My personal version of it includes that Arabs who are willing (sign papers) to obey the laws (including Israeli school curriculum) and do some sort of national service can get citizenship. Those who refuse can't.
The vast majority of the Arabs here are descended from those who were attracted to this then barren land only after the beginning of the Zionist Movement's return of the Jewish People to here. So, to tell you the truth, they are no more veteran than we Jews are. The big difference s are that:
- They never asked for permission from any foreign body.
- They have no nationalist history here. The only nation, independent country here over the centuries was Jewish.
- Judaism predates both Christianity and Islam.

Hear, hear! I have stated this, annexing all the land captured in the 6-Day War, from the beginning of my blogging days, as well as requiring the Arabs who want to stay to study Jewish history, learn Hebrew, and sign a loyalty oath to the JEWISH state of Israel.

Loyalty oath, thanks I left it out or didn't make it clear. That's exactly it. All self-respecting countries demand it from all new citizens and we should, too.
I basically agree with you, Batya, but would modify this:
Those who refuse can't.
I would say, anyone refusing a loyalty commitment [oath] should be shown or "escorted" his way to the border, never to come back!
You never answered my question on the other post - what's happening in Shiloh? Is everyone OK?
