilling to live in Israel as a Jewish state are criminal Anarchists and should be expelled from the country.

Here's a perfect example of the problem. When Gideon Sa'ar announced that there were going to be courses introduced about Jewish culture, heritage, and leadership, and that the nakba was no longer going to be taught (the fact that it was in the first place is mind boggling) in Israeli schools, the Arabs were outraged. If they think Israel is such a "catastrophe" then why is it that they live there? Oh yeah, healthcare and financial subsidies. That they are more than willing to accept from the catastrophe. It makes me nauseous.

Arab parents were threatening to pull their kids out of the schools. I say that if they don't like it they can get a one way Egged ride over the Allenby Bridge.

They hate Israel but want to leech off its benefits.

It's insane.
