"Eight Weeks" Is A Long Time

Headlines are blaring that Olmert's days are numbered, that in 8 weeks, Olmert will be voted out of Kadima's leadership.

Don't count your chickens before they're hatched.
Olmert is one of the world's most wily politicians, and we must never forget it. Never underestimate him.

Shalom!
Yes indeed, eight weeks is a long time...
Isn't Olmert another Shimon Peres? Every time we think we're going to be free of him, he sneaks back into politics. Too bad all those hareidim believed Olmert when he lied to them years ago and voted him in as mayor of Jerusalem.

Olmert won't be gone in eight weeks, he'll wiggle his way out of this somehow.

Apparently Olmert is now offering to take a lie detector test.

The problem with polygraphs is that pathological liars and psychotics can and do pass them with flying colors.

I guess the only thing voters can use to gauge a politician's honesty is his or her past practice.

Exactly. The problem is how naive and forgetful the public is.
