GUEST POST: If Isaiah Were Alive Today

If Isaiah Were Alive Today

Isaiah was one of the greatest prophets in Jewish History,

and the proof is that an entire book of the Jewish Bible

was named after him – a claim very few people can make.

The Biblical Book of Isaiah reveals details about

Isaiah’s religious teachings:

Isaiah, chapter 56, verse 2, teaches that Jews who

observe Shabbat are “fortunate”.

Verse 5 of chapter 56 teaches that Jews who observe Shabbat

will receive “an eternal name” [shem ‘olam] in the House of GYD.

Since nothing in this world lasts forever, this verse seems to

promise an eternal reward in the afterlife, (which lasts forever),

to Jews who observe Shabbat.

Verse 7 of chapter 56 teaches that Jews who observe Shabbat

will be brought to GYD’s Holy Mountain, where He will

cause them to rejoice. This might be the afterlife.

Isaiah, chapter 58, last two verses of that chapter, teaches

that Jews who observe Shabbat and rejoice in it and honor it,

they will rejoice with GYD. This might be the afterlife.

Isaiah, chapter 66, verse 17, teaches that Jews who eat the meat

of forbidden [non-kosher] animals will be punished by GYD.

Even though this verse only mentions three specific forbidden

animals, the Midrash Rabah, Seder Naso, Parshah 12, Paragraph 4,

teaches that this verse is true for ALL animals that the Torah forbids.

In our times, we have a special name for Jews who loyally

observe Shabbat, like Isaiah taught; and who also refuse to

eat non-kosher foods, like Isaiah taught; they are called:

Orthodox Jews.

The overwhelming majority of non-Orthodox Jews abandoned

eating only-kosher foods and more than 60 years ago.

99.9% of Jews alive today who observe Shabbat correctly

and loyally are Orthodox, even though Orthodox Jews are

less than one-fifth (1/5^th) of the world’s Jewish population.

Therefore, if Isaiah were alive today, he would

likely be categorized as an Orthodox Jew!

Isaiah (chapter 9, verse 16) criticizes Jews for speaking
obscene language, which is also known as dirty words
or swear words, or nibul peh in Hebrew. In our times,
the ONLY Jews who avoid speaking obscene language
because of their religious beliefs are Orthodox Jews.

Non-Orthodox Jews may also avoid speaking obscene
language, but they do so to comply with etiquette or
professionalism, not because of their religious beliefs.
This is an additional reason why Isaiah would be
an Orthodox Jew, if he were alive today.
