Shabbat's over, so quick note

Just a very quick note.
Spent Shabbat in Young Israel of Scarsdale.

People are concerned about what's going on in Israel. It was nice. The word "Darfur" wasn't spoken. I would have blown up.

Rabbi or someone spoke about the Israeli soldiers killed this week. I kept seeing an image of Amichai Merchavia, HaYa"D, (of Eli) when he was about 10, as I remember him when I taught in Ohel Shiloh Elementary School. And pray for another local kid wounded in the eye, Chaim Yotam ben Corrine, who was given the name Chaim when he was shot by terrorists over ten years ago.

I just checked my email and no new news, not even the name of Avi Siton, HaYa"D's nephew.

I may not have a chance to write until the end of the week, so Shavua Tov.

I hope to see you in NY on Aug. 1 at the AFSI event.

Avi Siton Hayad's nephew is named Lev Tahor, "Pure Heart". I only found out on Shabbat as (a) the mohel came 45 minutes late and then they couldn't find the baby so I went back up the hill and (b) it was only on Shabbat morning that someone told me the name. We also had another wounded soldier from Shiloh who was bitten by a poisonous snake (no, not a Hizballah) while entering Bint Jbail.
