Let's start with the good news. While most of the NU-NRP are rushing to make excuses why they should vote for the budget, MK Dr. Aryeh Eldad says:
"We must not find ourselves in a situation in which we are for sale. The public in Judea and Samaria must know that we are saying to this government, for all that it stands for, a loud and clear 'No!'"
And now for something more worrying. I didn't think it would be this bad, but no great surprise that:
The amount of weapons and explosives smuggled into the Gaza Strip since disengagement was bigger than the total amount smuggled into the strip since the Six Day War, Shin Bet head Yuval Diskin said Tuesday in a meeting of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.
Yes, and that's besides Official: Hamas involved in recent Kassam launches, which are causing more and more damage to Sderot and the Negev.
And before I get some much-needed sleep, I'd like to remind you that Jews are not trusted by the American Government. And that's one of the reasons I'm glad I've been living here 36 years. The Israeli Government is far from perfect, but it's still mine.

Baruch Hashem I didn't throw my vote away with Mafdal/NU. Their excuses for abstaining in order to get as much money as possible for their causes is pathetic. It's exactly the same reason that the Haredim used to sit in the expulsion government. I'm told that R. Elyahiv knew that the expulsion would occur with or without them, so he figured at least his yeshivot could earn a few hundred million shmeks. We all ridiculed their selling us out. We ridiculed their participation in the expulsion.
And now 'religious zionism' shows it is bankrupt. Rav Eli Sadan comes out with his booklet, then a week later, a few more rabbis decide to speak for all of religous zionists, and then only a few days later, the orange people in the knesset who are supposed to be trying to prevent the next expulsion (chas v'shalom) are using the same excuses and more: now's not the time, need to save energy for the big battle, try and get as much of Kadima's money as possible, etc...
Well, It ain't Kadima's money, it's your's and mine. Among other things, Mafdal/NU weaseled 2.5million for GK refugee projects? That's it? For 277 NIS you can buy each refugee some matkot, an artic, and a rally at the Coca Cola Nitzanim Beach. There should be an extra billion or two for GK refugees, but they abstained instead.
The battle started the night of the elections. All efforts should be made to bring down this expulsion II government, all efforts must be made at opposing this evil government who will likely repeat the Lebanon retreat and kick us all out at the same time. But we know how the knesset works. They are all friends/chums. We despise Peretz, Olmert, and the anti-semite pensioner, but the orange knesset people eat lunch with them every other day and don't want to ruffle too many feathers in the 'club'.
They do not realize that their petty political 'acheivement' merely continues to weaken the resolve of the orange people. Now's the time to pick up strength and motivation. Instead, we are playing games, and our rabbis are preparing us to take expulsion II in stride, loyalty to the state above all.
And now we have to lead ourselves, since we can't trust any of them.
