The early Zionists dreamt of a "normal" country, so a Jew could be like any other people. But is it "normal" to accept daily rocket attacks and not react? There's nothing normal about Israel. Not in the miracles of so few being murdered and injured by these attacks, and certainly not in the government's patient acceptance, that we should suffer.
