Because of The War

Taking a little break from election fever here.

I'm referring to the war in Lebanon, two and a half years ago. Because of that war, I didn't post too many pictures from the Nefesh B'Nefesh flight I took back to Israel. Actually, arriving at the tail-end of the war, I was distracted by worries. My son was one of the soldiers, miraculously saved.

And then a couple of weeks after I got back, my Cousin Mickey, ZaTza"L passed away. B"H, I had just seen him.

Just recently, I discovered that I had interviewed an oleh, new immigrant, who is now a well-known jblogger. So I decided to take the opportunity to look for pictures. Maybe you'll recognize the jblogger. If so, please comment your guess. And if you recognize any other olim, please let me know who and how they're doing. Thanks

Do you recognize this oleh chadash who is now a famous jblogger?

Yes, it's the standup comedian, Benji Lovitt!

Hey, who's the guy in the orange shirt? And what happened to all his hair?

Orange shirt? Hmm...

Hey, Benji. What's with your attachment to the color orange?

Are you some kind of right wing extremist or something?

I like carrots. Especially in Gush Katif.

I didn't know that Gush Qatif, otherwise known as Southern Azza was known for its carrots.

Before this Shmitah {7th of 7 year cycle} year Rav Nahman Kahane {Rav Meir David's HY"D brother} was asked whether one could eat vegetables grown by Arabs in Azza. {The question was whether it was permissible to support our enemies financially.}

He said yes, but first you have to soak and salt them,...in order to remove the Jewish blood they came out of.

I kid you not.

Of course I recognize Benji, the famous blogger in the orange shirt! But I actually can name the two people in the following pictures as well. Those are former Five-Towners now living in Israel.

Baila, it's funny that I hadn't realized that I had interviewed Benji. By googling his name he found my post, wrote to me and then I went through the pictures. How are the other olim doing?

Ya'aqov, I like that psak!
