Very Disturbing

I saw this sacrilegious, by Jewish values and theology picture on display in the Cardo, Old City, Jerusalem the other day.

What do you think?

Well, it sort of invokes the feeling of the forlorn bride waiting for her very delayed husband so that feeling is Jewish because we all feel forlorn waiting and as well Jerusalem can be described as the bride (shechina) waiting to be reunited with her husband. But, I've mostly heard that Moshiach will be married with children by the time he becomes the king and is revealed. Art is more about feeling than sources though so I don't see why it bothers you so. Was it done by a Jewish artist or not?

I believe this is a pictorial of an actual passuk of the Torah, of Am Yisrael waiting for Mashiach. Maybe someone can find and show us the passuk.t

The Jewish people are the bride of HKBH. This is another distortion rooted in xtianity.

I was also thinking that this was done by xtians. This is definitely not the way of Torah!

At Sinai, when Bnei Yisroel received the Toral, Chazal describe the relationship formed as that of the brude and groom. SEE Rashi VeZos HaBeracha 33:2 source Torah.org

Gd and messiah aren't the same in Judaism.

I do not know how to interpret that painting,
ao I cannot say for sure that it is disturbing.

Aahh, funny how my eyes were blind to "bride of messiah" at the bottom. Ech! This is certainly not a paintimg or pic that I would place in our home. FOR SURE HaShem is not messiah!

Bizarre rather than ominous.
It has no clear message nor it it traditional in a Jewish sense.
The bride has neither veil nor head covering.
I think it has painted by a non Jew who simply thinks it will sell to a non educated tourist.

Yes, I must confess, after doing some research on this topic, I admit that I found that the concept of “Bride of Mashiach” is a purely non-Jewish effort. How they steal from the Jewish Bible, twist and contort, to support their belief in a man–g-d.
