Israel's Left is determined to convince, brainwash the Israeli public that they should be in power, not Likud's Binyamin Netanyahu. Ironically, I complain all the time that Bibi's policies are Leftist, but the Leftist leaders here don't care about it. It's not the policies that concern them; it's the fact that his political party is Likud, not Labor, not Kadima.
Even after a few weeks of the faux social justice demonstrations, the public doesn't agree to vote Left:
Maagar Mohot poll: Likud 29 Kadima 25 (National camp 70)With university trained economist, Netanyahu in the helm, Israel's economy is doing much better than the American one. That means that the shekel is stronger than the U.S. Dollar and that is why Israeli products have gone up in price when converted into dollars. It's a sign of fiscal strength and success, not failure! Of course the Left-controlled media and politicians don't want the public to understand this simple truth. I must agree with Avigdor Lieberman and Ehud Barak in their opposition to importing foreign cheese to compete with Israeli cheese. It may help lower the price, because it would weaken the economy to import products we produce here. Also, a point being ignored by Bibi and company, the cost of certifying the cheeses as kosher would add to the price, so there wouldn't be a great bargain.

Telephone poll of a representative sample of 506 adult Israelis (including
Israeli Arabs) carried out by Maagar Mohot Survey Institute (headed by
Professor Yitzchak Katz) the week of August 1 for Makor Rishon and published
on 5 August.
If elections held today (expressed in Knesset seats)
Current Knesset seats in [brackets].

25 [28] Kadima
16 [15] Yisrael Beiteinu
11 [13] Labor (Headed by Shelly Yacimovich)

04 [04] Nat'l Union
04 [03] Meretz
03 [03] Jewish Home/NRP
09 [11] Arab parties
01 [00] Independence (Ehud Barak)
Pundits are taking bets on whether the faux social justice demonstrators will bite the bullet and establish a new political party to compete in the next elections. It's very common for new Center-Left parties to spring up and fade/fizzle out every couple of elections here in Israel. Kadima is already an old, veteran party. Labor and Meretz are burnt out. So, most people wouldn't be surprised at all if a new political party appears out of the trash left at the
Smith Poll: New socioeconomic party would get 20 seats but National campThe biggest loser would be Kadima. Considering that Kadima is a relatively new political party on the Israeli scene, full of opportunists who ran from other parties, how many would again jump ship and join this new one--if it does announce itself?
remains in power with 63 seats and Meretz destroyed

Oops.
Another dream flushed down the toilet.
Creating a new party led by the current leaders of the housing protests to
exploit all the media hyped social protest would result in Netanyahu
remaining in power and Meretz out of the Knesset.
And this at the peak of the social protest movement.

'With university trained economist, Netanyahu in the helm, Israel's economy is doing much better than the American one.'
Hi Batya,
You seem to hold that as a plus for Netanyahu.I see it as an extreme negative.
Where do the youth of America and Israel get brainwashed and reshaped into the image of Nimrod and the EVIL Babel 2 Globalist agenda ?
I've watched the devious MIT grad Netanyahu pull the wool over the stupid voters eyes too many times with his eloquent speeches which turn into lies quickly.
Who follows a confirmed liar but a deceived and naive soul ?
The same way Mr. Skull and Bone's Yale grad George Wicked Bush did to the naive Christian voters in America twice,so has the charlatan Bibi done to Israel.
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but Israel's mirror image of America Babylon is a curse on that nation.
Israel does not need to listen to God they have America to listen to.
This is why the G-d of Israel will shortly remove this idol from Israel's heart and soul.
It's easy to see that the level of misery, economic turmoil and upheaval of every nation which has called for dividing the land of Israel is only growing.
Those who are always bashing Israel and giving a pass to the intolerant and blooodthirsty death cult had a bad night in London.
This growing global curse of genesis 12:3 is exploding as we see with the Arab Sting ,there is no spring about it as we find in Yezekiel 35.
The same can be said for the rebels of Israel who have sided against the will of God for a Palestinian state.
God is always separating, judging between His people as we saw with the Dathan and Abiram rebels, brothers Jacob and Esau,Mekel Shaul and David and on and on.
There is no unity possible betwen the darkness and the light ,those Jews who imitate the pagan goyim, the wicked and those who fear God. They are in serious trouble.
He is shaking everything ,the whole earth including Israel and will soon have the undivided attention of His remnant in Israel.

“Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD are on the sinful kingdom,(America Babylon)
And I will destroy it from the face of the earth;
Nevertheless, I will not totally destroy the house of Jacob,”
Declares the LORD.
9 “For behold, I am commanding,
And I will shake the house of Israel among all nations
As grain is shaken in a sieve,
But not a kernel will fall to the ground.
10 “All the sinners of My people will die by the sword,
Those who say, ‘The calamity will not overtake or confront us.’

Marcel, please cut the preaching. It's not welcome here.
As a down to earth pragmatist, as much as I disagree with Bibi, I'd take him over Obama any day.
Batya,
You just don't get it.
With the bibster you get Obama, howbeit in adjusted doses.
I hope that wasn't too preachy.
Thanks again for encouraging me to start my own blog so many years ago.
We'll just have to disagree.
good luck with your blog
Ah, that Marcel.
