BIG DEAL!Yep! After his orchestrated attacks on the United States, 9/11, Americans think they have a monopoly in being terror victims. Sorry, but you're not even close. Terrorism has existed before and after and will continue a long time. It's a form of modern warfare.
Most terrorism comes out of the Middle-East from Arabs, fact not fiction. And most terrorism is aimed at Jews, Israelis. I, myself, am a survivor of a terror attack, one that predates the notorious 9/11.
Just like the Iron Dome won't solve Israel's security problems, the death of Bin Laden won't make the world a safer place.
Bin Laden was just another terrorist leader. His big mistake was targeting the United States instead of Israel. The world doesn't give a hoot about how many Israelis, how many Jews are murdered by terrorists (or Nazis, remember that it's Holocaust Memorial Day here in Israel.)
Bin Laden did show that no country is immune, but the world didn't get the message. As long as terrorism is tolerated any place in the world, against any people, race or religion (again, including Jews) the entire world is in danger. And the establishment of a Pseudostinian aka Palestinian sic state will only make matters worse!

Spot on, Batya.
There's plenty more replacements...
Look who's in the sea now. I guess he's with the 72 virgin mermaids - - fish food.
Shalom!
It would be a big deal if it served as a deterrent, but we all know that it won't. The comparison to Iron Dome is apt.
Batya and Hadassa--
I'm thrilled to death that bin Laden is dead but you're both right. Osama has created terrorist armies. He's death won't put an end to terrorism.
Still, I'm glad we got our pound of revenge.
Interesting that Osama was killed almost a year to the day Hitler committed suicde.
You're quite right - it's no big deal. But it does make the day a little lighter, no?
I believe it was Jaime dupree from the White House that said it perfectly (I can't quote verbatum though):
It is a good thing with political ramifications".
For the Americans, who lost thousands of lives, over a trillion dollars and ten years in a futile war - it's a small consolation. (Lots of expressions of pride and thanks to US armed forces on Facebook/talkbacks). For us Jews in Israel its meaningless as we're still cursed with over 4 million arabs west of the Jordan and a multitude of terrorist leaders within and outside the Land of Israel.
Hadassa, you're so right. He was pretty much a "one shot" terrorist. We've been suffering decades of serious terrorism from the people Obama, other world leaders and the media loves.
The Arab terrorism here against us, all Israelis, predate the establishment of the state.
I'm not partying.
When Arafat was murdering his way through the Al Aksa Intifada, and Gog W. Bush would not let us execute him, I learned to care less about the fate of Osama Bin Laden. You are right: Big Deal.
Yes, and how many others were killed in the process. Remember that the Americans killed 2,000 Iraqis to give Sadam Hussein a fair trial...
Pray for the fish!
Oh, I see! Just because you have been victims of countless terrorist attacks that means you don't need to show compassion for others who are victims. How selfish!
West, good idea
Sherry, let the Americans and whoever you are support Israel's fight against terror. And we don't have to be any more compassionate than others are to us. Even though the "PA police" shot and murdered Jews whom they knew had just been praying, I didn't hear you or any Americans, Europeans etc condemn them and demand their weapons be taken away.
Sherry: If you can give me one good reason why Israel could not execute Yassir Arafat in Op. Defensive Shield (Wall) when Israeli troops had him holed up in Ramallah in the spring of 2002, I would reconsider. Arafat in his long and bloody career attacked and murdered more Jewish babies, children, and civilian adults in pre-meditated attacks than anyone since Hitler. He was a mass murderer through and through. Yet, Pres. Gog W. Bush thought it important enough to protect him from either being prosecuted in Israel or being killed on the spot. The evil dirt bag was allowed to die from Aids that he contracted from one of his many boy friends, but meeting his just end on the receiving end of an Israeli bullet was too cruel for any Western leader to contemplate. Yes, 70-80% of the Arabs who dwell on this land between the Med. and the Jordan River approve of murder against civilian targets to achieve their political goals, and were therefore in love with Arafat. In the minds of Gog and Chirac and Tony Blair, this was enough to give Arafat a pass that somehow we had to negotiate with that piece of garbage. If you can appreciate what I just wrote, great! Welcome to the human race. If you cannot appreciate it and insist that we should care about whether Bin Laden lived or died when Arafat was beloved by all, join the human garbage that makes up a good chunk of humanity and realize that you have forfeited your place in the World to Come.
Dov Bar-Leib, thanks for the excellent response.
Shalom!
Sherry, I have friends in America, non-religious and non-Jewish, who have stated exactly what Batya did. They've basically said, "Bin-Laden is dead; there's one less terrorist in the world. Now how about the others?" It is because we have compassion for ALL victims of terror, and all POTENTIAL victims, that we are warning the world not to make too big a deal out of being safe from Bin-Laden, especially since he's trained his followers.
