B"H, we safely finished Yom Kippur. I didn't notice anyone fainting in our synagogue. The dovening was wonderful, inspiring.
I took a walk after eating and saw lots of families busy working on building their succot. Other neighbors were buying their "4 species" for the Succot holiday. After repenting last year's sins we want to start filling our slates with mitzvot, good deeds.

When building Succot, everyone please take into consideration that there are neighbors who have children who go to sleep early, as well as parents themselves who call it a day at a reasonable hour.

Yes, Shy, good point. This year there's really no excuse to work banging the succah together so late. There are weekdays only between Yom Kippur and Succot.
Keli, yes, we have had noisy neighbors for decades. We live in a very religious neighborhood and some people never give a thought about using power tools or hammering nails into 2 by 4s outside after midnight.
Batya, the halachic concept of Gezel Sheina (depriving someone of sleep) does not differentiate between years when Yom Kippur falls out on Shabbat or a weekday.
Shy, of course, but excuses are excuses. Maybe prepare a Halacha page about the issue and post it, like the chareidim do.

For me, the bottom line of both discourses is obvious:
"I was told that Rav Chaim Kanievsky says it is assur m'din v'ahavata l'reiacha komocha."
Yes, there are a lot of examples for that halacha.
