Yes, Barack Obama is riding high, but there are two wind storms coming his way. The first is the great expectations of Black Americans, hoping for extra protexia, as we call it here. And the sencond is the serious state of the American economy; U.S. Jobless Rate Hits 14-Year High among other problems.
If he doesn't give Black Americans the feeling that they're getting "extra," and the economy doesn't improve, he'll be down that pole, as if it's greased.
What are the odds?

You left out the expectations of the Arab world which contributed heavily to his campaign and wants payback. Obama will be tested early in the foreign affairs and defense areas because he is inexperienced and perceived as weak. As we know all too well, the Arabs equate being conciliatory with weakness.
He promised a lot to a lot of different people. How does one person have both Rashid Khalidi and Edgar Bronfman support him? If so much weren't at stake, I would enjoy sitting back and watching what he's going to do. Instead, call me concerned.
goyish', leora, thanks for the extra points. Too many people are too excited.
Nu, what are his odds of satisfying their expectations?
Shalom!
I'll answer your question with a question: When those expectations aren't satisfied, who will be blamed?
That is quite a feat Leora, Khalidi and Bronfman. Politics sure makes strange campaign teams.
Hadassa
They'll blame the Jews on the team? Is that what you're predicting?
