How Can A "Rabbi For Human Rights" Confront A Jewish Farmer Protecting His Land?

"Perverse" is the cleanest word I can think of to describe that self-proclaimed rabbi for human rights involved in the attack on my neighbors, the Jewish farmers in Shiloh this morning.

It's obvious that Eric Ascherman's group isn't interested in human rights or they wouldn't be stealing from and destroying Jewish farms.

Ya'akov Sharvit and Moshe Moshkowitz, whose property was destroyed by Eric Ascherman and his Arab followers, are veteran farmers in Shiloh.  They have raised fruit and flowers for export.  They have been cultivating the Land here in Shiloh for decades.

Every week Ya'akov delivers pomegranate juice for my father.  Ya'akov, who had to be hospitalized after the attack, is a cancer survivor.  No doubt, G-d willing, he'll find the strength to survive this, too.

And no doubt that Eric Ascherman is a dangerous Jew-hating hypocrite.  Any Jew who accompanies Arabs to attack Jews and their property is no rabbi.  They should all be jailed.  That's what the Israeli Government does to Jews who do less.  Let Ascherman and crew pay for their crimes.

History shows that there have been a number of frauds who call themselves "rabbi" illegitimately. This occurred in the 1840's in the United States. Also look at Shabtai Tzvi and his effect on the Jewish people. This guy sounds like another snake oil salesman,

If I remember correctly, this Mr. Ascherman claims to be a "reform rabbi". He wears a big crocheted kippah and leaves his tzitzit hanging out, but he defines himself as "reform". His religious appearance is especially damaging. If I've confused Ashcherman with someone else, sorry, but there is a "rabbi" that fits the description.
Refuah shelemah.

I don't know anything about his past, but at present, he's a criminal.

Rabbi or not I hope and pray he's arrested. Him and his band of Arab accomplices.

Even Reform rabbis have smicha. This guy could just be a self-styled "rabbi" who feels because he's a teacher and has followers (ie. Arabs) that makes him a "rabbi."

Not unlike JC who went on a rampage in the temple.

It was my understanding that alternative rabbis don't use the term smicha

What kind of a 'rabbi' leads a group which attacks and injures a sixty year old man and cannot even express the slightest remorse for the harm inflicted one by his group on a senior? The story is now up on Ynet News and apparently the 'human rights activists' are whining about a camera being confiscated by the IDF rather than the man who was injured....Perverse – your too kind Batya.

Batya is very kind.

I won't be so kind for a real or fake rabbi that would injure an elderly man and damage his property and source of income--

Such a person is a total reprobate.

These criminals who pretend to care about others are like the animal rights groups who condemned the Jewish Israeli DP's from Gush Katif for leaving their dogs.

JDL, careful what you write. I may have to delete the comment. The true rewards and punishments are in Olam Haba.

I only speak this way because of my righteous indignation towards those who wish to harm us. I use work in law enforcement many years ago ... I still have an 'edge'. Had I seen 'what's his name' out there doing what he did, I would of had a 'flashback' ... If it sounds personal it's because it is ... remember I told you I was there and it had a profound effect on me and still does. That said,I will heed your warning.

Shabbat Shalom

Just to set the record straight...
I personally know of people who wanted to take their pets with them from Gush Katif and were not allowed to by the expulsion forces. This includes dogs and fish in aquariums. Also many of the "pets" later rescued by the animal rights people were probably not pets at all, but strays - sometimes fed leftovers - or even dogs belonging to Arabs.
I'll get even farther off the subject now, and then leave. About the same time as the expulsion a zoo somewhere in Israel had to be relocated. The authorities decided to plant trees five years in advance so that the animals would have an easy acclimation.

Thanks for the clarification.
Yes, I can't imagine a hotel allowing pets.
