This is the Holy Land, and G-d decides how much rain we deserve. We, the Jewish People, as a Nation haven't settled the Land sufficiently and even worse. The government has promised our Land to our enemies. The government has even promised to support the establishment of another Arab state on our Land. That's why G-d hasn't given us rain.

Why is the entire nation suffering - including the victims of the freeze - because of the evil acts of the few in charge?
This does not make sense.
According to your assumption, the Knesset building, at the time of a completely packed assembly, should fall down into a large sinkhole.

It is not the acts of the those in charge that are responsible. It is the inaction of those that are not in charge. Our people have gone through periods of poor leadership before.
We recently read about how Yaacov struggled with the angel of Esav. HaShem changed his name to Yisrael. Clearly the time has come for Am Yisrael to struggle again. When the people act for kiddush HaShem, that is when we merit miracles.
Shy, we pray in the plural. We're on this boat together. It's not enough to just be a Noach. What "sinkhole?" It's written in the Torah that G-d will hold back the rain.
Shtuey, it's a combination. We must begin to rule.
Davka, the problem is at both ends. Perhaps this fire will get everyone thinking and doing what really needs to be done.
