Turkey's No Friend of Israel. NY Time's Friedman is Wrong, Again

What has been going on between Turkey and Israel, is no incident of "Friends Falling Out."  Turkey has betrayed Israel by supporting the terrorists in Gaza. No whitewashing or urging of by the United States can repair the relationship.

The friendship at its best was very one-sided.  As usual Israel did everything a friend should do, and Turkey accepted it.  But in recent years Turkey has allied itself with the Arab who have been attacking Israel.  That's not what a friend does.

And now with the pro-Gaza flotilla, armed to attack Israeli forces, Turkey has made it clear where it stands.  The United States would never accept such behavior from another country, and Israel shouldn't either.

I have a hard time believing any of the 21 or so nations surrounding Israel are friends.

In fact I have to images of the middle east--

1. One is dirty, hot, violent, Muslim, soules, backwards. Turkey in particular reminds of the film Midnight Express. It's a ghastly place.

2.The other is Israel--moral, pure, honorable, clean, holy, modern, educated. Very much in the 21st century.

Keli, do you "do" cartoons?

I wish I could, but I can't draw at all.
