A Reason I Made Aliyah, Moved to Israel
I'm public school educated, New York City, then Great Neck. At some point it was made very clear to me that the United States is a Christian country. Yes, other religions are permitted, but the religious freedom in the early days was specifically for various Christian denominations, not for Judaism, Hinduism, Islam etc.
