It's no secret that non-Jews live in Israel, some Moslem and some Christian and some of other religions. Two religions irk/bother/worry/threaten Jews the most. The are the Mormons and the "Jews for Jesus." Both of these religions proselytize, try to convince Jews to join their religions.
A Jew, born a Jew, even if he/she is ignorant of Jewish Laws or practices/observes another religion is still technically a Jew, a sinning Jew, but a Jew.
It was discovered, or revealed, that one of the finalists in Israel's Bible Contest for Jewish Youth is of the "Jews for Jesus." This has many Jews upset, since the girl with the very Jewish-sounding name of, Bat El Levy, is going to be competing in a contest for Jewish youth. Some people are afraid:

What if a 'messianic Jew' wins Israel's annual Bible quiz?
I've already written that I hope that being exposed to the elite of Torah Jewish youth, maybe she'll be influenced in the Jewish direction. All of this media focus on her is to her advantage. It is encouraging her to study even harder. I just hope the other contestants are studying harder than she is.
There's another aspect to this. Think about this one. They have a female representing them. Reform and Conservative Jews have been bemoaning the fact that women are running things and men are running away. By opening up more "ritual" opportunities to the women, the men have lost interest.
It's a very "damned if we do; damned if we don't" situation. Whatever we do or don't do has repercussions. For sure, the other contestants must be well-prepared for any discussions with her. No, I don't think she should be ignored. G-d willing her Bible studies will bring her to true Torah Judaism.

Jews for Jesus (JfJ) are not Messianic Jews,
"They are" (Jewish) Christians. They go to Churches, and the practice Christianity.
Messianic Jews are JEWS. They are NOT Christians and they don't practice Christianity. They belives that Yeshua aka (Jesus) is the Jewish Messiah the prophets wrote about in the TaNaKh.
They Don't see or think of themselves as Christian. Most of them have problem with Christian views, practices & Theology. They live their lives and practice like any other Jew who is a Mesoraty, Conservative or Orthodox.
They davin the Jewish way as Jews do, in the Synagogue, and they don't go to churches.
They view themselves as Jews.
They are loyal to Israel and they love Israel.
It is Time to call a spade a spade.
Messiainc Jews are JEWS not Christians.
There is no need to fear Messianic Jews, they will teach Jews to maintain faithfulnes to the Covenant G-d made with Israel at Sinai and will strongly dicourage any Jew from joining a church and practice Christianity and not MAINTAINING HIS/HER HERITAGE/MASORAH.
MESSIANIC JEWS are not ChrIstian,
Hebrew Christian, or Jews For Jesus.
They are JEWS.
get it.
ES

In all honesty, I wish to thank you for the clarification. So, which group is Bat El Levy from?
