Israeli MFA uses MK Ayelet Shaked Image to Promote "Gaza Occupation" Counterpoint

I don't know who drew and designed this hasbara, Israeli formation campaign cartoon, but the Israeli spokesperson is a dead-ringer for NRP aka Jewish Home Knesset Member Ayelet Shaked.

The voice, unfortunately, sounds very mid-20th century Bell's operator or old-fashioned schoolteacher.  Though the style they have her dressed in is rather flaky, with a cropped top showing a bare midriff. I guess that's the image of Israel the Foreign Ministry wants to promote.

In all honesty, I don't like this cartoon, especially not the way the message it is being promoted. I also don't like the use of the  term "legal Palestinians government"

Here is is, what do you think?

"You may have heard claims that Israel's occupation of the Gaza Strip is the reason for hostilities in the region. Is this fact or fiction? Well, guess what: Israel DOES NOT occupy Gaza. It left Gaza in 2005, pulling out all its soldiers and leaving all its settlements. So who DOES occupy Gaza? Hamas. In 2007, this terrorist organization attacked the legitimate Palestinian Authority government and violently seized control of Gaza. It has ruled since then by force and without elections. Hamas turned the Gaza Strip into a terrorist base and uses its population as human shields."
I think that we are getting into points that can backfire on us. By just concentrating on the Gaza occupation issue, it's admitting that we are the "occupation power" over Judea, Samaria, the Jordan Valley and the Golan.

And the big truth is that the world isn't interested in the facts and truth. Those countries and people and NGOs against us won't budge from their beliefs no matter how much history, facts or how attractive and youthful the speaker is. This Ayelet Shaked lookalike would be more influential recommending or promoting an amusement park, not explaining facts and history to a staid, suited, bespectacled guy like in the cartoon.

If you want to read something more serious about the so-called "occupation," recommend Evelyn Gordon's latest.

The blunt truth is something much of the world either does not know about or sweeps under the carpet.
That Eretz Yisrael was given to us by Hashem.
And historically, we ruled it for over 1000 years until Rome invaded and took it from us.
But bring this up in an argument and people claim that it is all "Too long ago" or "A myth".
We should not be scared to keep repeating the truth even in the face of the organized anti Semitic campaign to delegitamise Israel.

While the cartoon is effective in refuting Israel's occupation of Gaza, another message is given that is completely false: Gaza became a security problem after the takeover by Hamas. I lived in Gaza (Gush Katif) for 13 years all under the authority of the terrorist group Fatah led by "moderates' Abu Mazen and Arafat y's. Incessantly, we were sniped at, ambushed on roads, hacked with knives and axes, mortared and rocketed (S'derot as well) and even faced donkeys loaded with explosives - all this BEFORE Hamas took over. The problem is not Hamas, as the cartoon implies, it's Gazan arabs.

It is really necessary to make the point that bloodshed is minimized by Israeli domination, and there is no kind of peace agreement that could work that does not have Israeli domination in it. (that's what demilitirization means)

It may be a little bit harder to explain why this is so, but you can say something about the diseased political culture in the Arab world.

You do not need to explain why the Israeli political culture is not so diseased, but you can say it is a natural tendency of a political culture to become diseased, and healthy political cultures are really the exception. Lord Acton and all.

And we have some really bad actors in the Middle East trying to make sure things are bad. Hamas is not really a Palestinian organization, in other words.

Trying to avoid the subject, or not explaining it at all, makes for trouble in the end.

Of course most Israeli political leaders don't quote understand this themselves.

Israsel is opposed because there are regimes in the Middle East that are afraid that the Israeli (and American) political culture might infect their countries. So they need, at aminimum, boycotts.

Honestly, Israel doesn' want the whole truth out about its really belonging to the Jewish people, given to us by Hashem. They're promoting this cartoon because they want to get rid of Hamas (thank G-D, for that at least) but they have the same agenda as the rest of the West. That's to first put the Fatah in control, etc., etc. They are only pushing what they have to - we know that; that is why the grassroots needs to wake up and tell the truth as the above commenters and even moreso. But, as much as the truth gets out to the anti-semites, it doesn't matter; they just need to hate us and try to prevent the Jews from reclaiming its Homeland.
