The articles in Hudson New York are nothing like the ones in the New Tork Times. They see things very differently.
Here's an article, The Mosque at Ground Zero, a Muslim View: Planting a Flag on an Islamic Conquest by Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury, which expalins the true reason why muslims want a mosque near ground zeor, the site of the destroyed World Trade Center. It's not for the conveniene of local muslims. It's to make a point, show victory, plant a flag.
Another interesting article is Thought Police at Augusta State University, by Herbert I. London.
Back to the "stop the mosque," there will be a protest in New York. Place try to attend.

That says it exactly right! They want to plant a flag at the site of an Islamic conquest.
It seems the New York Times isn't the only paper that has a spineless backbone to stand up against this foolishness. The Toronto Star also supports this ilk ... we stood and protested and not a peep from the media. When they look bad they seem to duck and hide.

Keli, it's all so obvious, isn't it?
jdl, not just the newspapers, the politicians, too.
Shalom!
I have a serious question. Legally can the mosque be blocked? Before you throw tomatoes at me, believe me I don't want a mosque anywhere and certainly not at ground zero. My brother worked on the 33rd floor of the second building that was hit. It was a miracle that everyone in his office made it to safety. If there hadn't been a security officer standing near them as they stood in the lobby waiting for information and he hadn't received a message that a second plane was on the way...
My oldest sister passed the site on her way to work until she recently changed jobs. The once packed subways were half empty after the attack and the rubble smoldered for months.
I hope the mosque is blocked.
Every building needs a permit. New Yorkers are hyper-sensitive about the entire area.
Shalom!
So the building permit can be denied on the grounds of a security risk? There's a historic building involved in the issue also.
It seems to me that if Islam is considered a "legal" religion and not a cult, then it has every right to build in an area that has been zoned for houses of worship.
But mosques aren't isolated to NY - look what's happening throughout USA
