A Political Party To Vote For

Baruch Hashem, Halleluya, Praise the Lord

Enough with the stress and suspense. I have a political party to vote for in the next Israeli Elections, whenever it will be. It may be postponed due to the Election Campaign War.

A Zionist Patriotic pro-settlement in the Land of Israel party has been formed, combining a number of small ones and factions. Baruch Merzel has promised to support it and not run against it. It even adopted a name similar to my fictional party.

No doubt, if I look carefully, I'll find things to complain about, but there's no alternative, and if Arieh Eldad, Katzale, Uri Ariel and Uri Bank are working together, that's good enough for me.

So, I'm voting for:

Enjoy another Knesset term in the opposition, accomplishing nothing in neither the short nor the long term.

Prediction: this "party" will break up before the next election in 1, 2, 3 or 4 years, just like all the predecessors.

We just keep on repeating ourselves over and over in the political arena with the same silly tactics.

Lotsa luck!

I took out comment moderation, since the "nasties" haven't been commenting of late.

It's better to be in the active opposition than in the noose of the Likud. That's why the worst withdrawals, the handing over of our Land to the terrorists are done by Likud. Disengagement was a Likud policy post elections. It's better than Bibi be frightened by a strong Right opposition. That will pull him right.

Very dramatic sounding but why is that so?

To the best of my recollection, our "active" opposition did bupkes 3 years ago. At the same time, the Likud's internal opposition to Sharon and his cronies made Sharon buck from the Likud altogether, beginning the Likud's repair process.

And so, you will have more bupkes?

Rather than being in the "noose of the Likud", you could be in the "belly of the beast".

Bibi the thug and his fellow goons are what remain to be purged from the Likud, where they do not belong in the first place.

What happens when you do a half job of repairing a semi-trailer's tires and brake linings? Your little Susita is going to get crushed.

Wrong.

Bibi will align with Kadima. He said he would. If need be, he'll align with Labor, too.

Plus you forget how reliable SHAS and Avigdor Lieberman are.

Now do the math. Bibi and the left already did and they're laughing.

The same tactic and the same uselessness again and again.

(Thanks for disabling moderation. Could you also consider allowing the HTML BLOCKQUOTE tag? Very usefull!)

Batya, Marzel's party represented by Dr. Michael Ben Ari is running with the Eretz Yisrael Shelanu party, though Marzel and Wolpe will not be candidates for the list.

shy, we'll just have to disagree on tactics, thought I think we want the same thing. What's a "HTML BLOCKQUOTE tag?" I don't think it's a blogger option.

kl, thanks for the added info.

Batya, you call it tactics.

I call it metziut.

Here my "I told you so." Go ahead and bookmark this comment for future reference.

HTML tags are the HTML commands that, for example, let you italicize and bolden text.

The BLOCKQUOTE that let's you quote a block of text in a nicely formatted manner.

I'm not sure but I'm guessing the Blogger allows you to set which HTML tags you allow commentors to use within their text stream. Right now, it says right below this comment box:

"You can use some HTML tags, such as <b>, <i>, <a>"

Obviously we see it differently. I've been involved and observing Israeli politics for almost 40 years. The Likud disappoints. It's not a true right wing party.

blogger has its limits

Yes!

This was great last minute news before the deadline to form issue the lists for the next elections. Marzel and Wolpe did a kiddush Hashem and backed down to let someone else move ahead. Ariel was worried about having Marzel on the list, that might scare away weak orange people, and Ben Ari is a worthy representative.

A party that real orange people can vote for.

I don't know the legal status of some 'beit yehudi' people jumping ship and appearing on two lists.

And if one has real emunah, then they know it does not matter how 'pragmatic' you are, you choose what is right, and let Hashem do the rest. Voting for Likud is better this time than last, but still a non-religious party. I choose Hashem, Torah, and Eretz Yisrael and whoever represents that.

Yalla, get the stickers and posters out already!
