I Was Relieved That Trump Wasn't Assasinated

Am I the only one who was in suspense wondering if something awful would happen to Donald Trump on the way to the White House? If you google assassinate trump meme, you'll get some really awful things.

There was much too much talk about the legal implications of a Trump death before inauguration and how that could give Hillary Clinton the presidency. CNN is in hot water over a piece they broadcast,  CNN Runs Story Imagining Trump & Entire Cabinet Are Assassinated & It’s Not Going Over Well.

Such an event/tragedy would be very bad for United States of America. It's not a matter of Trump vs Hillary, it's a matter of an assassin trying to change the legal result of elections. I don't remember reading articles explaining how to prevent a "president-elect" taking office like the ones that have been in the media since last November. They frighten me. I'd expect it in one of the unstable countries in other parts of the world, not the United States of America.

Relax, maybe Donald Trump will surprise you for the better...

It would not have given Hillary Clinton the presidency. And it's surprising that they would even speculate on that.

If the president-elect dies before inauguration, I think there are laws governing who would succeed him/her. It would be logical that Vice President-Elect Pence would then take the oath of office.

There is an order of succession in case of multiple vacancies, including Speaker of the House, President Pro Tem of the Senate, and the Cabinet secretaries in order of the founding of their department. I'm not sure whether this applies in an unlikely event between Election Day and the inaugural.

But anyone who would speculate that Hillary Clinton would somehow become the next president should Trump die before the inaugural is engaging in wishful thinking--and the proper response would be "GET OVER IT!"

True, thanks for clarifying. This feeling of anarchy going on in the states is so dangerous. Yes, they should just "GET OVER IT!"
