Look! There's Hebrew!!!

We've been watching the news, and of course it's about what's going on in Haiti since the earthquake.  Even when Israel isn't mentioned, you can't miss the Hebrew on the uniforms, vests etc.

It's strange to think that Israel managed to organize so well, while richer countries haven't.  Israel always send aid to disaster areas, and it's not chocolate and candy.

When news stations like CNN list the countries helping, Israel is at the end, sort of swallowed like it's hard for the newscaster to say something good.  But in the pictures, you can see the Israelis.

Where are the 'peaceful' muslim countries? They have billions more than Israel and nothing from them? Or the bare essentials if that. It's loosing PR battle and maybe its because we do stupid things like expel our own citizens and leave them to face desperation like in Gush Katif? Israel is complicit in hypocracy don't you think?

Think of nearby USA which sent troops, but not a well-equipped field hospital.

The aircraft carrier the US sent has four fully equipped and staffed hospitals in it and helicopters to transport injured to them. The staff can also move elsewhere if needed. It also can purify over three million liters of water a day from seawater using its own nuclear power source. Clean water might be considered desireable under the circumstances, don't you think? Where do you suppose the Israelis will get it from?
Israel is doing very well, especially for a small country. You have no need to denigrate the efforts of the US, even by implication. We get enough of that sort of drivel from the UN and the French, thankyouverymuch.

JDL has it right! Where is the Muslim contribution to help in the Haiti disaster? The difference between the Arab response and the Israeli response is the same as the difference between their god and the God of Israel! Read between the lines!

Michael Lonie-- there is no need to be oversensitive vis a vis comments regarding the US's response. BTW, the Israelis lead the world in water purification, so I doubt they need the American ships to provide it. They come in as a complete self-sustained facility. Also, the American ships are in no position to airlift every case from Port au Prince. As proof you may look at the American physicians (among others) who are sending all of their serious cases to the Israeli hospital, if at all possible.
I think the point is that NO other country in the world can put down an entire hospital on the ground in a matter of hours anywhere on this planet. I have yet to see anyone else who can. The Israelis first did this in 1994 in Rwanda, I do believe.(The USA brought a tiny facility in to treat people).
There once was a time when America led the world and proudly stuck its finger in the air and shouted we were number one. Now, we often seem to think that only doing the latter part is the same thing. It is not.
BTW, I served in the US army for three years.

I'm proud of you, Israel. I am not at all surprised, though...Israel leads the way in so many areas. Let's not play the insane game of "who's the best", my fellow Americans--let's learn from the best, whoever they happen to be.

Thanks for the comments.

I'm glad that so many countries are helping. Even the news services most anti-Israel have been vocally impressed by Israel's professionalism.

Congratulations! I was so glad to see those videos! I know "israelim" very well: I was in Tel Aviv 5 years because my husband was in the embassy. I loved Iasrel, I loved people there, I have yet a lot of friends and I am proud of my israelim haverim and their solidarity!
Toda raba, Israel!

Maria, thanks so much!

I have no idea if that last comment is legit. I don't understand it. I'm keeping it up but I won't check the sender's link. I'd appreciate advice. Thanks
