united, yes united

It's agreed by many that some changes must be made here in Israel, especially on the political scene. Some think that a united religious party is the solution, but that's not unity in the large sense. That's separation. That has been our problem, each sector supporting itself.

Our prayers are in the plural--"we," "our"

And our politics should unite the entire nation. Religious, "non," in between, YESHA, Tel Aviv, Eilat, the Gallil, everyone, everywhere.

That's the solution.

ALL WHO LOVE AM YISRAEL AND ERETZ YISRAEL MUST WORK TOGETHER TO SAVE OUR NATION!

Amen, Kein Yehi Ratzon!

However, back to politics, I saw an intersting poster this morning: it listed several parties: Shas, Aguda, Degel HaTorah, Mafdal & National Union. Then it listed their prospective "number of Knesset seats" they would get if they ran separately. Something like: 12+7+3+7 = 29 non-influential and non-united seats.

Now comes the punch line: if they were to unite into ONE PARTY, they'd get 43 seats, perhaps the leading Knesset faction!

Don't know how reliable their survey of prospective seats is, but it certainly makes you want to think about that, no?

how do you intend to get the Irreligious to unite with the Frum?

Amen, Batya.

Unity is a precursor to redemption.

For practical purposes, however, it would take a lot of hard work. It would require the non-religious Shas voters to vote for a religious party that's not necessarily Sephardic. It would require Aguda and Degel Hatora voters to vote for a party that may go against some of their principles. It would require non-religious National Union voters to start voting religious. It would require Feiglin voters to uproot everything they worked hard building.

That said, it's still worth a shot.

Instead of listing differences, let's just stress what we have in common and what's most important.

JEWS FOR ERETZ YISRAEL

ERETZ YIRAEL FOR JEWS

Yitz,
Israel Matzav thinks that 43 is a bit too optimistic.

Hey Soccer Dad,
I DID say: Don't know how reliable their survey of prospective seats is...

In any case, at least the Mafdal & Ichud Leumi are running together, perhaps that'll be more votes for the RIGHT people!!!
