I love the joke/story in the Dry Bones comments by Elias:
“Recession is when your neighbor loses his job. Depression is when you lose yours. And recovery is when Jimmy Carter loses his.” ― Ronald ReaganI try to be careful in terms of my comments about American politics, and I was born, raised in the states and have American citizenship. What right do these American celebrities have to use their fame to try to force Israeli public opinion to follow their far Left ideology?
Just replace Jimmy Carter with Barack Obama to update it!
"Frank Costanza may have famously asked for “serenity now” on Seinfeld, but George Costanza, also known as comedian Jason Alexander, plans to promote peace between Israel and the Palestinian Authority at a conference in the Knesset titled “The Knesset and the Nation: A debate in the aftermath of the Schalit deal” on Monday afternoon. These American entrepreneurs and entertainers should mind their own business, not only as an idiom. The United States is suffering serious unemployment and manufacturing is not increasing; importing and outsourcing are. There's plenty for them to do at home. They shouldn't interfere with our security, our future. They haven't a clue and won't pay the price for their mistakes. Yes, I did see that Yoel Hasson of the Kadima Party is hosting them. Kadima is the party of opportunism, no surprise. They're into make-believe, so foreign celebrities are just their speed to try to bamboozle the Israeli public.
...Alexander is part of a delegation of more than 30 entrepreneurs and entertainers from the US visiting Israel with the “One Voice” campaign. The group will be hosted by MK Yoel Hasson (Kadima), the head of the Knesset Caucus to Promote the Two-State Solution and Separation Between Israel and the Palestinians..."
I'm not buying!

Kind of silly to compare Israel and the U.S. Israel's population is smaller than a major metropolitan region of the U.S. and there are parts of the U.S. that are doing well, the Washington D.C. area for one. Unemployment is low, housing prices are high, and it's all due to the federal government's spending. Oh wait...
each and every country should mind their own business and take care of their own countries. with the wall street protests going beyond control and with signs of socialism in it, i think the US should have more than enough on their hands and stopping interfering. if the americcan indians were to ask back their lands i wonder what would happen?
if the british had not interfered in india and colonised it, then left with a division that follows their typcial divide and rule, india would be wholesome and there will not be talk of land for peace.
Unbeliever, the U.S. govt takes care of its own, but the total economy is the pits. But you're the unbeliever, so you don't care about facts.
a, I don't compare native Americans to the situation here in Israel. There's a long Jewish connection, thousands of years, same people, religion etc that no one else can claim, including the Arabs.
Don't buy it for a second. I don't know much about Jason Alexander but the majority of Hollywood celebrities are anti-Israel.
OT but I thought you might like this video/skit since you were a teacher. It adorable, and I get help but hope/wish some Israeli school children were taught some of the things in the video.

Thanks, Keli, I wish the kids learned it. It's from a Leftist satire show.
