Why Not To Vote Likud and Its Puppet Parties

My antipathy to the Likud is very old, almost as old as the party itself, which is strange considering my Betar background and has nothing to do with today's politics, or does it?

Our aliyah, fifty-two 52 years ago this week was very connected to Menachem Begin's Herut Party and Betar, especially considering that we spent the greater part of our first year living in Maon Betar, the Betar Youth/Student Hostel, now known as the Plugat Hakotel building in Jerusalem's Old City. Like our friends from Betar, we joined, and are still members of, Kupat Cholim Leumit, and we became dues paying members of Herut, the Revisionist/Betar party. Herut joined with the Liberal Party making Gush Cherut Liberalim, aka GaHaL, which evolved into Likud.

In 1970, after over twenty years of independence, there was only one dominant party, Mapai/Labor, Leftist, secular and socialist. The National Religious Party, which besides having a few rabbis and a lot of kippot had similar policies and joined them religiously in their coalition governments and the Rabbinate. Only during the time of emergency just before the 1967 Six Days War had Menachem Begin and Gahal been invited to join the government.

Cracks in the close political partnership between Mapai/Labor and the NRP began to surface after the great miraculous 1967 Six Days War victory. The government and its agricultural monopoly chose which land to settle only according to financial export advantages probably chosen by Agrexco which was the export monopoly, the Golan for growing fruit and the warmer Jordan Valley and northern Sinai where melons and summer vegetables could be grown for export in the winter. The National Religious Party and its Bnai Akiva youth movement began pushing to return to its former kibbutzim in Gush Etzion, which had been destroyed by the Arabs in the War for Independence. In addition, there were attempts to settle Hebron and various locations in the Shomron because of their Jewish/Biblical importance. The government opposed such settlements and gave in on just a symbolic few.

Post Six Days War the IDF and government/military leaders were cocky and overconfident. The "conceptziah" was that the Arabs would never dare attack us again after our great victory, so we weren't at all prepared for the surprise attack on Yom Kippur 1973. After a few very difficult weeks and many dead, wounded and captured Israelis, Gd gave us another miraculous victory.

The Israeli electorate was shell-shocked, mourning and talked of not celebrating the upcoming Independence Day, but they voted for their usual parties, returning the veteran/traditional coalition to power in the elections soon after the war. Israelis have trouble changing political choices.

Polls had been showing more of the same for the 1977 elections, but when the votes were counted the pundits were totally shocked to discover that Menachem Begin's Likud had gotten the most votes. His longtime supporters were overjoyed expecting government support of new Jewish communities all over Judea and Samaria, besides the exiting ones in the Golan, Jordan Valley and Sinai. Instead of annexing all the land liberated in 1967 and promoting building Jewish communities all over, Begin crossed Mapai's redlines and offered Anwar Sadaat a Judenrein Sinai as a peace deal cheered on by US President Jimmy Carter. The homeless Jews from the Sinai were offered new communities in Gush Katif, and then a few decades later, another Likud Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, destroyed Gush Katif making a new generation of Jewish pioneers homeless. As a Likud election campaign slogan stated: "Only the Likud can..."

Here we are almost a half a century later... The religious public has changed; the National Religious Party is no more, though the backroom boys keep trying to repackage and resurrect it. We began to see more and more religious MKs, who were members of other political parties, since religious Israelis had begun to see themselves as Israelis first, free to choose a political party by ideology. I see this as a maturation of Israeli society. And on the Left, today the Labor Party is an anorexic shadow of its former self barely getting the minimum votes for Knesset representation.

During the decade plus that Binyamin Bibi Netanyahu has ruled the Likud and served as Prime Minister, the chareidi political parties give Bibi their full support in exchange for the Rabbinate. Non-chareidi Torah observant Jews are blocked. This concerns, Kashrut, conversion, marriage and many other crucial issues that affect us all.

The bottom line here is that most Likud voters actually don't like this chareidi monopoly on the Rabbinate, though they support and strengthen it with their Likud vote. The Bennett-Lapid coalition gave Matan Kahane the Ministry for Religion which controls the Rabbinate. I have no doubt that most Likud voters, if they bother checking what he has been doing, really would support him much more than the chareidi control.

Very important is to consider whether or not Binyamin Netanyahu's Likud actually promotes Right wing policies. The truth is that it doesn't, and I for one am not surprised, because I heard Bibi announce that he wouldn't. At the International Jewish Bloggers Conference in 2008, Netanyahu was the guest speaker and told us of his plans for when he would be reelected Prime Minister. I was standing barely a meter from him and heard him very clearly state that:

"as Prime Minister I will be Centrist."

Netanyahu's stated reason was that he thinks that a "national leader" should have a policy in the middle. Whatever hope and loyalty to Likud that had somehow survived Begin and Sharon's destructive policies was totally wiped out by that, as far as I'm concerned. We've seen since then how when Bibi's campaigning for votes he loves the Right label, but if you look at his policies, riddled with building freezes, Jewish community and housing destruction.

Most recently we all witnessed the despicable act of ordering his MKs to vote against the Settlement Law, because Bibi and his cronies, Likud and Chareidi MKs, have only one aim-- returning to power. They don't care whom they harm or bribe (with promises of "safe" places on the Likud list) as they do it. Their only principle is preserving their power, and they want to be back in the drivers seat.

Davka, I consider the criminal investigation of Bibi to be a political witch hunt, and I think the street demonstrations telling him to resign to be antidemocratic. There's a legal political process in a democracy, and top office should never be chosen by the police or the street. We vote.

I do see a distortion/loophole that Netanyahu has exploited to preserve power, which goes against the spirit of the law, though it's technically legal. Until Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid put together their coalition, Bibi had established a pattern of serial/perpetual power. It looked like he'd be the "interim" or  caretaker Prime Minister forever alternating with elections that didn't result in MKs who could agree on a coalition. Look carefully at what had been happening before the Bennett-Lapid agreement.

Sorry this is so long; it's the longest blog post I've written in years. I suggest clicking the links to give you more information. I welcome your questions and comments.

Apartheid, The Basis for "Two State" Solution

Looking east from Shiloh, which has a very long and well-documented Jewish History, though people all over the world want it Judenrein, clean of Jews.

Read this New Yorker interview with Michael Oren, former Israeli Ambassador to the United States, by Isaac Chotiner to get to the nitty gritty of "anti-settlement" pro-Apartheid vs Jews world view and their worship of the "Two State" solution. In Oren's favor, I must say that he seems to be evolving Rightwards in terms of policy/ideology.

When Michael Oren was first appointed as Israel's Ambassador to the USA, lots of people were concerned about his Leftist reputation, but he did well. In the New Yorker interview he didn't go far enough, as far as I'm concerned. I would have liked for him to out and out call Isaac Chotiner pro-apartheid and anti-Jewish/antisemitic. Oren wimped out; instead he just ended the interview and hung up on Chotiner.

I have a strong feeling that Chotiner hasn't a clue that he came out sounding anti-Jewish, pro-Apartheid. Oren had requested that the interview be scrapped, if I understood him correctly. If I'm not mistaken, Chotiner just edited the transcription of the interview, in which he said some ridiculous things, and Oren tried to show him his hypocrisy. I guess that Oren wanted it scrapped, because he was understandably wary about what Chotiner could do with it as an article. B"H, Chotiner chose a format that allowed Oren's words to appear without much change.

What's most disturbing to me about the interview is that Chotiner seems totally oblivious to his pro-apartheid antisemitic ideology/position. This is so typical of those who promote the so-called Palestinians. They endorse as an acceptable requirement that Jews be banned from "Palestine," and they don't think it immoral that Jews are banned from quite a number of Arab countries. For some inexplicable reason they don't see the banning of Jews as apartheid.

It's too bad that Michael Oren wasn't willing to confront Isaac Chotiner with the truth. That would have brought the interview to a much higher level. Oren should have recorded it, continued it making the truth clear and of course publicize it.

Jews are being discriminated against, and hypocrisy rules the media, diplomacy, universities etc.

The Unthinkable is Happening in The USA

This is a sad post. What I must write is not something I had ever imagined could happen in the United States of America, the USA. It's no longer Jew friendly.

Read carefully, please. I'm not saying that the USA is like Nazi Germany in the mid-late 1930's, but today unabashed antisemites* and those who support the destruction of the State of Israel have now been easily elected to the United States Congress as Democrats. The media is publishing and broadcasting even their most antisemitic statements and policies.

I find it most frightening that as smart as Jews are supposed to be, too many can't connect the dots.  The Democratic Party has gone far Left and supports a Palestinian State over the State of Israel. This has not stopped the majority of American Jews from supporting the Democratic party and its candidates. American Jewry still professes support for Israel, but they refuse to see that their support for a "State of Palestine" means the destruction of the Jewish State.

The Arabs who would govern "Palestine" are unabashedly pro terror against Jews and Israelis. Their envisioned country would be  Judenrein, cleansed of Jews. These policies won't change one iota if those Arabs had a state.

At present, convicted and jailed Arab terrorists and their families get payments from the PA-Palestinian Authority. They are also lauded as brave heroes to be idolized. Children are taught in their schools to follow those terrorists, even if it leads to death.

So, honestly, how can anyone claim to support Israel and the establishment of a Palestinian State?

In the past, American public officials would claim support for Israel at the same time that they promoted "Palestine." In the newly elected Congress, there are members who don't even bother with that carefully worded preface. They accuse Israel of being immoral and propose reducing or totally stopping all support and aid to Israel. They said this while campaigning and beforehand.

You can check it in all the news sites. I can't bear to quote them on my blog.

I have two requests:

  1. Americans, please connect the dots. Recognize that support for Palestine means the destruction of the State of Israel. There can never be a Two State Solution, sic. Palestine=terror and instability for the region and the world.
  2. American Jews, your welcome mat in the USA is badly ripped and won't be replaced or repaired all that soon. It's time to move again. I suggest moving to Israel for many reasons. Contact Nefesh B'Nefesh to consult with them.

*And please don't give me the double-talk about Arabs being semites, so an Arab or pro-Arab can't be anti semitic. I specifically wrote the term antisemite as one word which means "The hatred of Jews; an antisemite is one who promotes policies discriminating and/or endangering Jews and Jewish life."

Israel was Established to Be The Jewish State

Honestly, I don't understand what the hullabaloo is all about concerning the Jewish Nation-State Law. The State of Israel was established for one reason only, to be a Jewish State, THE JEWISH STATE.

The State of Israel is the modern revival of ancient kingdoms, which are documented in the Bible. That is the very same Bible which not only is the basis for Judaism, but it is also recognized as accurate and holy for Christians. That is the very same Bible which which is used by western countries for swearing honesty, in court and important ceremonies.

The Jewish Religion and Prayers repeat over and over that Jerusalem is the holiest city and we pray to return to it in all its glory.

Jews from all over the diaspora have followed the same religion for two thousand years.

Jews have always made an effort to return to or visit the Land of Israel, the Holyland. This is all very well documented.

During the over two thousand years since the destruction of our Second Holy Temple, discrimination, banning of Judaism and killing of Jews took place all over the world. The Spanish Inquisition and the Nazi Holocaust are well-known examples of that. But actually it continues today in almost all Arab countries. They are judenrein, cleansed of Jews, even in those countries that once had vibrant Jewish communities.

Modern Zionism is just the political version of the religious return to the Land of Israel. The foundations of the State of Israel, political and economic began with that movement, which coincided with the rise of European nationalism in the nineteenth 19th century.

There is nothing actually new or revolutionary in the Jewish Nation-State Law. It just restates the obvious. Israel is the Jewish State and was established in the Biblical Land of Israel for that very purpose. I, like many others, left the Christian United States of America, because I wanted to live in the Jewish State, no other. If someone here in Israel doesn't want to live in the Jewish State, they can just look for a country that fits their national and religious identity. I with them luck in their new life.

Disengagement Part 2, Something Unexpected

Here's Part 2 of my Disengagement series. See Opening Old Wounds, Disengagement, Part 1.

Nitzan, Gush Katif Memorial, The "price" of Disengagement

Last Friday, early during my visit with Menachem Begin Heritage Center employees to the Gush Katif Visitors Center in Nitzan, suddenly something hit me. I hadn't thought of it before at all.

I'll never forget how during the horribly tense times before the forced evacuation of Jewish communities and homes actually happened, I corrected those saying that it was a matter of 8,000 (whatever the exact number) families. I kept saying that we had to stop the precedent of Disengagement to protect Jewish life in Judea, Samaria, the Golan and Jordan Valley, even later on the rest of the State of Israel.

It was just too clear to me that a successful sic destruction would whet the appetite of those who were against Jewish life/communities in all of these places to destroy even more. And in the first flush of Disengagement, during the rule of Ehud Olmert, if I remember correctly, there was an announcement that the new maps had been drawn, and lists of the next communities to go...

Yes, I remember a government official/minister on television, looking drunk with the power of life & death happily announcing that more of the Land of Israel would be judenrein very shortly. And that included Shiloh, which then was considered small, unimportant and isolated.

But here we are over a decade later thriving. Gush Shiloh has grown enormously, as have most other Jewish towns, communities and cities in Judea/Samaria.

Despite the precision/efficiency of the army in dragging people from their homes, packing their possessions and bulldozing the houses, schools and more, the country was ripped apart and in pain by the sight of IDF solders crying and obviously traumatized by their cruel orders.

The government had put more effort into planning the destruction of Gush Katif and the Northern Shomron yishuvim included in Disengagement, than in the "day after." There were prefabricated homes set up for only a small fraction of the families. Others were crowded into small hotel rooms and rented apartments. And don't forget that the Arab terrorists in Gaza reacted to the proclamation of Disengagement, the destruction of Gush Katif by launching rockets at Israel's south. This had been going on from before the actual destruction.

Over time, as the victims of Disengagement, slowly and painfully tried to rebuild their lives, talk of destroying mine and my neighbors got softer and softer. The true price of Disengagement was/is a lot higher than the State of Israel had ever imagined it could be.

Some of the Left still pays lip service to the idea that our communities can be easily destroyed for a "peace sic agreement," but as second and even third generation Jews in Judea/Samaria build homes here reality mocks their plans.

It becomes clearer every day that Disengagement was a cruel, evil mistake. It certainly didn't bring peace, and it may have kept Arik Sharon out of "jail." But Gd then took away his power in a stroke to remind us all Who's really in charge. Davka, the ramifications in terms of Jewish life in Judea and Samaria are something else. Disengagement showed the State of Israel that we aren't chess pieces that can be easily manipulated.

My biggest complaint about the "message" from the Gush Katif Visitors Center is that when they listed communities where people moved to, they leave out the Netzarim group in Ariel and all of the many in various yishuvim of Judea/Samaria. That inaccuracy makes it very clear that the leadership didn't and don't see us all as one group with the same needs, but that would be another blog post, not as upbeat.

PA Covered With "Teflon"

Shiloh Hakeduma, Tel Shiloh

The acceptance and promotion of the PA-Palestinian Authority by numerous countries and international organizations is totally irrational, unless you are willing to recognize the inherent antisemitism which is even stronger than the history of terrorism of the PA.
PA joins more international organizations
Nobody lets simple facts and history get in their way of their enthusiasm for this corrupt administrative body.

  • There never was a Palestinian people.
  • There never was a country called Palestine.
The so-called Palestine was invented to block the Jewish return to our historic Holy Land. The British who were supposed to facilitate a Jewish State during the period of the Mandate did everything in their power to invent an alternative. That's why they invited the Hashemites to take over Transjordan, which was far from the Hashemites' own land.

The easiest thing to prove about the Arabs is their violence and terrorism against both Jews and Christians. That's why if you look at the demographics, you'll see that the only country in the middle east that isn't rapidly losing their Christian population is Israel. And the only country that gives full human and religious rights to all is Israel. Most of the Arab countries, including Jordan, are judenrein. That's the Nazi term for "Jew free," no Jews allowed.

While it's so easy to prove a Jewish connection to Jerusalem and the rest of the Land of Israel, the world keeps trying to invent an Arab narrative to compete.

Many kingdoms, nations etc occupied the land here, but only the Jewish People had an independent kingdom here.

Israel-Jordan were Supposed to be Like India-Pakistan, But...

The Indian Ambassador to Israel, Mr. Pavan Kapoor, on far left, at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center. Next to him is American Ambassador to Israel, David Friedman.
A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I attended a diplomatic reception, plus panel discussion at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center. On the panel was the Indian Ambassador to Israel, Mr. Pavan Kapoor.

Before the panel began, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu greeted the honored guests and made a point of saying that Israel and India were established at the same time, India in 1947 and Israel in 1948. It was as I heard him say that when the seeds of this article began to sprout.

Both the Indian subcontinent and Mandate for Palestine had been ruled by Great Britain. Both areas had sizable and violent Muslim populations.

The experts of the time decided to segregate the populations by religion. In the Indian subcontinent two countries, one for Hindus and the other for Muslims, were established. And, yes, this required in some places massive and difficult population transfer. They exist today in rather peacefully, India and Pakistan.

Things were handled slightly differently in  the area called "Palestine." One of the reasons is that in 1921 Great Britain handed the Hashemite Abdullah a very large portion of Mandated Palestine to invent a kingdom for him, all of the land east of the Jordan River. It became known as the Emirate of Transjordan. The "minor" fact that Britain had been mandated by the League of Nations to facilitate the establishment of a Jewish state was ignored.

The Hashemites had a very difficult time ruling and keeping the peace, even though the veteran population was rather nomadic and very poor. That required Great Britain to continue to play a strong role in propping them up financially and militarily until very recently.

Post-World War Two, at the same time when Britain gave up the Indian subcontinent and India and Pakistan were established, it was also time for them to finally promote the establishment of a Jewish state.

Of course, the simple solution would have been for Britain to complete what they had begun over twenty years earlier, transfer the non-Jewish population to the Moslem Hashemites and allow the Jewish Zionists to build and develop their country in the area from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea. But they promoted a new Arab country instead, which they wanted to call Palestine. But there was no such people, history, leadership etc.

Instead, very tiny, disconnected and completely nonviable portions of land were allocated by the newly established United Nations to the Jewish State. Jews were transferred from other areas, but Arabs (Muslims and Christians) were told to stay put. The population transfer was one-sided, which gave a judenrein section to the proposed non-Jewish country while the so-called Jewish state would be forced to include a large antagonistic and extremely violent population. Basically, the Jewish state was established to deconstruct, fail miserably and quickly. In order to speed up the process, Britain armed and supported the Arab uprising, once David Ben-Gurion declared Israeli Independence.

And today we are still suffering from these decisions, policies and events.

Déjà Vu, Like in The Days Of "Judges"

My chevruta, study partners, and I are repeating Matan's Al Haperek program in which we learn Na"Ch, meaning the Prophets and Writings Sections of the Bible. We enjoyed It so much when the program was running that we decided to repeat it on our own. We finished Joshua and now we're up to Shoftim, Book of Judges.

Learning the Bible puts a very good perspective on today's political situation here in Israel. Certain things get repetitive. I'm not talking about the sins here. I'm talking about conquering the Land. We notice that some cities end up being conquered more than once. Apropos to the fact that we're a half a century, yes a full fifty years, since the miraculous 1967 Six Days War, way back when the Jewish People had to reconquer Land, meaning go to war again for a very simple reason.

Conquering is one thing, but it doesn't change facts on the ground unless you keep the mitzvah of yishuv ha"Aretz, live in the Land, build homes, cities, plant vineyards etc. That's part of  being sovereign.

Unfortunately, successive Israeli Governments have intentionally left most of the Land we liberated in 1967 judenrein, empty of Jews. In addition it hasn't been fully annexed and made part of sovereign Israel. That's why we're under diplomatic and terrorist attack.

It's not enough to have a miraculous victory of Biblical proportions. We must use the Land for the good of the Jewish People. Gd willing, speedily in our days...

Why do we relegate ourselves to the  Kotel?

Bibi's Land Policies Bad For Jews

Even though the Israeli media and "world public opinion" insist on labeling our Prime Minister as "Right," the truth is that his policies are far to the Left of the Israeli political spectrum. I can easily admit that he can give a great speech, which even echoes the basic principles of what's considered Right policies. But the truth is in actions and not words. And when it comes to actions, or policies, there's nothing Right about Prime Minister Binyamin Bibi Netanyahu.

Here in 21st Century Israel the key to judging/measuring Right/Left on the political spectrum is one's policies and attitude to the Land of Israel, statehood and sovereignty.  In a nutshell that means that if someone is in favor of Jews living, building and being sovereign in the Land of Israel, ignoring the 1949 Armistice lines, then he/she is on the Right. If one sees a legal holiness or eternal permanence in those lines and consider them as a border between an "Israel of all its citizens" and a judenrein apartheid Arab state called "Palestine" or "West Bank of Jordan," then he/she is on the Left.

Bibi is a pretty smooth speaker and could have been a hell of a used car salesman, but we've heard his lies a few times too often. Those "like new" cars are lemons with doctored records.

While Bibi keeps on touting the hundreds of Jewish homes he has approved for building, they are the same ones that were approved years ago but never built.  Bibi doesn't play those games with the Arabs. They have a new city called Rawabi, and now even on land that was supposed to be for Jewish only building, Jews can't get permits but Arabs can:
FIVE PALESTINIANS CITIES TO EXPAND INTO AREA C
I'm not being paranoid!

Why are we Jews being held back? Why hasn't the new Amona been brought here?

Bibi has promised that a new community will be built southeast of Shiloh. There will be special "incentives" for the Amona community, and it will also be open for other Jewish families. We are waiting. Words won't help. We want action!

Peace Agreement With the Arabs? Stop Beating a Dead Horse

credit

I don't know about you, but I consider myself pretty pragmatic.
When "A" is willing to do pretty much anything other than kill itself for an agreement, and "B" offers nothing other than "A"'s death, you'd think "A" would take the hint and realize that "B" does not want to live in peace with "A."
That's the situation here with Israel and the nearby Arabs.

This "conflict" has been going on for a lot longer than fifty years. It didn't start in 1967. Actually it didn't even start in 1948.

Here, in the Land of Israel, when the Zionist Movement first began, when Jews began coming and trying to reclaim and work the Land, the Land was desolate, deserted and looking anything but fertile. There were some poverty-stricken primitive villages and cities, which housed Jews, Moslems and Christians. A few nomads wandered around eaking out minimal existence. But on the whole, besides Jews coming to die here and religious pilgrims, Jews and Christians coming to pray, the Arabs, Bedouin, Muslims and Druze were more interested in emigrating to greener pastures.

Since Jews began coming here to live, rather than die, there have been two results:

  1. Arabs, with the support of most of the world, have protested by attacking, terrorizing and killing the Jews. They demand that the Land be judenrein, clean of Jews!
  2. The improved economy here have attracted Arabs to stay and to immigrate.
So, you see that there's no way that we can convince the Arabs to negotiate a peace with us.  Basic, simple if you just listen to what they are saying and watch what they are doing:
PA: 'Palestine' will be free of 'settlers'
Abbas's spokesman says the PA is determined to establish a Palestinian state free of "settlers".

Anti-Israel Hypocrisy Reigns

There is no apartheid in Israel. Arabs, Jews of all races, Christians, Muslims, Bahais, Druze etc. all live in Israel.

  • All live with full rights in Israel.
  • All can study in universities, together in the same classes.
  • All get the same medical care.
  • All are allowed to worship according to their own precepts.
FOPWA
Protests like these are anti-semitic lies.

But if you want to talk about apartheid in the Middle East, there are many countries and a notorious "district" that practices it unabashedly. They discriminate against one religion, and that religion is not Islam. It's Judaism.

Jews are forbidden to live as Jews in Jordan, the PA-Palestinian Authority and many other places, but for some fokokt antisemitic reason, nobody calls that apartheid.

The United Nations, United States, European Union etc. all support making large parts of the Land of Israel Judenrein.  Judenrein means "clean of Jews," which is a form of apartheid, plain and simple. There is no logical way to dress it up into anything else, but somehow when it comes to anti-Jewish apartheid people refuse to accept/admit the truth. It's so easy to see how the Holocaust happened without any international protests as the anti-Jewish discrimination laws got more and more vicious morphing into death camps. It's a miracle that there were still Jews alive in Europe when the war ended, because saving Jews was not part of the Allied Forces battle plan.

International antisemitism is getting worse, and I can't see an improvement at all. Universities all over the world have accepted and teach the lie that Israel is an apartheid state that stole land from Arabs. This can't be rolled back. I'm very pessimistic about the future. I feel safest in Israel. Here, at least, I can still blog the truth.

War of Words Must Be Fought, Too

I'm glad and relieved to see that the Israeli Government is paying attention to the non-military attacks on Israel.
BILL BANNING BOYCOTTERS FROM ISRAEL BECOMES A LAW
It's about time, better late than never, for sure.

Unfortunately, even close to seventy 70 years after the establishment of the State of Israel, which had davka been approved by a majority of the members of the United Nations on November 29, 1947, there is a large international movement questioning and attacking our legitimacy. Their weapons may be "words," but those words bring financial resources to Arab terrorists who kill, maim and terrorize innocent Jews.

It is now a full twenty-one 21 years since I was injured in a terror attack while waiting for a bus (or ride-depending on which would come first) in Jerusalem. Yes, I, too, among many Israelis and visitors, am a victim of Arab terror.

Location of "my Arab terror attack" as it looks today.
French Hill, Givat Hamivtar, Jerusalem
I was injured along with about twenty others, and a woman was murdered.
Today there is a very "sophisticated" war being waged against Israel by so-called "humanitarian" groups which incredibly see the humanity in terrorists, but look at Israelis like myself as terrible monsters. Their perversion of morality, history and facts is very dangerous.

Many, attacks, demonstrations, boycotts and riots are instigated and supported by foreigners who come to "help" the Arabs. Israel is safer to keep them out. Their ultimate aim is the destruction of the State of Israel and replacing it with a judenrein "Palestine," Gd forbid!

Experience teaches us Israelis to always be on the alert. Since, we know that a terror attack can come at anytime and anyplace, my fellow teacher and myself became terribly nervous when we saw all of these cars stopped and Arabs on the side of the road. I quickly checked news sites on my smartphone to see if there had been an attack, Gd forbid. But nothing could be found. Within a few minutes, security forces arrived and the Arabs ran back into their cars and traffic moved as if nothing had happened. Maybe nothing had happened...

Why Do Otherwise Intelligent Moral People Keep Saying "There Should Be A Palestine?"

As readers here know, I've complained innumerable times about the illogical support of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for a Palestinian State. Not only does such a thing go against my own logic and reasoning, but the legitimacy of such a state goes against his own.

The call for a Palestinian, sic, State is like some illogical mantra that otherwise intelligent, moral, educated people keep repeating as if it was a magic formula to be accepted by the international media, political leaders and accademia.

The idea that there is a Palestinian sic nation/people is just a few decades old. It's a total fiction/invention to push out a Jewish State from the land labeled "Palestine" on some maps. On other and older maps that piece of land is called Judea, because the only native people to have a history and kingdom there were Jews. Every other ruler here was an invader, an occupier, whether Roman, Persian, Greek, Turkish or British.

And before some of you will start with your "Jordan is Palestine," please don't. Jordan is another of those modern inventions. Great Britain offered the Hashemite tribe from Saudi Arabia a big empty piece of land to call their own and keep out Jews. The British mentored the tribal chief who became the king and subsidized Jordan's economy for decades. A major reason that Jordan is so relatively peaceful is because the government did its best to keep out the so-called Palestinian refugees, sic. Jordan is rather like an Arab Judenrein Canada.

The former Chief Rabbi of Great Britain, Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, recently came out with a fantastic little animated film about the hypocrisy of BDS.

It just has one little flaw.

Rabbi Sacks made it clear; he said: "I support a Palestinian State." What a shame. The cartoon would have had been just as effective, if not more so, without the statement. That's especially because he shows exactly what has happened where Israel has gaven the Arabs a chance to rule themselves.

Yes, dangerous terrorist chaos.

Why Do We Jews Keep Lying to Ourselves?

I don't think I'll ever understand the pathetic and dangerous worship most American Jews have for the Democratic Party? It has never supported Jewish needs properly. The Democratic idol of many, Franklin Delano Roosevelt did absolutely nothing to rescue and accept Jews fleeing the Nazis. And his successor, Harry S. Truman, was ready to accept the State Department's recommendation to vote against the approval of a Jewish State at the United Nations.

Since then, there hasn't really been any improvement.

Today's Democratic Party is extremely pro-Arab and pro-Palestine, sic. Their pet Jewish organization is J-Street, which promotes the weakening of the State of Israel and the establishment of another judenrein anti-semitic terror state to be called "Palestine."  Don't forget that former USA President Barack Hussein Obama had pledged to facilitate that state and considers his failure to be the worst of his presidency. I wouldn't be surprised if he joins another Israel-hater and former president, Jimmy Carter, to try to "rectify" it.

So, when I read Ruthie Blum's  Alan Dershowitz Following Defeat of DNC Chair Hopeful Keith Ellison: I Will Remain in Democratic Party, But Will Fight for It to Move Away From Anti-Israel, Far-Left Trends in algemeiner, I just couldn't stop thinking of how pathetic such an intelligent man sounds.
Why can't Alan Dershowitz finally see and admit the truth?
The Democratic Party is not the best party for him and other caring Jews!
credit

I'm not saying that they should join the Republican Party. But I do think that they, led by Dershowitz, should resign from the Democrats. In all honesty, I think that American Jewry would have more power if it wasn't tied to a specific party.
  • American Jewish voters should make it clear that they vote according to issues, background and personalities.
  • American Jews should make it clear that they donate according to specific issues and if the candidate or cause is associated with antisemitism or anti-Israel policies and groups, they won't get money.
J-Street should be shunned by anyone who really cares for the State of Israel, since its policies, its raison d'être  completely endangers the security, stability and survival of the only Jewish State in existence. Just because they claim to be pro-Israel doesn't mean that it's true.

Yes, this would be very earth-shattering and traumatic for many, but I think it is necessary and would be much better for American Jewry in the long run.

Honestly, Blame Israeli Policy for UN Resolution

Here in Israel and for many of our supporters all over the world there's great anger and disappointment about the recent and rushed United Nations Security Council resolution condemning Israel for the "settlements" which includes all the Land liberated in the 1967 Six Days War INCLUDING JERUSALEM.

Most people when confronting something they aren't personally involved with see it all, understand it, in basic simplistic black and white. They just can't comprehend the nuances, especially the very strange ones that successive Israeli governments and Jewish groups all over the world see.

Wikipedia

First of all, let's make it clear that the 1967 Six Days War the State of Israel battled three armies and the Iraqi Air Force not only without any allies, but severely restricted in its arms purchases because of the anti-Israel policies of many countries. It was very clear to those of us old enough to understand what was happening, that the rest of the world really wouldn't have cared if we had been defeated and washed into the sea, which was predicted/threatened by Egypt's Nasser. And please don't forget that the United Nations fully cooperated with Nasser and removed its peacekeeping forces, which were supposed to prevent a war.

Thank the Good Lord that we had one ally, Gd Almighty, who took charge, and the State of Israel defeated its enemies and within six days was suddenly a large country with easily defensible natural borders.

Defensible Borders
West Point
Israel had been geographically and militarily vulnerable when the War for Independence ended in 1949. It was clear that at some point, pretty soon, our enemies would attack in order to wipe us off the map.

So, when the proverbial dust settled in June, 1967, after the war, any normal country would have immediately annexed and declared sovereignty over every single millimeter of the land liberated and make it clear to the aggressors and the world that we would be considering all that land ours and no different from Tel Aviv. But instead, every single government since then has made all sorts of incomprehensible distinctions between the areas we held. That's how Menachem Begin blithely gave the Sinai to Egypt and in the process unprecedentedly destroyed Jewish communities and agreed for it to be Judenrein.

Even though all Israeli Governments since the 1967 ceasefire insist that East Jerusalem, including the Kotel, Western Wall, the Golan Heights and a few other locations remain under Israeli control, the world in general does not understand, nor accept all of these distinctions. For them it's all or nothing, and that is why even countries that Israel naively considers as allies had no problem voting for that Security Council resolution.

All I can say is that it's never too late, and now's the time for a total change in Israeli policy. The only thing that can save us is our annexing and declaring full Israeli Sovereignty over what we still hold. And, yes, we will have to cease our support and recognition of the P.A. Palestinian Authority.

It must be done. We have no choice if we want to survive, and Gd will only step in to save us if we do it.

Now we are celebrating Chanukah, the perfect time to rid ourselves of the modern Greeks and Hellenists in our midst. We must fight like the Maccabees of Old! And, yes, Gd willing with the Help of Gd we will be victorious.

What's Amona Really?

From what I've been hearing in the Teachers Room, which for now has replaced the local swimming pool for getting an idea of what others are saying/thinking, there isn't agreement among those in nearby communities when it comes to whether or not Amona should accept any of the compromise offers.

Naively, I guess, I had thought that the destruction of a number of houses a decade ago had been the end of the government/Leftist/Supreme Court harassment of Amona. But I guess it just made the Left hungrier for blood. And yes, it's blood they are after, Jewish blood.

The entire premise of today's Israeli Left, and even Center, is that the Arabs have more rights to live in this Land than Jews do. The pre-State Israeli/Zionist Left was more a matter of economics, socialism (even communism and being pro-USSR) versus capitalism. That's why the kibbutzim, which never numbered all that many people, got all sorts of extra benefits that other Israelis and Zionists didn't. Between Independence 1948 and the 1967 Six Days War, the country was more divided by which pre-state military group one had associated with, Haganah, Palmach, Etzel and Lechi. And for those who arrived post-war, ethnic factors, European-Ashkenaz or North African-Sefardic played a big role in acceptance into the elite or even getting a decent job.

The 1967 Six Days War was a game-changer, because the new divide became whether one believed that Jews belonged in all of the Land of Israel, YESHA-Judea, Samaria, Gaza, Sinai, Golan and the Jordan Valley or not. And here we are, just a few months short of the 50th Anniversary of that war, and we're still fighting the internal Israeli battle over it. The focus is now on Amona, a small, pastoral, semi-rural community a half hour north of Jerusalem.

To give an idea of how differently Israelis of the Right and Left look at Amona, just take a look at the pictures  chosen by Arutz 7 versus the one in the Jerusalem Post.

My feeling is that the entire issue rests on the problem that the State of Israel never annexed the Land we liberated in our war for survival in 1967. The powers here at the time had the very fokokt and mistaken idea that the Land could be exchanged for peace.

The Eshkol-Labor Government refused, and their successors still refuse, to accept/recognize the simple fact that the Arabs aim to destroy us and do not want even a small ghetto-like Israel to exist.

We cannot mollify or pacify the Arab terrorist enemy with a few acres of Amona. It won't bring anyone peace.

The only thing that will bring an eventual, not immediate peace is to declare sovereignty in all of the Land we hold and act as a sovereign nation allowing/encouraging Jews to live all over, even in Ramalla and Shechem. All Arab terrorists must be executed without trial if caught in the act. Any Arab who wants to live in an Arab country, judenrein as most are, can choose between the more than twenty that already exist.

The "Aishtafada" Arab Arson Terror Continues

As further proof that the Arabs hate this Land and are only demanding a state to kick out Jews and form another judenrein apartheid state, they've been intentionally burning up Jewish communities all over Israel.

The Arab terrorists are getting bolder and bolder, which is making it easier to catch them in the act, but the only thing that can stop the fires would be rain, lots of rain. And only Gd can give us that.

This is all so horrible. I've been looking at the weather forecast. Just after Shabbat it showed no sign of rain until maybe Wednesday night. Now there may be a drizzle on Tuesday. Here in the Holy Land, rain is controlled by Gd to reward and/or punish us. May we merit rain and as soon as possible, Gd willing.

GUEST POST: WHY ALL JEWS MUST DIE!

WHY ALL JEWS MUST DIE!
(guest post by Mr. Cohen)

While the international news media relentlessly strives to make Jews look like villains, and Muslims look like innocent victims, nobody seems to notice that the laws of Islam do not permit any Jewish state anywhere in the Middle East, regardless of its size or the shape of its borders.

Even if Israel would give the Palestinians their own state, a state that included ALL of Jerusalem (both east and west Jerusalem), Muslims would still be required by the laws of their religion to destroy ALL of Israel.

Even if Israel would shrink itself to the size of Yankee Stadium, its existence would still be a violation of Islamic law [actually, around half-a-dozen Islamic laws, but I refuse to get distracted by a detailed analysis of Islamic religious laws], and Muslims would still have a religious obligation to destroy it.

Last but not least, the holy books of Islam teach that the Islamic Messianic Era cannot come until
ALL JEWS ARE KILLED: even those Jews who never visited the land of Israel, even those Jews who are non-Zionist, even those Jews who are anti-Zionist; all of them must eventually be killed, and the entire world must be made Judenrein, according to the teachings of Islam.

Just in case you did not understand what I said in the previous paragraph, please allow me to explain that according to the laws of Islam, ALL JEWS MUST EVENTUALLY BE KILLED, even those who live in: England, France, Russia, Japan, Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Cuba, Panama, Morocco, Portugal, Switzerland, Singapore, India, Hungary, Hong Kong, South Africa, and all other lands and nations.

Just in case you did not understand the meaning of "ALL",
that word means: one-hundred percent (100%).

If you still believe that it is possible for Israel to negotiate
a genuine peace treaty with Muslims, then I ask you:

Which part of "ALL JEWS MUST BE KILLED"
did you not understand?

The Koran teaches that Jews are the biggest enemies of Muslims.

The Koran’s 5th chapter [al-ma’idah = the table], verse 82 says:

“You will find that the people most
hostile towards the believers [Muslims]
are the Jews and the polytheists...”

Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Book 56:
Narrated by Abu Huraira:

Allah's Messenger [Mohammed] said,

"The Hour will not be established
until you fight with the Jews,
and the stone behind which a Jew
will be hiding will [miraculously] say:

"O Muslim!
There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him!"

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger
(Peace be upon him) as saying:

The last hour would not come unless
the Muslims will fight against the Jews
and the Muslims would kill them until
the Jews would hide themselves behind
a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say:

“Muslim, or the servant of Allah,
there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him.”

***** ISLAM AND HONOR KILLINGS *****

“The contempt Islam holds toward women is best illustrated through it time-honored practice of honor killings.  Any woman’s or girl’s perceived transgression against the teachings of Islam or against a man’s wishes, or behavior that insults a man, permits a male member of a family to murder the female to avenge and restore honor to the family in the eyes of society.”

“Honor killings are executed by slitting the victim’s throat, hatcheting them, stabbing, burning them to death, bullets to the head or chest, or by any other means imaginable.”

“In addition, it is also customary to cut off the victim’s left hand or index finger to prove to the tribal elders that the deed has been accomplished and the family honor can now be restored.’

“Even moderate Jordan withdrew a referendum to tighten laws on honor killing after devout Muslims said that the law would eradicate Islamic values and traditions.

Article 341 of Jordanian Law stipulates that murder is a legal act of defense when:”

“the act of killing another or harming another was committed as an act of defense against his life, or his honor, or somebody else’s life or honor.”

“Honor killings are performed throughout the Muslim world. In 1997, an attorney general in the Palestinian authority told an audience of women that, in his opinion, the honor killings of women in Gaza and the West Bank were close to 70% of all female deaths.”

“The independent Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, citing government figures, said in a 2006 report that about 1,000 women die annually in honor killings.”

Brigitte Gabriel said:

“Muslims were enslaving black Africans 1,300 years before slave ships brought black Africans to the New World.”

“Most interesting, though, is that even though black slavery by Muslims began long ago, also no descendants of those slaves are alive today in the Muslim world. Why is there no black culture in the Middle East?”

“Most slaves were either killed or died from being worked to death.”

“Islamic racism is so entrenched in Muslim society that the Arabic word for black is abed (slave) or abeeds (slaves).  There is no other respectable word in the Arabic language that describes a black person as equal or even human. Blacks are also referred to [in Arabic] as filth.”
