Re: Obama's Health Bill, What About The Expats? Will We Be Fined?

The New York Times had the following sentence:
"And it would impose a requirement that nearly all Americans obtain insurance or pay monetary penalties for failing to do so."
Emphasis mine.  Does it mean that we're in the clear?  It's obvious that the present situation in the United States is horrendous and something must be changed.  I'm not interested in the details of the proposed law, except for how it affects me.  I have no right to interfere in such internal American affairs.

I'm an American citizen but don't live in the United States and have no plans to do so.  I visit family there and always purchase Israeli Travel Insurance, so I'll be covered if I need medical care.  If I'll be threatened with a fine, aka "monetary penalty" for not having an American Health Insurance Policy, I just won't go to the states.  And I'm not the only one who will look for other places to meet family and friends.

If anyone if anyone is familiar with the nitty-gritty of the bill passed in the Senate, please let me know in the comments here.  Thanks

So far I haven't read anything on how Obamacare will impact Americans with dual citizenship. It's just one of many things this hairbrained president hasn't considered.

I also wonder how it will impact Americans like Scientologists who as part of their religion do not go for traditional medical care.

The whole thing is a mess and I really hate the idea of government penalizing Americans for not having healthcare.

Actually, I blogged about it, but before the Senate voted. All citizens are required to pay, even if they live abroad. The House deleted that part and the question is what the Senate will do. If the Senate doesn't delete it, then they'll haggle.

Even those opposed to conventional medicine should have a policy for accidents and things their faith can't heal.

Let them try to collect. How will they collect it from resident citizens? As a payroll deduction? Together with income tax? I'm here. They're there. If it comes to that I will simply ignore them.I could renounce my US citizenship, but I doubt it would be necessary. Pretty soon, thanks to Obama, all the Jews will be here.

Do you accept any child tax credit refunds from the US treasury, as many US expats in Israel do?

Does Israel accept billions in US aid money every year?

Did you vote absentee in US elections, which is your right?

If you answered yes to any of these, shut up and pay up. Or else renounce your US citizenship.

Those are your only respectable options - and that's the truth, courtesy of a Zionist American Jew.

The US aid is not to Israel but to the Pentagon, from which Israel must by. Israel is just a necessary prop in the ruse.

Is Zionist American Jew afraid of the dual loyalty canard?

goyish and the a's,
My kids are all adults and I never got a red cent for them from the USA. I've never voted in American elections.
Israel does not get money from the U.S. It gets shopping coupons to use in American factories and weaken Israeli defense industry.
I don't fill out American tax returns since our income is from Israel.
The U.S. can collect from expats 3 ways, passport renewal, tax returns and when entring the country.
Contrary to what a1 aludes to, this isn't just targetting Americans in Israel. All expats, whether in Europe, Africa, Asia or some south sea island. Obama's mother would have been taxed.
