Listen to Bret Stephens as he proves that Israel actually follows all of the Liberal principles:
He makes a lot of sense, but since when do people listen? I hope that I'm not becoming a cynic!
To me there's an inherent contradiction, hypocrisy among the most dedicated Liberals. They are not liberal when it comes to those whose religious adherence, observance and loyalty are stronger than their worship of Liberal ideology.
PS note "liberal" versus "Liberal." I see a strong contradiction between the two. Those who call themselves Liberal hijacked the term but don't follow the actual meaning. They are actually extremely conservative, even reactionary.

This is such an important post Batya! I'm sure there are many Yidden who can forward this youtube clip (as I did) to all my super-liberal relatives who voted for Obama back in the U.S.A.
Well done, my dear!! I would NEVER have found this clip on my own. I don't know how you find these things, but you do Am Yisrael a great service by publishing them :)
BTW, I wrote on my e-mail that Orthodox Judaism disapproves of gay rights; etc., but that as a vibrant democracy, laws protecting gay rights, blah, blah, blah.
I wish nobody any harm, chalila, such as when someone gay gets stabbed or attacked. However, I cannot condone homosexuality, which is clearly against the Torah. But, until Moshiach comes these laws will probably stay in place.
"Live and let live" is my creed; Every yid has bechira chofshit. I am active in kiruv work, but as Rav Shlomo Aviner often mentions, "...we won't stone offenders...."
A very dear friend sent it to me and asked her list to send it around. Thanks
